It was the best spot to eat after our Glacier tour. The waiter Mike was friendly and gave us the perfect beautiful glacier view deck seats. The mushroom burger was fresh and delicious. The apple cider was refreshing as well. It was the best view with delicious meal! Thanks Mike for the friendly services.

Really cute place with a beautiful view! If there's a table by the windows free get that seat. The food is pretty mediocre and average and also pricey. Both places of food were $35. It's the only restaurant in the area so after doing the glacier tour it was the only quick thing to eat without having to drive an hour into Palmer.

Long Rifle Lodge is an ideal location if you're looking for great food, great service, and great views! Stopped here for lunch on the way to Valdez and it was a very casual, welcoming atmosphere. The staff members were nice and helpful with great recommendations. I ordered the salmon tacos and also shared the blueberry crisp dessert with my friend; both were great!

What an unexpected surprise... IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE Alaska, we came to see the glacier and packed car snacks, not knowing the cutest and most delicious restaurant would be there for us to enjoy. The ambience was great and you could see the glacier from the patio, just overall, a wonderful experience.

We were looking for lunch and this was one of the only spots in the area. The food was not bad, but the glacier views through the large sweeping windows and wooden decor felt so cozy. There were lots of stuffed animals placed throughout the dining area. Alaskans sure love to hunt! $16.75 Glacier Burger - bacon cheeseburger w/ crinkle cut fries: Burger was okay, cooked decently, not too dry. $19.75 Cod Sandwich w/ onion rings: Not bad, 2 crispy fried cod filets, crunchy fried onion rings $19.75 Salmon Sandwich w/ onion rings: Salmon filet looked like it was ground into a salmon cake form All sandwiches were served with toasted ciabatta bread. $5 Blueberry Pie: This place is supposed to have good pie, so we decided to share the blueberry pie. It's alright. We had an enjoyable, filling meal. The real star of the meal was the view.

After visiting the Manuska Glacier in Alaska our guide took us to the Long Rifle Lodge for lunch. The service and food were great. My wife and I both had hamburgers with fries which were both good. The restaurant was decorated with wild taxidermy animals and have a great view of the Glacier.

DON'T PASS THIS PLACE! Looks like a rural hole in the wall in the middle of a RV park, but it is a well kept, small restaurant and bar. Very well lit, with an excellent collection of large stuffed animals and WONDERFUL Glacier view (for now). This is a great stop along the Glenallen Highway for lunch, especially for children. (Don't touch the animals) They are struggling, like rest of AK, with hiring but our server was awesome and checked on us often. Standard fish sandwiches and hamburgers. It was totally warm and welcoming. This is a standout restaurant. I wanted to visit on the way back from the national park, but we were running a little late. I highly recommend stopping in. Definitely try out the deserts, which are mostly local, homemade pies with or without ala mode.

This is a really unique place in the area. With all the stuffed toys for the big macho man and the amazing scenic background of Matanuska glacier makes this place a culinary and visual delight. After our hectic hike up the glacier, our tour guide Lori took us here for a filling lunch. I opted for salmon sandwich with came with onion rings. The salmon tasted fresh and it came on a warm ciabatta bread. The onion rings were super crispy. For dessert I got their homemade Rhubarb pie on a recommendation of our guide and I am glad I tried it. Never thought Rhubarb can go in a dessert. But it worked. Loved it. Colt served us and he was easy to talk to, gave us quick service and made sure we were well attended. The staff also took care of our guide's tab that was nice of them. Highly recommend.

This long rifle café is a fantastic fun restaurant for family and friends to go to after the glacier. Their burgers were awesome, service was great and atmosphere has that fun, Alaska lodge experience. They also had great beers on tap from midnight Sun! I highly recommend this place!

Everyone says you have to stop this please but for some reason I was always scared to go in by myself. But today I went in and I'm very glad that I did. It was a beautiful day and I sat outside overlooking the glacier which is such an incredible site. I ordered a Pilsner and a garden salad which was super super inexpensive for Alaska, only $10. What a bargain. I had a nice chat with the owner and his dog visited me while I ate. It was more like he stared at me waiting for me to give him some thing but nonetheless he kept me company. Great conversation. Some history. Tips for travel and exploration. Thanks so much.

    The glacier view!

Just happened across this place while exploring Alaska. Great food, and friendly and helpful staff! We had Blueberry chipotle salmon fish tacos, and chicken strips and fries. Best fish tacos i have ever had, was warned the tacos had some spice, being from AZ wasnt worried, but they were actually pretty spicy! French fries, and chicken strips were perfectly crisp! Highly recommend stopping in if you can!! And with the Beautiful view of the glacier, you would regret it if you didnt stop here!

First of all, shame on Yelp's listing system for not letting me list the Instagram account of this…read morebusiness as their website. So many foodtrucks use their IG or their FB to broadcast their locations, and many don't have a traditional dub-dub-dub website. Here's the good for KotM: FB: https://www.facebook.com/kingofthemountainak/ IG: https://www.instagram.com/kingofthemountainak/ I've been trying to get to this food truck for quite some time, but have never been able to catch them. I know the owner (Travis) from the climbing community, he's probably one of the most passionate, skilled ice climbers I know! In the non-climbing world, he's been the chef at various restaurants in the area (the first one the comes to mind is Seven Glaciers in Girdwood). He largely does events now (think: weddings, festivals, private events, etc.), and that's where I was able to catch him! Detour: as someone from the South, I am triggered by the careless use of the word "BBQ" outside of The South. When someone invites me over for a "BBQ" I expect that they've been smokin' meats (mainly pig) since 4am. When I just find burgers and hot dogs...I get sad. Back on track: I caught KotM at the Mountaineering Club of Alaska's annual Summer Cookout (bless your heart MCA, for not saying BBQ). But guess what? He MADE ACTUAL BBQ! There was tons of luscious, juicy pork with all the fixin's of new and old: fruit, potato salad, quinoa, desserts, etc. There were a handful of homemade BBQ sauces in squeeze bottles. The whole thing was perfect. Thank you MCA for setting my expectations low, and thank you KotM for blowing them outta the water!
