AN ABSOLUTELY MUST DO! 5 STARS! THIS IS ONE OF MASSACHUSETTS BEST KEPT SECRET HIDDEN GEMS WITH FREE…read moreADMISSION & FREE PARKING! We liked it here so much we came back TWICE! Jenney Pond Park looks like it's in some movie from some make believe town with a Picture Perfect New England setting. This place is Fantastic for Picnics, Walks, Connecting with Nature & Wildlife & De- Stressing & Relaxing. It's just a 2 minute car ride from The Mayflower Ship & Plymouth Rock yet feels like you are hours away. It's completely hidden. The property is 13 acres large, open to the public & has 0.3 miles of public trails. We stumbled onto this hidden gem after parking here to go the Plimoth Grist Mill. After exiting the Grist Mill we walked back to the car & decided to explore. When we saw the fall foliage & picnic area & green grass that was enough to realize this is where we were going to have lunch. We went to one of the top rated restaurants in town Dillion's Local just a few minutes away & got some really good Food to go & eat here. What a beautiful setting to have lunch & see the fall foliage, The Picnic Area, the Walkway, the Pond & the Wildlife & the old wooden bridge. It looks like one of those fake Calendar Pictures but this place is real. We walked all around & saw all the White Swans, Ducks & other Birds. We were completely captivated by this one beautiful white swan that was Cleaning up the Environment & clearing away greenery in the pond - Pretty Amazing! . Now you can come here for Free & have a picnic & walk all around. Be sure to walk across the street & see the Plimoth Grist Mill with its 14 foot tall Water Wheel & Waterfall. It's Beautiful. You have to purchase a Ticket to actually go inside the Mill. But you can get up close for Free right next to the Mill & even visit their tiny gift shop which they sell locally sourced regional Cape Cod products & their own corn milled on the premises. The Grist Mill is only open on the Weekends & Holidays. If you are going to go inside the Grist Mill I recommend that you purchase a Heritage Weekend Pass to see The Grist Mill, The Mayflower Ship & The Plimoth Plantation. You'll Save some Money. Now we could not do all the things we wanted to do in Plymouth in one day so we had to come back the next day to complete our journey. No complaints - because it just gave us another reason to have lunch here again. This time we brought our own Food in a Cooler & enjoyed the picturesque Fall Setting once again. This place is great year round with different wildlife at different seasons. In the spring, herring can be seen going up the fish ladder by the Grist Mill on their way to Billington Sea to spawn. I love places like this that you completely stumble upon & end up being some of the best moments of your trip & it cost NOTHING! It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really rich to have The Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've Been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like A King On A Limited Budget!

We walked a bit to the right and there were so many dogs - it must be an unofficial dog park, or happy hour for the dogs. They were all so cute. My friend had come before so he recommend we walk to Wright's Tower since it gives a vast view of the neighboring houses and landscape but also Boston in the far distance. It was a perfect hike of about 45 minutes there, and about an hour back since we did trailblaze a bit. We were following a GPS, but there are colors and signs periodically on the trees to guide you through the trails. I wouldn't say its too scenic, but it is relaxing and the terrain is perfect, with some spots being intermediate level but mostly all of it being beginner or easy. We did see some people on bikes, and others jogging. When we got to the tower, we went inside and climbed the stairs to the top. From there, you can look out in all directions to get some really nice views. It is worth the climb. We plan on eventually going back and trying longer or more challenging trails. But overall I think it's a gem that isn't too far from the city.

I do wish that folks that visit will do better to not litter. Found areas where beer/drink cans were discarded near some of the lakes. Overall, I will continue to visit.
