When you go inside Liberty Drug, you will see that it's set-up is messy and doesn't look clean…read more Everything in there seems dated back to the 1970s. I am posting today because of Liberty Drug's terrible customer service. My doctor put in an order for a compound to be made for me and Liberty Drug is slow (generally speaking, my experience is that their turnaround is over a week). Specifically, I placed my compound order a week and a half ago. At the time, I told them that I wanted the "small tube" TWICE during the phone call. Today, around 12:30pm, they called to say that my compound was ready for pickup. Approximately 3pm, I went to pick up it. They made the larger tube for me (which is about $40 more). The pharmacist stated that they needed to remake it. Then, the cashier said that it will be a 10-20 minutes wait. I was confused on the wait time knowing that it takes them a while to make compounds. So, I asked to speak with the manager. When I went to speak to the manager about this to understand my wait time, he blamed me for this issue (remember, all I wanted to know was how long it will take to remake my compound). He said that since this has happened twice with my order (it happened once before a year or two ago), he said that it was my fault. He did not look to his employees as the source of error. The lady next to him said that I needed to specify how many milliliter (ml) tube I wanted. I said that I would not know the ml size of this compound. This is not something that I look at or consider - would you know how many ml (or ounces) is your toothpaste? I said that the person who took my order should (and could) have clarified the size and cost, especially since I mentioned twice that I wanted the "small tube". But, this person did not. This person just hurried up and hung up after taking my order (he was abrupt and rushed during this call). So, the manager outright blamed me. He did not look to his people and their obligation to clarify the order. He did not look into his management failings to train his staff to ask the right questions. He had no consideration that it took them a week and a half to give me my order and that I drove approximately 30 minutes to go there on a very cold day. With that said, I have found the cashiers to be very friendly over the years, although there is a lot of turnover. Based on my experiences at Liberty Drug, they are not a well-oiled machine. Their processes and communications are similar to the store set-up - messy, not clean and outdated.

I highly recommend morristown pharmacy at 95 Madison ave. In the same building as doctors. On first floor past elevators on right. It is very accessible.Like a family. They are wonderful there. Made my prescription transfers so easy. Staff is great. Calls me when medications are do for renewal. If you are looking for a family pharmacy like rite aid please go to morristown pharmacy. You will be happy. I love it there. Im a nurse so of course im worried more about my medicines. They are so friendly to talk to and answers my questions about my medicines expertly. Finding a good pharmacy is always a lengthy search. Most of the big box pharmacies such a CVS,…read moreRight Aid and Walgreens do you have such cheaper prices it almost makes going through with the continuous frustration and hardships just to achieve the simplest tasks. From being short staffed to feeling way too many prescriptions they always seem to give you the worst looks when they ask when you plan on picking up your prescription and you have the "nerve" to tell them you'd be waiting for it. If there ever is any sort of problem that they might have to call the insurance company the doctor or something might be out of stock it will take you 30 to 45 minutes easily before they call you to the counter to tell you you have to go elsewhere. That's why I was glad to find out that the ShopRite pharmacy in Phillipsburg New Jersey is the best alternative to dealing with the headaches and frustration that you will undoubtably encounter in all of these "super" drugstores. The prices are fair while they may be a little bit more expensive than the big box of chains there definitely reasonable the staff is friendly and they're always well supplied with enough people working behind the counter so that your wait time is greatly diminished. I don't think I've ever encountered a situation where they were out of stock of any medicine nor have I had any issues with them needing to contact someone from my insurance company or doctors office either. I still remember the first time I used their pharmacy they gave me a 20 to 30 minute wait time for my prescription refilled and then I added bonus to be inside a grocery store I took the time to go pick up a few items within five minutes they are calling my name in the loudspeaker I was sure it was to tell me something without a stocker there was some issue but no my order was ready and I was out the door faster than I've been at any of the bigger chains. I advise anyone that has prescriptions to fill especially on a regular basis plan it around your shopping trips and just drop them off and by the time you're finished getting your groceries you will be pleasantly surprised :-)
