I am not the type of person that can just workout from home or a video. I really need someone helping to motivate me. UDAR and all of their instructors do just that. There is upbeat music, TV screens with the punch/kick combos so I don't have to stress my short term memory, and instructors that pump you up and coach you just the right amount throughout each class. Also, it's not really what I thought. I had no idea I'd really be doing a full body workout. The instructors keep it interesting with bag workouts, mat work, resistance bands, etc. Although the whole class is hard workout, it's also over before you know it. They really do a great job with the pace of activities. It's only been one month, but I already feel healthier. Something about working out makes me not crave sugar and instead crave water and protein. I'm looking forward to being confident in tank tops and bathing suits again. I've been trying to commit to three days a week and I love that they have several different day and time options for my ever changing work and personal schedule. UDAR is a great add-on to your current fitness routine, or, like me, UDAR could also BE your fitness routine. So grateful to have found this place right in LB!

I take a lot of Bootcamp / boxing classes at other gyms, and this class was nice and challenging. Don't be fooled by the light weights! Lots of repetition equals crazy burn. I'm excited to go back for my other two classes and will likely buy a bulk class pack. They never expire, which is really nice and convenient. UPDATE: I've also now done kickboxing and Insanity (once both in a row). Insanity is super challenging but you can still go at your own pace. The kickboxing class was great (I've done lots) and you can get one on one help when/if you need it. I normally do regular boxing, so I needed extra help with my kicks. Bought a 10 pack for $120. Great deal!

However, I decided to not become a full time member for a few reasons.. 1, when you buy classes or a groupon, there is a limited amount of time you can use your classes before they expire. If you don't use all the classes you purchased, you lose them. 2, you have to sign up at least 1/2 hour before class & if you cancel within that time frame, they will charge you for a late cancel. 3, I signed up for a few classes, & a half hour before class, I was told I was the only one who signed up and there wouldn't be a class. I have 2 small children so it is difficult for me to sign up ahead of time, get a babysitter, & then have class cancelled and I wind up not going at all. This is an amazing workout however in a positive atmosphere! If the above 3 don't really bother you then you should definitely go esp because it's much cheaper than many other places.

The people running the gym claim to sterilize the mats once a day at least, but I have never seen it happen. Will you learn martial arts by attending the classes? Yes, definitely- but only on the days that they decide are good days to run the classes. That's right! You pay, often what can be top dollar, for minimal amounts of classes- AND even THEN do they take away classes regularly from the schedule. Classes were canceled MULTIPLE times alone this past week- including tonight's boxing. There is another catch! Often the classes are too large for any sort of individualized attention. If you join this gym, you might find yourself struggling to grow for that reason alone. They try to price discriminate between customers. If you pay by card, make sure the gym isn't charging you fees you should not be paying at that you are paying your monthly membership only as your contract says you should be. You cannot expect them to resolve this over the phone. You will need to go into the office to resolve such a matter. When you are waiting for a fee they unrightully charged you to be reversed, have your card company block any more charges by Alpha Omega so that they don't charge you again- WHILE PROMISING TO FIX IT- as they have done with others. Now that you have read this review, ask yourself: "Is it worth it to possibly learn a little martial arts over the course of a long time, while not only paying a lot of money for classes that are frequently being canceled or because the service being provided simply being poor service, but also while having to regularly review your bank statements in order to make sure they aren't stealing money from you like they do with everyone else?"

Though we do give back to the community in many forms. A few years back, I signed up my two children for Tiger Shulman, the contract was for a year and the total was almost $6000.00. And though the Sensei was nice & cool with us, he was still running a business and rightfully expected payment. If one of my clients said one thing, and did another and gave me the runaround, - and not paid their monthly invoice, Id have "NO BUSINESS" and livelihood. Get a grip. Read your contract. Do your homework before wasting everyone's valuable time and efforts.

My daughter is a special needs child and in the beginning it was tough for her and not easy. Since she was a toddler I have wanted abby to attend martial arts classes, however it hasnt always been easy and a success. Last year we finally decided to try it again. The staff and everyone have been so kind and nice in accepting Abby as there student. It was a long road ahead, but with everyone's help sensei's Noel great hard work, we finally accomplished in receving the white belt and the yellow belt. Sensei Noel has been nice and respectful and trained Abby as who she is and not for her disability. Abby has grown to love sensei noel and love coming to her classes. Today's ceremony, staff and sensei noel have made a truly big impact on Abby's life. We Continue to thrive and work hard for our next belt. Thank you everyone a truly beautiful ceremony.

They have a great bike section, their cardio equipment is terrific, and there is a wide variety of various weight training machines available -- all for an affordable monthly rate. And it is spotless clean with lots of antibacterial spray and paper towel stations all over the gym. I had a wonderful workout today. It wasn't overly crowded and there wasn't annoying loud music blasting through the speakers, making for a pleasant and fulfilling workout. I love Synergy. I love seeing Ami and John (two really great guys). And, now that Ami owns it, it's the best! Thank you, Ami, for inviting me back.
