We came off season just to watch the sunset so I didn't get the New England summer experience yet. It is undergoing a lot of construction so hopefully that is done by summer, new parking lot and more. I noticed they charge for parking normally, you can pay on your phone. Plus it seems like a pretty long beach (no pun intended), so there would be lots of sandy space to lay out. No apparent food or drinks on property but downtown is just a short drive. It was pretty even in the winter/spring to sit in your car and feel the peace the ocean can bring. read more

Save your time and money. $20 to park is robbery, especially for this dirty, rocky beach that is completely covered in seaweed. Don't expect clear water here either. After an hour on the beach a man came and put up a sign closing the beach due to high bacteria and contamination. No refunds either. Will never go back. read more

HORRIFIC parking after..what..10am? took ONE HOUR to find parking. they sent us to white horse beach which don't even think of going THERE because parking is horrific as well. cops write tickets like scripture at white horse. got threatened with a ticket for parking after we thought we FINALLY FOUND A SPOT. when we finally got there it was a 15 minute walk. beach is endlessly rocky, can't walk anywhere. they're dog friendly but there are so many people that you can't enjoy time with your dog without being bombarded by people. please just go to onset MA..if you just want a NICE CALM day at the beach, buzzards bay will always be a go to. never coming back to this awful place. wasted so much time during our already small vacation. read more

Long Beach is a gorgeous strip of beach jutting off of Plymouth into the amazing Atlantic. Great place to go for walks-- you can walk for what seems like miles and see nothing but sand and dunes and waves, sea birds and shells. The water is positively freezing until late summer, when you can enjoy slightly warmer waters (but not much warmer, this is the cape area we're talking about). You can't get too close to this beach if you're not a Plymouth resident, which keeps the crowds down because there are lots of beaches around to choose from...loses one star because it's not my faaaavorite beach, Duxbury Beach! read more

15 bucks to park fine...its summer I get it so parking is always tight. High tide so everyone crammed like slathered up seals on the last 5" of sand. Seems like perfect time for all the "smokers" to light up. No regard for anyone else family, lungs or shoot fun times. Nice ocean breeze and menthol 100's. Saaaaaaweet jesus some people are special. The point we left was when the dogs where "literally shitting" "peeing" on the beach with people there. Sure all the responsible owners pick up...when the others dont my kid wont play in the sand in this beach. Plymouth...do something about this and visitors...pick up your trash. The cups of ketchup and honey mustard from the snack shack where also no beach treasures for the sand. If your going to sell food take a roll in policing beach from your patrons. read more

This is the only South Shore beach I've ever been to so I can't really compare them to others in the area but this beach was beautiful! I went on a rather hot afternoon and it was a perfect few hours on the water! There was a decent amount of people so I don't think you get too much privacy but I personally don't like deserted beaches. A large chunk of the beach, near the entrance, is dog-friendly, so you will see a few pooches around, if that's an issue. Note: this beach is rather rocky/gravel-y. Parking is $10 on weekdays and $15 on weekends for non-Plymouth residents. It had rained earlier the day we went, so there were VERY LARGE puddles in the parking area. This beach would be greatly improved if the parking lot was paved over or at least smoothed over with packed dirt (so large puddles don't accumulate post-rainy days). From South End Boston, it took us over an hour to get here, including quite a bit of traffic around Quincy. Without traffic, it would probably take around 45 minutes. read more

Best $35 I have ever spent was on a Plymouth Resident Long Beach Sticker. My wife and 2 young boys spend as much time as we can during the summer out on Long Beach. Pack up the truck and 20 minutes later (it takes a little bit to get out to the Crossover) and its like we are on vacation. This is what summer on the South Shore is all about. read more

Not the best beach we've ever been to. Pretty rocky, trash, sea weed washed up. Bathrooms are disgusting. You would think with the $15 you have to pay to park they'd at least keep up with the upkeep. You can bring your dog, which is nice. But they have to be leashed at all times, even away from people way down the beach (yes we were ridiculed) but when we walked back to the vehicle two dogs were off leash, one which ran up to my dog (who was on a leash) and snapped at his face. Beautiful beach, scenic, clear blue water with surf crashing. However, it's pretty rocky with very little sand that's free from rocks during high tide. There is some seaweed though it collects in spots and moves as a group making it easier to avoid. $15 to park on weekdays, lifeguards, bathrooms close at 4:30 unless restaurant is open, bumpy dirt parking lot. read more

It's a nice beach for sure. Parts are rocky but there's plenty of sand to avoid the rocks. The water doesn't get too deep until you're far out which is nice. The water is indeed freezing cold though. The parking isn't a huge issue since I walk there but you can get a sticker as a resident for $40 this year. It's not too crowded but not empty either. read more

Always a good time at Long Beach. There is always a crowd, and the beach always looks nice. I just wish you could go all the way out to the end in your truck, but you can't because of the birds. read more

The beach is pretty rocky but it has a little snack bar, tons of parking and a beautiful view of the ocean.

You have to walk a little to get away from the rocky crowded areas. Very cold water but nice and calm. Does have a very small bath house. You do have to pay to park if you don't have a beach sticker. read more
