I remember coming in here around January before they were closed for there remodel and I found out a few days later back in January they were shut down for being filthy and bad management, I was trying to order food and sat there for 10 minutes while the old manager Tamara parker was yelling for somebody to give her their number on the phone I guess a customer called and complained and Tamara parked and pam something were just yelling at the person on the phone I got startled and was concerned about them touching my food because God forbid they didn't like me. I ordered Uber eats, they delivered fast. I live close by. I ordered the 3 piece chicken dinner with 2 waffle fries and 2 hush puppies. The only thing that was edible were the hush puppies. The chicken which is the reason I ordered, it is my favorite. When I opened the box I was stunned the chicken was unrecognizable, missing breading, didn't even resemble the chicken they serve, 3 ridiculous looking pieces of chicken, everyone smaller than the next, all three not measuring up to one piece. Picked it up to smell it and it was cold. It did have a slight scent of their chicken. The fries and hush puppies were lukewarm. With the only thing palatable being the two hush puppies. Called to complain and the man answering the call apologized and offered a 5 dollar voucher. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager and if I wanted a refund I should call Uber eats. UBER EATS did a fine fast job . Long John Silvers served me food they prepared and let sit till it got cold. That could cause food poisoning. A 5$ voucher on a $14. Meal that couldn't be eaten is unacceptable and expecting Uber eats to pay for your bad service is shameful. read more

What a mess went through the drive thru must have been shift change man took my order then a women came over the speaker an said it that all. Took my credit card $45 and asked me what kind of assessorys I wanted I said mix it up, never got any. Order was totally wrong never got a receipt so I could prove it. I was driving by and seen they had a special on their sign. Put my order in and waited. My fries were sitting there behind the counter and I was waiting on my fish. and chicken. Finally got the fries and they were cold. They brought new fries then had to wait on the fish and chicken. I bit into the chicken and it was a rubbery mess. Asked to speak with a manager and waited approximately another 10 minutes. She was very nice and gave me a whole new meal. Another patron was waiting for food and the staff behind the counter gave her a hard time. Arguing back and forth. I wouldn't recommend this place. The last time I visited this Long John's location was going to be my LAST visit...that was quite awhile ago. This evening I thought, why not. Give it another shot. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!! The last time the place was filthy, the manager left a lot to be desired, the fish wasnt cooked all the way thru (and she could care less). This evening we were greeted by an extremely personable and pleasant young man. Introduced himself as the new Manager. Took our order, explained the layout of the place, and brought our foods to the table, the entire time calling me "Sir". The place was clean and the food was A+!!!!! Service - 3 stars - When I first entered the restaurant, the cashier immediately said hello to me. He was very polite and accurately took my order. The food was not ready for about 15 minutes, but I did see three employees currently on break. Food - 3.5 stars - My husband's fish, shrimp, hush puppies, and fries were perfectly crispy and tasted very good. My "papa burger," a classic hamburger, tasted OK. Condition of restaurant - 1.5 stars - Booth chairs had tears, ceiling lights were broken or out, wall paint and wallpaper were peeling, plastic dividers on booths were missing, the floor was dirty, etcetera. I have never seen it so bad! A couple of months ago I bought a 3 piece fish meal. The store was out of ketchup. I ate the fries with no ketchup. Yesterday, I bought the same meal. The employee hand the box to me and it tipped over on its side before I could receive it. There was no ketchup or napkins in the order. The fries were minimal, and soggy. I don't remember it being this bad, for decades. Employee communication skills is lacking. Too often I hear too much broken English. Meh. It's a Long John Silver's, how good can it really be? Not that good. Food takes a long time, doesn't matter if the place is busy or not. Staff is usually really friendly though. Fries are the worst you can get. They're cooked in the same oil as the fish so even if you don't order fish, your fries will taste like it. I've went a couple times but it isn't the place that I would choose. Building looks old and is in a major need of a renovation. Paint peeling off the building, drive-thru speaker barely works, parking lot is terrible. Okay place for fish, but I'm sure you could find something better. read more

The bun fell apart halfway through, the patty was somewhat dry, but the veggies were fresh, and bacon is just plain hard to botch. My brother couldn't wait to eat here. There are not too many of these places left. So we had to travel to find one. The fish is still good, the cole slaw delish, the fries are good, and the crumbles are to the best part. The hush puppies are good too. love going to Long John Silver's in Rochester which they put one in Aliquippa but nevertheless they fish is always fresh for the most part they fish tacos are off the chain I love getting emails and text messages when they having specials going on so you don't really need a coupon in the mail and it's a family place where the whole family can go eat for a better reasonable price then you would have any other fast food places. read more

Came at 1pm on a Tuesday to the East Rochester, PA location on dollar Baja fish taco day. I drove 30 min out of my way cause I love the Baja Fish Tacos. They said "sorry we're out of the taco shells, would you like a single piece of fish as a substitute?" No I wanted the fish tacos, not a single piece of fish! This location always has horrible wait times and now apparently they can't even offer their specials on the designated days they have them. I always give places multiple chances but this is the 5th time I've been hugely disappointed with this location. Never again will I come out of my way to eat here. I ate lunch here MANY times when I worked in Ratchester. Like Bryan said, it's fast food, you should know what to expect. That said, I was rarely disappointed, The fish was hot, the A&W items were pretty good for fast food. If you want a tip, go to a place like this during the hours when they are fairly busy and the food is turning over and you'll get hot, fresh items. Long John Silver's (LJS) is unlike any fast food joint you'll ever eat at, being that fish and chips are the fare and theme. Sure, the food is greasy and gives you a reason to take a lazy day or two or three, but it always satisfies. My favorite is the hush puppies. While I didn't necessarily go out of my way to eat at LJS while I was at Penn State, I did always get a good bang for the buck because of the uniqueness. I've never had a bad meal here.
