Stopped here a few times before Slow slow slow. Ok. Nothing spectacular. They have a following. Food is ok. Nothing truly above normal. They do offer more than just the burgers they serve. i keep trying this place cause its by my house, and they are local, but i keep getting "meh" meals. and $20 as a lone diner is pricey for "meh". best known as a burger joint, but i remembered they also had fish - and i'd enjoyed it in the past. my last visit, i had a lackluster burger, cold bun, not much sear, more steam on the meat, tots coulda used more time in the fryer or hotter oil. not "bad", but "meh". so i PATIENTLY waited THIRTY - yes 3 - 0 minutes for my order. yes, it was friday, busy - but not bustling. i went up to check when people who came in WAY later were already eating. too 5 or so minutes after that. and after all that wait, i got cold green beans, O-rings made mostly from the extra chunky - extra tough outer rings and rectangular fish blocks. not the freestyle pieces i remembered. the plus was o-rings & fish were hot and not very greasy. the fish was flaky, white and DRY and the batter was tough. i dont know that i've ever had a batter that was hard to tear, cut or chew. did i complain, no. should i have, probably. but i've been here about half a dozen times this year. and have had 1 meal that ranked higher than "meh".so in my mind, this is what they do. people seem to like it, but i will skip going here. i try to be VERY honest in my reviews. but i expect good service & good food for my $. no complaints about service. but food has not been consistent. read more

Waited 33 minutes for the chili cheese fries my daughter ordered for her meal. Reminded staff we were still waiting on chili cheese fries, then they started to make them, proceeded to give them to a staff member sitting in the dining area & when I asked "Where is the order I'm still waiting on?" They said "we're making them" 33 minutes after I ordered them & 10 minutes after I was told they were being made. My sister ordered the famous "Big Juicy" & we didn't know that meant it would be swimming in mayo and mustard. Patty slid all the way out the bun that was tearing apart before she was even half through eating it. Service & quality was so awful we definitely won't be back & I recommend your family save your time and money & go some place else. read more

The entire experience feels like they are very annoyed to have you in their restaurant. We have been coming to LC for years- off and on. This is the first time they only bothered to even unlock half the doors. The only entry door unlocked in the one clearly marks "EXIT ONLY"- which left us wondering if they were even open. There was no line when we ordered, and the cashier was definitely not happy to be disturbed w something so trivial as taking an order. The food took FOREVER to get and when we got it, the burgers were over done to the point of being awful. The fries didn't arrive until 5 min after the burger. The tots were good. I think we will stay with the Blanco Rd location from now on. This one consistently sucks. read more

First time visiting Monday, August 4 about 3:00pm. Not what I expected in a 'cafe'. You walk in, order and sit till they call your name and go get your food. The cashier seemed distracted but friendly, gave us some recommendations. Grandson had chicken tenders and fries, they were large fillets and he wasn't able to eat all of it. I got a regular cheese burger and my Mom got a turkey & provolone sandwich. The burger & sandwich came with everything (mayo, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions). We split the sandwiches so we could some of each. They came with a side and we got onion rings and sweet potato fries. Everything was tasty. The onion rings could have been a little crisper, but they were good. The decor was mainly sports memorabilia with a few drink signs and mounted antlers/heads. Sorry forgot to get pics of the food as I was hungry, lol. Would definitely go back to try other items. read more

Went in to pick up order for uber. Had me wait 25 minutes before they even acknowledge me. The so-called manager (he wasn't) handed me the order, I said it has a drink. He placed a cup on the counter and was rude and said it wasn't his job to get the drink. I told him he was rude and he withheld the order until my partner went in. And he was rude to him as well. The girl was in the phone with her EarPods in and ignored everything. No gloves worn while cooking. I do not recommend this place. It's like dicks last resort without the food. read more

2 stars cause the food is good but they're out of quite literally everything , bacon , jalapenos, 6 out of 12 sodas , staff is bitter and more focused on gossip then helping customers . Food was decent after waiting on a to go order, sat there waiting 15 minutes when it was on the counter by the cashier and I told them I was picking up. Yes, food does take time, but when I'm sitting right there and she sees me and nothing. The manager had to ask me if I was waiting after seeing me sit there for a while. I came here with some friends after an event feeling really hungry. We arrived here in time before the lunch rush came in, so we were able to get our order in quickly. You order the food in the front, and you find yourself a seat until they call your name to get your food at the counter. There were a good number of tables that really needed to be cleaned up and had trays/trash left on that remained even after we left the place. I'm not sure they were short staff that day but was unfortunate. The staff mentioned dropping one of our burgers by accident and working to cook us a fresh one quickly when our name was called. I did appreciate them being attentive to my friend to get them new burger and they were very nice. I had ordered a guacamole burger, which was decent. They really did lay the guacamole and toppings on this burger but didn't find it fancy or anything. Fries and tots were decent though and my friends said they liked their burger a lot, which was a veggie burger. It was a decent pit stop for a quick bit to eat. This is one of the worst experiences I've had at this place and I doubt that I will be back. Been here a few times food was always good. Service was as good to be expected, restaurant fairly clean.. but this last time was the last time I will order from here. Order three burgers, fry basket and a Longhorn nacho. Ordered it to go at 1:35 did not receive my order until 220. While sitting there, I noticed they were not bagging up my to go order even though I had been sitting there for 10 minutes ( didn't get there till 1:55) then come to find out all the burgers have been made. The french fries were made and then they had to fry chips for nachos, remember had ordered 35 minutes ago on a to go order. So while they cook cooked fresh chips, all my food sat there and getting cold. When you spend as much money as it cost to go out to eat nowadays and then tip on top of it to have stuff like this happen is just unacceptable. Good luck longhorn cafe. read more

I'm truly sad that I have to update my review, honestly I couldn't even believe it! It's like right after I wrote that review I was in the restaurant again and the food was nothing like how it had always been in the past. Always fresh. This time, and honestly all the times since, and I've been to different locations hoping for better results, but it was just the same, I always ordered the BLT and now it appears they're serving the leftover breakfast bacon which I don't mind but it's still COLD! They don't even heat it up for my sandwich! Now that's just sad and really it's never crispy, actually practically raw and I always ask for it to be crispy! Stopped in due to a craving for a burger & onion rings 'to-go'. My 'shroom & Swiss burger on gluten-free bun was meh'. The HUGE disappointment was the darn crappy onion crust (was supposed to be onion rings-but have a look at my pics and you be the judge). By far the worst onion rings I've ever had. Definitely not worth $14+, just grab a Whataburger and save yourself the frustration. I really would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this Longhorn, I have had more satisfying food at other Longhorn locations. If I lived closer, I would have take this crap back for a refund. To go order for an Impossible burger with fries and a drink. Order came to $19. Ouch. I know places up charge for impossible meat but dang. I guess since I got cheese too it blew up the order. I had high hopes for this, but it didn't pan out. I was told they are a great place for burgers. That was not my experience. The lettuce was crisp, good looking and tasting veggies. Just no taste to the burger. Even the fries were sad. Not crisp at all. Overall not a good food experience. The service was good. The waitress was super nice. But my food was just food. The young lady behind the counter that took the order looked petrified. Hope it wasn't my sweet mom and myself to blame. The Chicken Fries Steak was amazing. Large portion (almost too big) yeah right. Mom loved her burger. The disappointment was not finding out there were no mashed potatoes when ordering. Again, not earth shattering. A heads up would have been nice but found out when picking up the food. Ordered a substitute side (easy) arrived when we were through after watching same girl parade to every occupied table including the large baby shower before finally finding us. Food was great! I know it's difficult to take an order but we are not going to take it anymore. So today family went for lunch and of course the forget items. $45 for 2 burgers and one hotdog we ordered a half and half basket but that never made it to us. Now I knew people that worked at this longhorn and the number one thing you don't do is ask for or return food. Have you ever seen the movie Waiting with Ryan Reynolds's? Well this place is where they got the idea for the movie. Hopefully one day public schooling and recovery clinics will teach how to pay attention because this place needs that big time! I've been to three Longhorn Cafes and this one had the best flavored food. The mushrooms and onion rings are a must and the burgers are seasoned well and very tasty. The price is reasonable. I recommend this place for an elevated burger experience above fast-food and other SA mainstays like Chester's. read more

Louis took our order & he was fantastic! He was very friendly. That's a great way to start a dining out experience. The chicken fried steak was one of the most tender chicken fried steaks I have ever had. It was sooo good! The outside was crisp & the meat was juicy. The gravy was creamy. Fried okra was fresh. The serving of mashed potatoes was pretty sad though. It looked like it might've been scooped w an ice cream scoop. When ordering a chicken fried steak w two sides I have never gotten such a tiny serving of mashed potatoes anywhere, ever. Potatoes are cheap. This isn't where the restaurant should be stingy. My bf had the burger. It looked good in my photo but I should've taken a photo fr the side or after he bit it. The patty was so thin! He said it was just a bland under seasoned basic burger w a thin meat patty. He will eat anything & even he was disappointed with this burger. He left almost half of it. Idk if I've ever seen him do that in 14 years! The atmosphere is casual & the restaurant is clean. I watched the staff as they walked around & if anything was dropped on the floor it was swept up immediately by Robert & the min someone left Carissa was at the table picking up the dishes & wiping down the table. I recently had the chance to visit Longhorn cafe and it did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken burger which included lettuce, tomato and cheese and I added mayo. The chicken patties were so juicy and grilled to perfection. I ordered a side of onion rings and they were so big!! I did need a little more salt for my liking but overall a great side choice. The cashier was very helpful and waited patiently as I made up my mind. Great little place for a good burger and a cold beverage. read more

The chicken Caesar salad was super disappointing. It's $11 on the menu and the lettuce was completely brown and wilted. There was no croutons. Only stale packets of saltines. No fresh Parmesan. The place was disgusting. Several tables needed cleaning and disgusting. The mushrooms were just sitting on a rack with no cover. The prep table was dirty with lettuce and other food everywhere. The floors had food on the floor in kitchen area. The drink area was disgusting, along with the hot sauce bottles and ketchup squirt bottles. Food was ok. Tater tots overcooked and tastes like old oil. The manager was leaving, and she just passed right by all the mess on the tables and did not tell any employees to clean up. The tots were great and the green beans seemed rubbery. My wife liked her burger. I felt like an idiot because I left like a 25% tip then found out they do absolutely nothing for you but put your food on a counter that you get yourself. Had I know this I would not have left a tip. There was zero interaction with anyone after they take your order. You get your own drink, refills, utensils and food from the counter. I'm not sure what is considered a regular customer but, I eat here at least monthly and have written a 5 Star review previously. Yesterday I stopped in planning to get the burger I usually eat. But, as I scanned the menu board I changed my mind and decided on "The Horn" which I have had before. "The Horn" is considered to be a platter that comes with the entree, 2 sides and a slice of grilled Texas Toast. I chose the mild peppers in the meat, mashed potatoes with gravy and a salad. Lately I have had the grilled toast at other restaurants and they seemed to be a little heavy on the grease. But, the Longhorn toast was exceptionally well done AND I was impressed that they had folded it in half and placed it standing on the plate. This kept the bread from accumulating moisture off the plate to keep it from becoming soggy. My entree was delicious. Actually, one thing that prompted me to do another review is a woman cashier who is always super friendly; not just to me but is the same with all the customers. read more

Haven't been to this location in maybe 2 years, I loved taking my son here for father son lunch. I ordered a burger and onion rings and proceeded to sit for 50 minutes with no food. I then went to cancel my order which they had not even started on. One person preparing to the food asked if I'd like to wait, I declined to which she stated sorry we're a little busy (which they were not, at most 10 people) . She then turned to the side and made comment to her coworker which they both laughed and he turned and looked at me. Very disrespectful. Do better. I won't be back to this location. read more
