I contacted Long Beach Balloons the night before, maybe about 9pm not expecting any response until morning. I emailed the place using email provided and yelped them hoping someone would respond. If you are a party planner type, it can be overwhelming trying to bring your vision to life with all the last minute changes in details and a complete change in location. OMG! I was beyond overwhelmed. It was for my sister's birthday. The original plans changed so my sister said, "Forget it, we don't have to celebrate my birthday this year!" Well that was not an option for me. I came up with another plan, marina view rooftop brunch. No reservations, Saturday's are usually busy, no specifics, just planning off "hope." Ding! Notification? Yes! I got a response from Long Beach Balloons. Josie responded to both inquiries via email & yelp the same night. I explained and screenshot what I was looking for, the color scheme and design. I didn't know the difference between columns or helium stacked, I just wanted a certain look with balloons. Josie explained the difference. I contacted her again early that morning of the 17th. I asked about business hours, the earliest time to pick up the balloons. She stated that they open at 7am (which I thought was great because I have a 11am deadline). Oh fyi, the restaurant is first come, first served seating, they do not allow you to reserve tables. The event coordinator said come in early to get your table because Saturdays are the busiest. I'm like ok but I had to pick up the birthday cake across town at 8am. I decided to pick up the cake first then drive after to Long Beach Balloons since the brunch was located in the Long Beach area. On yelp there was no address listed. I contacted Josie for the place of business. She said that I had to place order first. She emailed me the invoice. Of course, right? My brain was not functioning properly that morning. I paid the invoice~ $40, made arrangements to meet up to see if balloons could fit in my car otherwise they could have been delivered for a $50 fee. Oh! I forgot to tell you, I ordered 16 of the shiny chrome balloons in gold and green to match the cake. They were pretty! We met up at a privately owned location and the balloons did fit in my car. Josie made it happen, she even added a few extra small ones at the bottom. I asked to buy a tablecover, any extra detail to create a festive look. She had no linen for purchase, rentals only. She did not have the colors I wanted. So I opted for a white linen tablecover then she told me all the white linen had been rented out for other events. I'm like darn it! So she referred me to Stephanie's a party decor shop near by. I immediately head over there after thanking Josie for her time and my balloons. At Stephanie's, Joselin helped me pick out the perfect tablecover satin gold with a sequins green runner to match balloons. I am so glad that Long Beach Balloons/Josie was available and her quick response to meet my needs. An A++ in customer service, I definitely recommend. My sister was surprised. She loved all of it! I wish I was able to give no stars at all. I hired Josie and Long Beach Balloons to make a Balloon Drop for my New Years Eve Wedding, but due to the way the venue was set up Josie suggested a Q Boom Balloon Drop instead. With the Q Boom, a bunch of small balloons were placed inside a large balloon, and I was given a remote that would make the larger balloon explode so that the smaller balloons could fall out. The Balloons were supposed to drop down from the ceiling at Midnight for the New Years count down, unfortunately that did not happen as planned and instead of the large balloon exploding it imploded and no balloons fell. The next day on Jan. 1st I contacted Josie via Email to let her know that the balloons did not fall and I attached pictures and asked her if a refund would be processed. On Jan. 2nd Josie initially responded and apologized for the Q Boom not working properly and stated that "This was the first time the Q Boom did not work". The following day on Jan 3rd Josie emailed me to let me know that she had contacted her accountant to process a full refund. After waiting for 10 days for a refund to be credited back to my credit card and receiving no refund, I contacted Josie again to get a status on when I could expect to receive the funds back on my card. On Jan. 13th Josie emailed stating that, "We processed the refund and it takes 7-10 business days. On our end the refund went through. We will contact Square". Then on January 19th Josie emailed me stating, " Square has sent me an email that the refund couldn't be processed back to your credit card. They stated the refund must be made by check or cash and that they are going to send the funds back to my bank account." Me being a business owner, knew that this was a lie and on January 20th I requested a reversal of the funds directly from my credit card company. Today, February 5th, I was notified that instead of Josie allowing my credit card company to issue the refund back to my account, that she disputed the refund so that I would not be able to get my money back. Why would Josie do that after advising me that they were going to refund the money back to me???? Because she actually had NO INTENTIONS of refunding my money back in the first place. Josie was just giving me the run around. Fortunately for myself, I am an excellent record keeper and still have all of the email correspondence between myself and Josie which I will be providing to my credit card company so that they can indeed issue the refund I am owed. Josie accepted fault and promised me a refund but didn't honor her word. All I wanted was for Josie to be honest and fair after this incident RUINED the Finale of my wedding. I wish I would have had the great experience that all the other reviewers did. read more
