Best food/service in town. I often purchase the miller bowl, coffee, the mountain man sandwich, the newly included rooster burger, and myriad other dishes during the work week. The service is also excellent - I was late to pick up my coffee one day, and it was remade for me upon my arrival at no extra charge, just to guarantee freshness. Nice choice of food items, including breakfast, sandwiches, salads and quich to name but a few. Food came out hot and fast. I got the Rachel's Ruban with house made slaw and French fries, my table mate went for the chicken ceaser wrap with FF. Both delicious and enough food we took half of it home. In a sentence: An adorable cafe with an awesome brunch and lunch menu with great service! We arrived at 8am opening time and were happy to find the door unlocked and servers ready to help. The hostess and server were friendly and accommodating with my friend's excited 2 year olds. The cafe itself looked clean and organized with a rustic and cool style. The pastry case was full of brownies, cookies, cake pops, bars, salads, and more, everything looked delicious! We sat in the beautiful brick alleyway which is so picturesque for those food pics! I ordered the Pedro Rachero, a bowl of creamy grits topped with pimento cheese, avocado, black beans, and pico, so good!!! Fruit and toast on the side made sure I was full and happy. What an amazing gem! We were in the area and Yelp led me here! You guys nailed it with this place. Amazing h fried potatoes, cooked perfect in my favorite way! The sausage meat is local and made into a homemade patty and my favorite part about it is that it was not salty. They have gluten free toast! Super plus and it's good. The coffee is amazing and would come back just to order the macchiato again and the waitress was very knowledgeable.... The food however didn't hold up, at least for me. My boyfriend said he liked the hunter plate and I got the mushroom omelet and was disappointed. It may just be I'm used to fluffy omelets with the components mixed in but WAY too much onion and the cheese was WAY too overpowering for how thin the egg was. We we're passing through town and saw their listing on Yelp. After a short wait we were seated then enjoyed an excellent Ruben sandwich. Disclaimer: I try everything on the table, so this is first hand knowledge. Blueberry compote pancakes with a side of ham. Delicious. Ham can be very questionable, it was not here. This is such a cute, quaint place; it is a bakery/coffee shop and a restaurant in one. It has very neat almost vintage-esque decor throughout the entire place - that's what captured my attention the most and what prompted me to write about it. There are plants everywhere (yay!) and the decor gives it a warm feel. There is even a small library in the corner. We sat in what was almost like an outside patio and we fell in love before we even got our food. Now on to the food itself. I got a turkey sandwich for brunch and it was quite flavorful, very fresh and one I really recommend if you want something light. The service was good, attentive and kind. If I'm ever in town again I will look forward to stopping by again. I highly recommend! read more

The Midnight Rooster is a very cool Bistro in downtown Hartsville. My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a day drive looking for another business that was closed today due to the Memorial Day Holiday (thanks to all veterans for your service to our GREAT Country the USA). Glad the Midnight Rooster was open as it is so nice. The wait staff were very busy and attentive. Offered gluten free options which made it perfect. They had very delicious soups and sandwich specials for the day which we both took advantage of. Both our orders were delicious and well prepared. My inlaws live in Hartsville and we go to visit them there. Midnight Rooster is on Carolina avenue and opens for breakfast. I'm a recreational runner, so sometimes when I'm in town I jump into a local 5K if there's one going on at the YMCA, this is next door. We always walk over there for breakfast after the local races and Midnight rooster is always delicious and very good service. It's an artsy place and cute inside. They don't open until a little later on weekend mornings, so I guess you should keep that in mind. I think it's 8 or 9? read more

One of the best local coffee shops that offer seasonal flavors and they also have a full bar! I've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and all of it was really good!
