Zero customer service/phone skills by their FOH staff!!! My mother made an appointment, discussed…read morewhat she needed, and received confirmation her insurance was going to cover the cost. At her appointment, she was brought back to the treatment room and started her cleaning. Half way through the cleaning, the receptionist came back and whispered to the hygienist during her cleaning. They stopped her treatment, and demanded my mother had to pay an extra $200!!!!! Feeling strong held, she paid half at the time to finish a simple cleaning. Her insurance covers cleanings!!!!!! Seniors should not be abused like this by MEDICAL STAFF! PERIOD! To make matters even worse, they called my mother, scolding her for calling her insurance company to question their claims of not covering A CLEANING! The receptionist asked my mother "did you call your insurance company what happened at your appointment?" What right does a receptionist have calling a patient and ask that kind of question. The receptionist even talked down to her, when she called to get her records transferred. They also were very difficult to get the information, that my mother paid for out of pocket!! Insanity. She needed other procedures done that ARE COVERED BY HER INSURANCE!! Again, they told her how she had to an extra $400 before receiving care. Disgusting they treat SENIORS or anyone this way. I will be filing several complaints with the appropriate authorities. I have already complained directly to her insurance company and they have had other issues here!!!

We've been bringing our two children to Falmouth Pediatric Dentistry for about two years; they have…read morehad regular check-ups / cleanings and fillings there. They are great! They offer everything you could want from a pediatric dentist - kind, enthusiastic, patient care for young patients, quick and efficient service, a clean facility, super staff. Our older child was referred here when he had trouble with a filling at our regular family dentist (kudos to Dunstan for referring us!) and Dr. Mike was so extremely caring and helpful, and was able to quickly figure out how to aid my son through his appointment and all subsequent ones. We recently also saw Dr. Willis for my younger child, and he was just as quick, exuberant and friendly as the rest of the staff. From an administrative standpoint, they are on top of things. You don't complete the same forms with each and every visit, they check you out quickly, they call to confirm appointments, and so on. Very painless from a parental perspective too! I highly recommend making Falmouth Pediatric Dentistry your child's dental office.

This practice insisted that my 4 year old was unable to have dental work done without being placed…read moreunder general anesthesia, despite the fact that he is high risk due to his BMI (he suffers from a rare genetic disorder that caused high BMI). They first scheduled the procedure to happen in January 2026, which was several months out from the initial appointment. Come January 2026, the appointment was cancelled at the last minute because the facility where it was scheduled could not accommodate a high risk case like my son's. They advised the procedure would need to happen at the Scarborough Maine Med, where I was told they had the appropriate equipment for my son's care. The new appointment was set for June 2, 2026. Last Thursday, this office called me to secure payment in advance of the procedure (just over $5k). I secured payment via CareCredit. At the end of their day on Thursday (they close at 3 and are closed on Fridays), they called to tell me my sons appointment was again cancelled due to the facility not being able to accommodate a higher risk case. I was frustrated and confused because I was told this was the very reason it was scheduled at the second location. My questions and concern were met with indifference and irritability by office staff at FPD. The woman I spoke with not only failed to place the call on hold properly so I could hear them grumbling about my concern in the background, but then told me the blame was entirely on Maine Health admissions and gave me the number to call them. Then, their office promptly closed. I spoke at length with a wonderful woman at Maine Health who explained to me that this was entirely FPD's error. She escalated the matter to her boss, who confirmed and initiated an incident report. With this, I wrote a message to FPD to express my deep disappointment in the way things were handled. No response. I had my son transferred to Just for Kids in Scarborough and they had him in for an exam this past Monday. He did extremely well with the exam and the bite wing x rays that FPD never bothered to try but claimed my son was incapable of doing (unbeknownst to me previously). The dentist at JFK assured me that not only could they take care of my son without anesthesia well before late August (which is when the appointment FPD offered would've occurred), but that some of the work proposed didn't even need to be done. In fact, with the aid of the x rays, they were able to tell that putting caps on my son's front teeth would not have been beneficial to him as I was told by FPD. The careless attitudes permeating this office are dangerous for a place that serves young children. I'm so thankful I went elsewhere.
