Mom and I went here looking for a good Sunday buffet. It was strange, to say the least. Around 12:30pm and the dining room we entered had a few small, mostly empty tables and was...not clean at all. No one greeted us or gave us the rundown; in fact I am not sure if there was an employee around. I went into the second room and found the buffet with a pretty long line, but I'm not sure why. The food did not look appetizing at all; certainly not appetizing enough for me to hang around and wait in line for a table in a dirty restaurant. Visited on Mother's Day to wrap up a family member's wedding weekend. We sat ourselves. It was Mother's Day, so or course it was the businesses restaurant day. We arrived a little after 1pm, and the majority of the crowd had subsided, but per our server, they were down one server. Our table had 6 people, and she did well with taking our orders. It did seem to take a little longer than expected for food to come out to our table, as we were one of the 1st tables there, but our server was pleasant. I ordered chicken & waffles. Very plentiful serving. One person in our party ordered the shrimp and grits without onions. After eating a few bites, she realized that her plate had onions, and when she returned it, the kitchen said they couldn't make her another plate because they had shut the kitchen down already. They close at one on Sundays. That was bad business. It was their error, so they should have done something to appease her. Other than that, the food and service were good. Interesting menu. Wanted to like this place but pulling up there was no sign that said " Long Grain Cafe " so that was strange.. we got there at 11:35 am and no more breakfast being served So I ordered the fried chicken BLT with Sweet Potato Fries.. it was good size, good amount of bacon on white toast(?) not a roll(?) Hubbs ordered a medium burger with crispy done fries..his burger was well done and had a weird flavor.. are they cleaning off the grill in between different flavored foods or perhaps shellfish which btw I'm highly allergic to and his fries were mostly white! Told our server and she just rolled her eyes and never said anything to manger or offered a new burger.. that's poor business in my book! Will not bother to return. read more

One of the better shrimp and grits, no sauce but red onions bacon and sausage bits over great grits gave it a lot of flavor. Didn't need anything else. Smothered red potatoes dish got a lot of attention, tad salty vs everything else but we're not salty folks. Omelette was great too. Grits seemed to have a good under taste maybe cooked with broth of some type. Quick service, server asked how y'all doing at least 3-4 times. Just enough but not too much. Hot ok coffee. I was on a road trip couple weeks ago Florence, South Carolina, needed to have breakfast and checked with Yelp to see what they suggested, they suggested this place long grain Café when I tell you, the breakfast was wonderful. The service was good. I had so much food. I took half of it home and finished later in the day. My niece was bragging about this place so she treated me to breakfast. You seat yourself and since it was a weekend, it was crowded. But we found a seat and Caley quickly came and thoroughly cleaned it. She made food suggestions since I had never been and was very accommodating. The food came out quickly ... and maaaaan it was delicious. The biscuits are homemade , grits are perfect. This is definitely a spot to visit when you are in Florence. We came here hoping to get slate breakfast or brunch while traveling. The place looked like a typical family restaurant but nothing really special. The menu we looked at online had some nice options but unfortunately we weren't able to choose from any of the breakfast items. They did have a "late risers" selection with about four or five breakfast type items. The waitress was sort of standoffish and not very friendly. The shrimp and grits were pretty good but nothing to write home about. I was shock out how thin the sausage patties were on my wife's plate and she said it didn't really taste that good either. My boyfriend and I were looking for a quick place to grab breakfast before heading home to Florida and we found this pleasant place on Yelp. It's listed as an Asian Fusion restaurant, and the only part that we could really see was "Fusion" about it was one item on the menu that had teriyaki glaze in the title. However, this place was still very great! The servers were extremely homey and friendly, and the prices were really low for the amount of food that they give you. Their bacon was some of the greatest bacon that I have ever had at a local breakfast joint. Huge portion of a great breakfast here, but it's clear that speed is not their strong suit. From the wait for a waitress to take our order to the delivery of the food and then paying the check, this was slow, slow, slow. And normally, this wouldn't be a problem. But my customer expects us to be on site at 8:30 and we ended up about 15 minutes late. Still, as I said, it's a terrific breakfast. I chose the three cheese omelet and my colleague chose the loaded home fries. And his home fries were l o a d e d. Like gravy and cheese and bacon and more. A lot of stuff on there. My omelet, on the other hand, was not loaded with anything but cheese and three (yeah, right. more like four) eggs with a big pile of home fries and the toast. Ended up w/ the only "breakfast " item for late risers.. eggs over easy w/ sausage & potatoes. Can't really mess that up, but the sausage had much to be desired. Overall it was okay, the menu choices were plenty and the eggs benedict w/ avocado, ham and bacon was a big hit as well as the meat omelette. The corn beef hash was fresh but the scrambled eggs were a little under cooked and the French toast and grits were just okay, the grits had some flavoring that didn't set well with me. Our server was very attentive. Minuses were the bathrooms that needed to be cleaned and overhauled and then the place itself is dated.
