Anyways, from my undergrad experience, the rock climbing wall was one of the best to get people into rock climbing. Secondly, the indoor running track provides space to the overall gym giving it a less crowded environment, and the equipment provided was well utilized. You often had people hogging the weight section so there was never really a good time to use that. The yoga and pilates classes or individual courses were offered but it never seemed to be around when a majority of students were available to use it. I really liked the Robeks that was on the first floor. I'm not sure if it's there anymore, but it's nice to had a large indoor seating area to eat before you actually went into the gym to study.

A few weeks after our session, we called the place to follow up on our pieces and the woman on the phone sounded rude about us asking about it. We went to pick up our pieces recently and the woman at the front desk definitely sounded like the one we talked to on the phone, same voice and same unwelcoming attitude. One thing to know before you go: check the operating hours. The garden was closing at 1:00 that day, so our visit was shorter than we would have liked. About 15 minutes before closing they started rounding everyone up, which was completely understandable, but next time I'd definitely book earlier. We brought Billy's mom and dad with us, and his father is 92 amazing years old, so we're always paying attention to how much walking, stress, parking drama, or general nonsense an outing involves. This one was about as easy as it gets. There's paid parking right next to the garden. I think we paid around $6.50, and the payment system was simple enough. Once you're inside, it's just beautiful. Little bridges, waterfalls, colorful koi everywhere (bonus! tons of baby koi this time!) lilies on the pond, flowers, and these bright red dragonflies flying around that completely caught my attention. There were families, students, people sketching, people feeding the fish, just a really nice mix of people quietly enjoying the space. What I especially like is that you don't have to make a whole production out of it. You can stroll, sit for a while, watch the koi, cross a bridge, look at the water, and just enjoy being somewhere pretty. Small, peaceful, easy, and genuinely lovely. It makes for a really nice family outing, and it's one of those places that's good to keep in your back pocket when you want to do something without committing to an entire day.

This is a great place to picnic, do outdoor activities and walk your dog. On this side of the park, you'll find 6 baseball diamonds, a 15-court tennis center, 2 basketball courts, a skateboard park, a disc golf course, soccer fields, a golf course, a community center and a newly renovated duck pond. I've been waiting years for the duck pond to be complete and I like what they've done. You can finally walk all around it and it is so peaceful. The area is teeming with ducks, geese, seagulls, coots, and other birds. There are even turtles in the pond.

The older lady at the front can seem a bit uptight if you haven't been here before, but I think that's just her personality and I don't think she means it in a harmful way. The pool is nice but there are limitations and swim tests so it's not like a fully free swim (as expected from a public pool) and the floor can get slimy and gross in the front of the pool where there is no test required to enter. I hope they fix the slimy floor because that is a build up of algae and a slipping risk...but all in all it's a really good place to know about so you can stop by when there's nothing to do or it's a bit hot.
