My 95 year old mother has been in the facility for almost 2 years after a fall. She is on the fifth floor. The caretakers are caring, watch what she eats, and help her with a little physical therapy everyday. The staff seem to get along well and are always joking and teasing one another, which makes it a happier place. When friends and family are visiting, they always comment that we made a great decision to pick this facility. read more

Truly disappointed in this place and how they treated my dad! It's unfortunate that there are people who are so miserable that they'll take it out on others, and to the poor defenseless ones that they know can't defend themselves. My dad who was blind and suffered from Alzheimer's/Dementia wasn't treated well at all. There were oftentimes that they would just let him sit or lie there and not feed him and you would hear the nurses/aides cackling and laughing, speaking their creole in the dining area and give you a bs excuse just to not feed him. I wonder how many days my dad went through without food in his system or how many HOURS he was sitting or laying around with a soiled diaper. My dad already was getting bed sores because they weren't moving him at all. This is a place for you to leave someone that you don't care about and let them rot because the staff on the 6th floor don't give a shit about them. You can make all the complaints you want and they'll treat them well because you're there watching them but best believe that once we walked away until we come back the following day, he was ignored and we would have to do the whole process again of arguing and letting them know that your loved one isn't being treated well. Imagine if they were treating my father like shit and we were constantly going there to check on him and calling them out on their lack of care, I can only imagine the ones that barely get any visitors, how they were being treated/ignored. Healthcare officials need to make surprise visits to all of these "care centers" and see that the staff are not doing their jobs at all! That there's no type of "care" all all. How they're having these helpless patients suffer in silence. If you really do love your family member, please don't bring him/her here unless you're going to be there for long periods of time. Don't be fooled by the new renovations and how "attentive" they look when you're touring it, it's all a facade. read more

This is an uncaring, cruel place. They leave patients near death for 24 hours or more before calling for medical help. They are rough with patients. Many develop severe decubitus ulcers after being left lying in their own waste for hours. read more

They are on their third set of Social Workers/Administrators in a year. The new crew has no idea what their jobs are. My mother is catatonic, had COVID three times (at least), years ago had unhealed bed sores for over a year. Everyone blamed everyone else. My mother is a WARD OF THE STATE due to her own negligence, but she's diagnosed with multiple mental illnesses. I'm her only relative (her son) and she put my name on absolutely nothing. I'm very physically disabled: homebound & mostly bedridden since 2005. I've been a tenant of her first floor since 2005 paying rent. When she was forced into LICC by the State, I got stuck with all her bills living on nothing but Soc. Sec. Disability. She has an $82,000 default gambling loan & DOB Violations from before I was born (they are broke & just stealing from any homeowners)! This makes LICC responsible for saving her house according to all state agencies I've spoken to. They claim ignorance. I may wind up homeless which will make me as good as dead. read more

There is a good thing and some bad things about the Long Island Care Center. The good thing about the Long Island Care Center is that I came there with a sickness called C diff, the Long Island Care Center called in an infectious disease doctor, and I recovered and survived. The bad things about the Long Island Care Center are: 1. The Long Island Care Center sued me with false allegations. 2. The only sink in my room was OUTSIDE the bathroom; there was no sink INSIDE the bathroom. 3. On the regular cleaner's days off and when it wasn't the regular cleaner's shift, there wasn't always an employee to clean the bathroom; sometimes I wound up cleaning the bathroom myself. read more

I have read all the reviews and most of them are petty issues. My mother has been treated GREAT, a very caring staff . They work her in PT and clean her and take care of her, like they would of their own family member. Clean clothes every day and they are always interacting with her . I don't care about a cabinet or something else that really doesn't matter to her health and care . I've interacted with the staff and I've never had an issue. Never seen an issue. Hey Long Island care center, please don't send your parents to the facility that you are employed at! " wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy" My mother fractured her hip. She a very proud 78 year old, last thing to ask a person is for help to change her. She's immobile, can't walk to the bathroom. (So she shallows her pride and dignity for the last 3 weeks). When she rings for assistance, 40 minute response time is not unusual. When someone does come, comments like, why did u call, I'm on my snack break! Or "that's not my job, your gonna have to wait". My family took her out of the facility today because she couldn't stand to be there. I'm sure there are some wonderful people that work there, we were not fortunate enough to see any. If there are good reviews and positive comments, they probably had the staff write them. So beware. P.S. anyone see the HBO show Chernobyl... that's how dated the facility looks. read more

After contemplating for a long time I decided to write. All the 5 star reviews so close in time to each other and with only 1 or 2 reviews seems questionable. I recently left the nursing department after the following. A few months ago a patient was declared dead and covered in sheets and hours later when the funeral company arrived it was discovered the patient was alive. I'm not sure how that can happen. Most if not all the caring nurses already resigned and went elsewhere, the facility used to be a caring and homelike atmosphere but now there are supervisors all over the place just delegating orders, I personally would not place my loved one under their care though you can decide for yourself. Engages in financial fraud. I specifically asked to confirm that the post-hospital care and PT for my mother would be covered by Medicare and was assured that it was. I was handed a contract to sign (on her behalf) that I will cover the fees not covered by insurance, and I said that I will not be signing it, and asked them to let me know if the care was not covered, because I would then take her home to be with an aid (for less money she would get better care; that's always the case with individual aids). I was assured that it was covered for 100 days. We took her home to be cared for by an aid at day 45. Now a nasty guy named Allan in their accounts department is harassing me claiming falsely that we agreed to pay. read more

Don't recommend this place at all! My mom had knee surgery and they left her constantly in a wheelchair and only one hour of physical therapy. Ended up developing a blood clot and my mom would call me at home to tell me they let her soil herself so I had to call them and tell at them to go help her change! Horrible place! Don't recommend it at all. So much more I can write but don't have the stomach! read more

My loved one was brought here because her insurance wouldn't authorize her stay at another facility that was closer to us. So far, the people here are friendly and caring. I have no complaints about the quality of her care, which is of the utmost importance. I took one star off because, they discourage staying with your loved one by not giving you a reclining chair and forcing you to sleep(not sleep, but sit)in a regular chair throughout the night. It boggles the mind because we are doing the work for them and letting the PCAs tend to other patients. I took another star off because this facility needs a renovation. It's old, dated and depressing. My loved one actually cried when we arrived at the room she's supposed to stay in. Closets are broken, handles falling off the drawers and unpainted patched holes in the walls. It doesn't take much to fix, they're all minor things. Lastly, she doesn't have a TV. It has to be ordered. I have never heard of such a thing. We were told there was only one bed available in the facility prior to coming, did the previous patient take the TV home? Inexplicable. So far, 2 days without a TV. All of these little things add up and can either hinder or facilitate progress. As of now, it's a hindrance. We hang on to the hope that the friendliness of the staff will more than make up for everything else and help us get out of here ASAP. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would! All the pictures and positive testimonials are a farce!!! I would love to find a group a people that had the same experience as my family to start a law suit. If you care about your loved one DO NOT send them here. This place is all about the money. All they wanna do is Bill you or your insurance. I recently had a family member in their care. The only reason they were here was because the hospital gave us 20hrs to find a rehabilitation center or they were discharging them. The only positive experience I had was speaking to the woman in admissions. She seemed very helpful and knowledgeable about the type of care my loved one needed. Once they were admitted that all changed. My loved one went in Covid free, and within a few days of being there we were told they were Covid positive. How do you put a patient with pre-existing lung and breathing issues on the same floor as Covid positive patients?!!!! They do it for the money, because you are able to get more for Covid positive patients! They remained in quarantine/isolation for weeks on end! Anytime I tried to call for information which was multiple time's a day, I was out on hold for 45 mins and then hung up on. Not once did their doctors or nurses contact my family or I to give us updates. If it wasn't for FaceTime I wouldn't know what condition my loved one was in! read more

loud insane people shouting day and night. Had me room mate with one who shouted at people not there every night for hours depriving me of needed sleep to heal. Zero minus social worker refused to change my room or his for over a month before I left. She also refused to believe my home address resulting in about a month plus of unecessary stay there at hospital prices. At your own risk, - I heard a female patient shout, "get off of me" one morning and the offending staffer shouted back," four other women put me on report and none of them are breathing now." Woman shouting in Greek, loud and angry annoying everyone every day and evening Had to put fingers in my ears when walking near her. I went there voluntarily for short term rehab, tranferred from Bellevue emergency with two casts on my left leg that immobilized me. I needed to go home or to a facility aiming to do that, however LICC offered an assisted living placement also in N, Queens as their only alternative, totally and obviously not needed by me. Rehab staff on weekends hired from an employment agency and rope on a pulley broke, stayed broken for three weeks, or so until I left. Heard several complaints about clothes sent to be washed not returned. Not told what all the meds offered to me were. Drs dissappear for weeks. My wheelchair almost new went missing twice, and was replaced with one with a torn back flapping down about a foot and almost bald well worn wheels; staff reply we can't find it. although I was short term, they placed me on a floor mainly of long term residents including the insane ones spoken of earlier. Stay out of here, find a better facility. A visually challenged female patient shouted for hours every day for someone to assist her pee, but no one came. I got about 90 minutes of rehab gym weekdays, and an hour on Saturdays. After that, go to my shared room and vegetate. AM staff told the floor manager she was worthless because they found dried #2 on the sheet every day, often. Sorry that I came there, don't make the mistake that I did. Given my injuries and removal of the casts I should have been home more than a month before LICC discharged me read more

My uncle had to stay here for a few weeks. The staff is friendly and very helpful. He had trouble walking but they did their best to get him some exercise. Doctors nurses and social workers took the time to explain things thoroughly. read more
