This a bar with burgers and sandwiches. Burger was very good and came with a salad or fries. I would stop here again.

We stayed there for one night and ate at the restaurant. The restaurant had great view of the glacier. The food was so so and expensive. The younger waitress was kind of rude to her customers. This place is a diamond in the rough! I get a little worried staying at random places in the middle of nowhere when I am traveling alone, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this little gem! Their dog is adorable, the view is amazing, the wait staff and the cook are so incredibly sweet, and the food is delicious. read more

Delicious food and a beautiful view! Stumbled across this little gem by accident, wouldn't of ever known it was there! Great food, nice sized simple menu. Number One: This place is what you need as far as lodging is concerned - no more, no less. Number Two: The resident dogs here are very friendly & super cute. Number Three: The people who run this place are really nice. I loved giving my money to local, sweet people. *yay* Number Four: The breakfast here is freaking GOOD. I wasn't here long enough to have any other meals. Number Five: The taxidermy in the dining area is creepy as hell. It can be hard to enjoy a nice breakfast & bask in the view of a nearby glacier when you feel the eyes of a half dozen dead animals on you. It's like ShowBiz Pizza took a dark, dark turn. The view of Matanuska glacier is spectacular while eating dinner at this quiet, but intriguing lodge along the Glenn highway. The rhubarb pie was amazing, and a great finish to a remarkable meal. I had the fish tacos and vegetable barley soup. The staff matched the perfection of location and is a "must stop" along the the scenic Glenn Highway. read more

This is a lodge that is right next to MICA adventures, and was convenient to stay here because I was doing the icefall trek with MICA adventures. PROS: VIEW VIEW VIEW!!! The restaurant as well as the guest rooms have a great VIEW of the matanuska glacier. OMG!! Clean room. Clean towels beds I got the private room with microwave coffeemaker and fridge. So that was great! for just under 100$ with the view. great deal. If you are ok with sharing bathroom, the price goes down to 80$/night. sweet deal for a busy time in alaska Good food at the restaurant. Classic american salads, soups sandwiches and burgers but was still good CONS: No Wifi (this was a little crippling because there is no service on the phones here) The exhaust fan seemed to bother the residents. If i had the money I would buy the place and do a makeover. It is a such a gem and while the exhaust and the heater are issues one cannot solve, the wifi is an easy to solve problem. read more

We ate here yesterday and we're satisfied with it. We lucked out and got a table next to the window and had a great waitress, who was polite and efficient. Our sandwiches and fries tasted good, so no complaints there. All in all, for the price and service and everything, this is a good place to come eat at. read more

Stay away from this convenient tourist trap. It may have a long standing because of its undeniably great view of the Matanuska Glacier, wonderful taxidermied animals, and a clean facility, but the representation of good American food made me sad and wish I hadn't gone. The glacier burger was gross...the beef was grossly and not fresh, they didn't ask how I wanted it cooked so I knew it wasn't going to be a fresh beef patty, and the sauce was not good. Mayo and horse radish was all I could taste. The fries were pale and from a freezer bag with no salt, the tacos were dry and tried to have flare, but ultimately a blueberry chipotle sauce doesn't make up for poor or poorly treated ingredients. McDonald's would be better. The service left a lot to be desired too. I wasn't greeted by two employees that I passed on my way in, and the one sitting at the register right at the door didn't let me know or have a sign that showed me he was also the person to seat us. I ended up looking around before looking back at him and saying, "there's 4 of us..." he said, "you can sit anywhere," handed me 4 menus and I picked a table. Service was as good as a teenage boy can do, but slow after taking our order and didn't get back to us about the desserts we originally had asked about so we ended up not getting any based on that and the fact that the main food was not good. Take a few minutes extra drive to find a better meal and better service. Someone needs to open a better representation of American food nearby and fast!! I feel bad for the people from other countries who try this and think this is how we eat! read more

Rustic place smack dab in the center of scenic beauty. Large windows that offer outstanding views of gorgeous mountains and the glacier, and the seating was very comfortable, one could sit for a very long time and bask in your surroundings. The burger was tasty and well prepared, and the caramel apple crisp ala' mode was wonderful. Our coffee cups were always filled, and the young man who attended to us was very pleasant and a delight. If I could request just one thing it would be a few more fries on my plate. It was a wonderful Sunday drive and a great dinner to top off my day, and I look forward to a return visit very soon. read more

Hunger is the best gravy. After hiking a glacier, our tour company took us here to get some food. I may be biased because I had worked up a hunger, but my burger really hit the spot. The whole restaurant is owned and operated by a delightful married couple. If you happen to find yourself in Glacier View, I would recommend beating here. read more

We were having tire problems today on our way home so we stopped here to see if they could help us. The two men who helped us were fantastic (even in the pouring rain). I've been going to this restaurant since 2007. The food is edible and the view is amazing. But this time was very different. My group attempted to pet two dogs that approached to our vehicle as we arrived in the empty parking lot. They obviously lived on the property and were friendly. Immediately, the owner barked at us not to feed the dogs. Which in itself was not acceptable. There is a polite way to asked other adults to follow certain rules. The word please comes to mind. We were not going to feed the dogs. This is not to how to treat potential customers or anyone above the age of 12. A few moments later we were screamed at once again because someone in our group was smoking "near the dogs and on the property". I understand wanting to have a smoke free property. It is a completely reasonable request. But there is a better way to deal with a situation when you own a business or are a reasonably polite person. We left immediately. Obviously, I will not return to this restaurant. This is simply not socially acceptable behavior and to tell you the truth we have been laughing about how ridiculous it all was for days. I am however disappointed I will not see the friendly dogs again. read more

So I went into the restaurant and was quite pleased with the different decorations around the lodge. And then this stuffed bear caught my eyes. I asked the young man working there if I could take a picture with it. He told me yes, so naturally I stripped off all my clothing and hopped on its back (rode it bearback, funny right?). That Voldemort nosed, balding piece of trash told me I had to leave, even though he clearly told me I could. I have never been so displeased with any staff in my life than I was with that guy. All in all though, five stars. read more
