Love this store. It has all the essentials I need plus special items not typically found in other markets - some PA brands. The rotisserie chicken is the best! This is a pretty solid supermarket with a good layout to it as are most of the Weis Markets. I recently made the trek out this way on a recon mission looking for the basics which now have become anything but "basic" necessities. Long story short, they did have a decent amount of meat, iced teas, cookies, and produce but as you would expect, toilet paper and bottled water were long gone. Note; I will in-no-way be holding any of this against the store and I still feel that this is a very good place to get your grocery shopping done. I use this store periodically from time to time to get a few odds and ends bc it's conveniently located. Not a great selection and some items stay on the shelves longer than they should. Most employees are helpful, with a few notable exceptions. The checkout, especially the self checkout , is antiquated and a disaster even for the most simple transactions. Recently had 2 items at check out and the scanner unit stalls out and notifies you loudly and repeatedly that help is on the way. . . . and for no logical reason, and help is usually NOT on the way. Tried a different scanner. . . . same result. Handwriting was on the wall, left my items behind and just made a hasty exit. Stick with Shop Rite. . . Self check-out works 98% of the time & folks there always take care of you for any issue that may arise. read more

If you want to get fresh cut fruit that is not rotten, head over to Acme. Literally 10/10 times I've gotten fruit from Weis markets and they've always been well past their prime and are rotting/slimy in their container. Don't believe me? Go buy Cantaloupe from both stores, "fresh cut" and compare the two. It is insulting that Weis is trying to sell us rotten food unfit for even prisoners. read more

Staff very helpful.. Dealt with meat department to look for a specific cut, staff member spent the time to get what I wanted out of back room. Front end staff very nice as well. At times I use the Weis 2 Go service, they generally come through. A man was at the self-checkout not wearing mask. I did a double take & the employee who was in charge of the area asked me if I needed help. I pointed out my concern & the employee said nothing to him. The man did apologize saying he didn't realize he wasn't wearing one (a whole other issue). After the man left, I asked the employee if she noticed and she said she didn't. I find that hard to believe considering she was no more than 10 ft from him & noticed my looking in his direction, which was also her direction. How did this customer manage to walk through the store without anyone offering him a mask or asking him to leave? The number of positive cases are rising. I'd think Weis would want to keep their customers & staff safe. I guess not. read more

They just closed the pharmacy in Weis Flanders with no notice to patients. No email nothing. That is horrible customer service. The store has been going down hill for a while. Seafood department was a joke. They were trying to sell me frozen lobster tails that looked like they were in an open box for years. I often tried to do my shopping at Weis to support a local smaller chain but often had to go to ShopRite to get most other things. read more

Tonight, a male cashier who was a teenager age rudely and sarcastically verbally told me twice "Whatever' as his verbal response when I did not understand what he was doing for me while in the front area of the store. The Front Manager was surprised when I told her of what this male teenage cashier said to me two times tonight. Finally the Front Manager said that she will talk to this cashier that he cannot respond nor talk to customers in that way. I finally went to the customer service desk to pay for my groceries instead. I do appreciate that in this store, the cat food cans are cheaper than in other local supermarkets. read more

I went shopping on my lunch break today and I must have dropped my little change purse that contained my engagement and wedding rings! I realized they were missing hours later after work! I ran back there and I asked customer service, not only did they find it and realize it was irreplaceable but they had locked it up in their safe to make sure it would stay safe!!! I am truly so thankful from the bottom of my heart!! I would like to thank the entire staff, it is such a wonderful store and I'm going to do all my shopping here!! alway have been a shoprite fan, but the people at Weis marker Flanders are over the top nice. Willam the guy in the meat departatment afternoons always greets us with a smile and helps us with our Kosher Chicken purchases. This is my local supermarket. It's a bit smaller than the other guy, but it's more manageable. The produce selection is fair, but you've got to watch expiration dates . It's an efficient store, but you can tell that the young checkout staff would rather be anywhere else but at work (I've noticed high turnover). Elizabeth in the floral department is amazing-- she seems to always be there and working -- and the floral department is head and shoulders better than any of the local competitors because of her commitment to detail and good service. Bakery and deli departments are pretty good too and the cooked foods (rotisserie/fried chicken, etc....) is really tasty. The prices are good and it's usually not too busy. read more

Awful organization. If you want canned goods be prepared to search the store, they're spread out in Ethnic Foods(tomatoes and beans), Baking Goods(pie filling, canned milk products, canned pumpkin and sweet potatoe), Premade Goods(canned ravioli/spaghettios). Most stores put ALL CANNED GOODS in one aisle. The signs in each aisle are so basic its nearly impossible to find what you want if you aren't extremely familiar with the store! Also far more expensive than every other store for produce.. By a long shot! Several times I've had to ask an employee where a particular item is and they don't know! How is that acceptable? I go with a shopping list and leave with less than 75% of the items I came for because I simply couldn't find them! Also... bread costs 30% more at Weis than it does at 711! read more

If I posted this rating 6 months ago, I would have given them maybe 4 stars because of their awesome coupons and being open 24 hours (I sometimes need to shop late). Like the rater below, I was dismayed first when their $20 off purchase of $100 and $8 off purchase of $50 coupons changed to $10 and $5 off, then even more disappointed when I learned I needed to spend $150 to use both (wasn't like that before). Their regular, non-sales prices are actually pretty high. Their produce looks good in the store, but goes bad very fast. Their meats are mediocre at best. I don't even bother with their deli counter. There was a "less than nice" lady working the first time I went and they don't have a convenient menu board for the meats and cheeses available like ShopRite. The lady said "Well, this ain't ShopRite". Wrong answer. Their selection of packaged lunchmeats is terrible. I will say the staff overall is very nice. The customer service desk and managers helped me a couple times and the cashiers are always nice (5 stars for you!). They sometimes offer good buy-one-get-one-free specials and bulk deals on things if you buy 10 of certain items. However, without the kickass coupons, it's just not worth it unless I'm a doomsday prepper stocking up the coffers. Sorry Weis, I'm sticking with ShopRite. read more

Well, what can I say? While completing my two hundred dollar weekly Saturday morning shopping, I began my check out oddessey. The ONLY open lane with a HUMAN to check out such a large order was very busy with with a long line with customers with similarly large orders. Would they open more lanes? Of course not. The employees were too busy speaking of their weekend plans or too busy holding up the walls... When I pleaded for more cashiers at the point of sale, one actually muttered, "we don't make the schedule, a computer does." With a GREAT $20 off your $100 purchase in hand, I headed out to do my first Weis shop. I has high hopes and was looking for a ShopRite alternative. While the store is fresh and new and clean, there are a few key reasons they will not become my go-to grocers: 1. Poor signage in general, especially in the deli and produce sections. I had a terrible time trying to figure out what was on sale. Very difficult to compare pricing. 2. All the gluten free and organic is in one section several aisles in. So, your frozen organic is soggy by the end of your shop. It also does not allow you to compare organic to non-organic options in the appropriate section. 3. Cheese section too small for my liking. 4. Found overall pricing to be on average higher than ShopRite. That being said, customer service was very good. Everyone was friendly. They have staff offering to help bring your groceries to your car and someone met me in the parking lot to return my cart as well. I'll go back -- but only with great coupons. read more

Worst place ever!! I came in for a simple money order, which I usually go somewhere else for but this place was right around the corner from work so I figured it'd be more convenient. Wrong!! Waited in line for 10+ minutes, then was told they only accepted cash for western union money orders. Since when has anyone not accepted debit cards as cash?? I don't no who goes and withdrawals hundreds of dollars in cash or just laying around just to get a money order. If I did I wouldn't be getting a money order. read more

Awful organization. I used Western Union services,the front desk person. was nasty,unprofessional. this person slammed my ID on top of the counter,slammed the money on top the counter. I asked another employee while waiting,why it was always a wait. she answered well I don't make the schedule,you can call the corporate office asked them. live near flanders weis and flanders shoprite. Been to many of the same stores. For some reason these 2 flanders "super" markets are inferior to their counterparts. No real competition between them - they are both poor. One big problem is they don't have people at the registers. Wies is the worst. One register open and all the rest closed. Hear the dum statement to use the auto register. They do not work well with coupons and items w/o a bar code. They also give false messages such that you need to find an employee to continue. I just quit and go to another machine or the real checkout. Do not purchase ice cream or frozen products at these stores. read more

I love Weis Markets. Every time I go to visit my Mother over in Flanders it's a great experience. From the moment I walk in my mother and I have a day that is lit up by faces eager to help and assist. Except this one manager who I have found the need after three times to point out. Always lacking a smile, always unwilling to assist and constantly on her phone and uncaring for a better word. Always in the front not assisting or caring. Her name on the name tag is Lisa. Honestly my mother and I have debated going back to Weis Market because of solely her. Her unprofessionalism and behavior is incomprehensible. Please find a way to correctively fix her behavior and attitude. No one like this should be in charge of such a high spirited beautiful place. read more

Weis markets are horrible. They push their brand on you for everything. They reduce the stock of the brands I use and have used for over 30 years. Their meats are not the best their Deli is horrible. They spend more time digging through the deli cases looking for what the customer wants then they do slicing it. When my store went from Mars to Weis my bill went up about 100 a week. I have started shopping at Food Lion now and save about 60 a week. Can not stand this store. I MISS MARS! read more

Love the kid-friendly shopping carts, love that I don't need a quarter to use a shopping cart, love the cleanliness of the store, love the $20 off $100 order and $8 off a $50 order coupons they mail out, love that they accept checks without an attitude like a close-by competitor gives people! Not the greatest selection on products, it's a smaller store than others in the area so if they don't carry what you want you have to ask them to order it for you - which they do! I have not tried the online shopping service yet but plan to in the future. read more

I started shopping at the weis in hackettstown sometime in 2013 and fell in love with their online shopping service. You select your groceries online, go to the store, they take the payment at your car and load the groceries in for you! Other stores offer this for a much higher fee so I was happy to find a store that was cheaper. Grocery shopping with 3 kids has never been my favorite thing to do. I was thrilled to discover they were opening this store in flanders (I think they opened back in 2014?) and I've shopped at this store pretty much since it opened, sometimes in the store and sometimes online. At first, the store was great. Things were well organized and clean, staff was friendly and attentive, I was happy to take the trip out of my way to go someplace nicer than shoprite. Over the past few months I've noticed a decline in the quality of produce. I've also noticed a lot of expired items on shelves (sometimes the deli meat in the refrigerated section is expired by as much as 3 weeks!) also expired yogurt in the dairy section. If it were once or twice I'd understand but its been several times, entire shelves of things. I really have to be careful when I shop there. My biggest issue (and really the reason for the 1 star rating) comes from the last time I ordered groceries online. My bill came to $197 and change. The cashier came to my car to charge my card ( they use a handheld credit card machine when they come outside) and messed up when entering the charge, she accidentally charged me for $1974.30!!! She went in the store presumably to cancel the charge but somehow put the charge through. The assistant manager came out to explain the situation. He assured me the money may show in my account as an authorization hold but that the money wouldn't actually leave the account, the charge wouldn't go through and it would be ok Just in case he submitted a refund and handed me a reciept for that transaction. He was going to call someone to make sure and if there was going to be a problem he'd give me a call. No call was recieved and a few days later the charge has posted to my account,but no credit is showing on my account, and I can't pay my mortgage because Weis made an error that they have no way of immediately fixing. I called them back and got excuses and apologies, none of which will put money in my bank account that shouldn't have been taken out in the first place. I was told that the refund was issued and it was "my bank" that was holding it up. I called my bank, they don't hold refunds, in fact they don't even see the refund transaction in my account. They said sometimes it takes up to 5 business days for a refund to show and I should wait 5 days, then file a dispute which will take another 10 days. GREAT! I will NEVER shop here again, and if you do I suggest you watch VERY carefully when they're charging you. I'm not usually the kind of person to leave nasty reviews but this is ridiculous. There's absolutely no reason why I should have to wait for my money to be put back in my account when it wasn't my error in the first place. Editing to add: I called on Monday (3/30/2015) and spoke with someone from their corporate office. She said she'd look into the matter. The money is now (8 days later) back in my bank account but I've heard nothing from the corporate office or the store manager to follow up/apologize. My review stays the same, and I will not shop at Weis again as they clearly do not care about their customers. read more

Love the new Weiss better then shop rite it's clean ,and there 24hrs ..they have a lot more selection then shop rite ... They have quality food but need get rid of the fruit loops ...I forgot my coupon and the young cashier said no worries just bring it in next time and will give u gift card it was the spend 100 and 20 off coupon and that's a big deal when I'm on welfare and can't feed my kids and the manager says " I'm so sowrrrrry sir like there's nothing we can do ".... I've always been one to shop at shoprite, but I do make my way to Weis after hours when shoprite is closed or when Weis just has a product that shoprite doesn't carry. My past two experiences have been awful and I don't think I will ever go back. Both instances took place at the self checkout. The first instance I was waiting for at least 5-10 minutes for the front end attendant to verify the weight change on my self checkout. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON USING THE SELF CHECKOUT!!!! The whole time I was waiting they were standing around and talking and not even paying attention to my trying to get their attention. I ended up just leaving my stuff behind and walking out. I don't even think they noticed. That is pathetic! The second instance again took place because of the weight change. This time after trying to get the front end attendant who was texting on her cell phone, I finally got her attention after probably close to five minutes. I said to her that I needed assistance and she looks at me and says In an incredibly nasty tone, "you need to swipe your card on the pinpad" excuse me???? Don't talk to me like I don't know how to use a self checkout. It clearly says on the screen that store approval is needed to continue!!! I wasn't even ready to begin paying yet. So finally once that was cleared up I pay and the receipt doesn't print and again it took my forever to get her attention because she was standing there texting. So I go up to her and interrupt her and tell her I didn't get s receipt and she needs to fix it. After these two instances I am DONE with this store. There is never anybody in this store and the most registers I've ever seen open at one time is just one register. Shoprite has busy self checkouts with lines at all times and I've NEVER had to deal with this BS on the self checkouts there and they have an excuse to not realize assistance is needed! And the fact that their employees blatantly text on their phones in the open is horrible and I've never seen that one time at shoprite in all of my years shopping there. I live in Chester, but shop at Weis in Flanders. The friendly staff and fresh food keeps me going back! Shop Rite in Chester could learn from management at Weis! I started going when I got the $20 off $100/$8 off $50 coupons (which were stackable early on, no longer though), in addition to some high value coupons, in the mail. When shopping carefully and buying sale items plus the coupons, I got some great deals. Overall, though, their prices are quite high, so you have to know your prices and see what is worth getting there. Their organic selection is not very good, dairy in particular. Like other stores, they have an organic/natural section, but then a lot of organic items are in other sections instead. They seem to have problems with keeping foods refrigerated; their green beans get slimy fast, and there is one locally-made/distributed item that is often moldy, even when it is well before the expiration date. (I have bought this item from many other places before, and never had this problem, whereas I have experienced it at least 4 times at Weis). Nowadays, the coupon mailers are for $10 off $100/$5 off $50, and the fliers no longer have the coupons for free/highly discounted items. Their employees are very friendly, nice, helpful and accommodating, by and large. The store is non-union. I love the 24-hour-ness, which is rare around here.
