We had a group of 10 celebrating a birthday before heading over to Yankee Lanes, and the staff didn't even blink when we walked up to the podium. Two waitstaff were assigned to handle our eclectic & chaotic group, and they did an amazing job. Drinks, appetizers, entrees, and to-go boxes were all handled quickly and correctly. We've been in LongHorns in few other states and this one was just as good as any of those others. That's the one good thing about franchisees, there is a dependable consistency with the food, atmosphere and people. The dishes we selected were very good, the prices reasonable, and the staff friendly and efficient. The smell of expertly grilled steaks wafting through the resturant was wonderful and mouthwatering! I don't understand how a chain restaurant, where I thought would have some sort of quality control, is just so bad. We've eaten here twice in the last 9 months and the food is bad. They over season their food to the point it is borderline inedible. The steak I had there was way too salty, which is hard for a cut of beef, and the second time I had wings, and they were so salty as to be caustic. I literally felt salt burns on lips. We had lunch here yesterday at the behest of a retired friend who lives in assisted living, for whom this is his favorite restaurant in Keene (previously it was Luca's, more our speed). Our friend got the chowder; he left half uneaten, not sure whether that's because he was full or because he didn't like it. Our latest visit turned almost the opposite off our last stop here. We ordered the Flo's Filet and the Rib Eye -- exactly as we did before -- and the cuts turned out to be very un-Longhorns-like. They were heavily muscled, tough and unaccountably bland. They were, to be blunt about it, no good at all. We've never experienced this before and came away quite disappointed. The sides were good, our server was pleasant, and all of the "other" things were fine. But goodness, if a steak house can't get decent cuts of steak, then ... well, not good. Went with a party of 7 at 2:30. We were the only ones waiting when we arrived and it wasn't too busy. About 5 more small groups arrived and they were all told to wait as well. The second it hit 3:00 they brought everyone to their seats. They literally waited till the lunch special ended to seat everyone! If you don't want to serve your lunch menu then don't have it! A large majority of us wanted the chicken sandwich lunch special and of course they don't even have that on the regular menu so we had to get something different. We moved into the area and have been working at getting settled in our home. Thus, we've found ourselves tired at the end of several nights and headed in to have food. It's been so good that we haven't ventured much farther. The wait has been about 15 to 20 mins and we sit in the lobby. You can get on line and add your name to the waitlist or call ahead but I would still suggest you plan on waiting. Bring some cards or a game for the kids to play. The steaks, salmon, steak tips with onion and mushrooms have been cooked perfectly. French Onion soup yummy! Side salad and Caesar salad have been fresh and crisp. The bread that comes before hand is always warm throughout with crisp outside and soft inside. The cheesecake was heavenly and enough to share. They have a very large staff and as often as we have been going we haven't had the same server but they have all been pleasant, helpful and seemed pleased to wait on us. We're not a bother or act as if they have somewhere better to be...they are nice!!! Wow it is amazing how wonderful dinner can be. We usually see Felicity who greets us and puts us on the list. Wife's plate loaded with tasty fries and generous portion of broccoli but her tasty salmon was puny--small and not worth $20. My ribeye was cooked right and enjoyable; big, baked potato called loaded but skimpy topping. We each enjoyed our Caesar salads. $10 for a margarita--stiff. Went to settings and opened their WiFi, app never would open. Waitress said local signals suck. App never did open. Tried to get on wait list but wasn't available. First time to a Longhorn. I've only been to this restaurant a couple times, but I haven't been disappointed yet. I eat my steak rare, which not many places like to accommodate. I ordered a ribeye and it came out about as rare as I've seen a steak cooked (or not cooked) at any restaurant that I've visited. A true test that I like to do on restaurants is whether they can mix a proper Old Fashioned (the earliest cocktail). It's simple, but very few establishments make it correct. I ordered it from Long Horn because it was listed on their drink menu. Long story short, it was made correctly. When I walked into Keene NH's yummy tasty Longhorn, I was greeted by Felicity and wow, did she change my mind about Keene. She lit up my world. Felicity (I call her Feeber) was so awesome and amazing. She gave me the biggest and best smile before walking me and my boyfriend to our table. Pretty good food and exceptional service. The manager understood our dilemma of getting sat with 14 people but he was confident and reassuring we could get seated within 1/2 hr and he was good to his word and very perceptive as to when wait staff would be freed up to serve us. No one had any complaints if the food and in fact quite a few said it was very delicious (and healthy portions - 7 take-home boxes). Can't express enough how our server Stephanie made the whole experience extremely enjoyable. She was very personable, well organized, knowledgeable and excellent at keeping straight everyone's meals with their sides and drinks. Definitely a recommend (and I am not normally so welcoming of chain restaurants). The only minor gripe was that they were out of baked potato by 6 :( read more

I eat at a lot of longhorns throughout the United States and this has been in the top 3. We were in town for 6 days and ended up eating here 3 of the nights. The young lady that waited on us was a senior in college there and likely one of the best waitresses I have ever had. Being from down south we are used to people being nice for the most part and when we travel in the north is something we tend to notice. This young lady was a rare exception and even made sure our ice tea was sweet. On the third night we met the manager who had recently been promoted. She had an excellent since of humor and was really on top of things. While talking to her, the original waitress came by and recognized us from several days earlier. How could not mention the food? Well, the steak was cooked to perfection the first night. The second night a male waiter I think reversed how they were to be cooked with the person traveling with me but they corrected the issue. There is always a wait at the restaurant so tonight we called to make an attempt at a reservation. We were told they don't take reservations. Got there and were told it would be 15-20 min for our party of 2. While we waited 45 minutes for a table, we saw other parties walk in and get seated immediately. When I complained, I was told that they were tables of 5 and therefore got certain tables. I would have happily sat at a larger table rather than wait. We also saw small parties get seated ahead of us and were told they called ahead and were put on a wait list. But they don't take reservations. Love the food here but pretty infuriating to see others walk in and get seated when you have been waiting for 45 minutes. This policy needs to change. Either you take reservations or it's first come, first serve. read more

Husband and I wanted to a quick bite to eat before an evening of booze filled fun. The restaurant was less than half filled and every bar seat was open. The dining room looked messy and not inviting. So per usual, we opted for the bar. The bartender was wicked friendly and didn't miss a beat. It's a full bar, with a few beers on draft. You can order from the full menu at the bar also. Husband ordered the 7-Pepper Sirloin salad and I ordered a baked potato with a side caesar salad. I just love baked potatoes from steakhouses - this one was no different - crispy salty skin and perfectly cooked inside. Husband enjoyed his salad and felt his steak was cooked perfectly. It was a bit too peppery for me (yes, I know its a 7-pepper salad!) and it had too much bleu cheese for my liking! I would say this was a good option for quick bite, but I certainly would rush back when we are in town next! Oh, if you sign up for their club you can get a free appetizer. Edit 9/2017: we tried it again this month and things were slightly improved. Given that we have had more good experiences than bad, I am raising my review from 3 stars to 4, but keeping the review below as a reminder of how a great place can backslide. Longhorn used to be our favorite restaurant. We would drive down from Springfield VT to spend anniversaries and special occasions here. We always liked the food, the service and the bar. I don't know what happened. Perhaps it was just too busy, being the first nice day this year and a bunch of graduations going on. But it has always been busy, so I don't buy that. On our most recent visit, I didn't mind waiting 25 minutes. It has always been worth it in the past. But neither the service nor the food were up to snuff. The waitress was nice and pleasant, but there were mistakes. My wife was not asked about a side dish and didn't even realize this until the entrée arrived without one. When we addressed it, the waitress asked, "Do you still want one?", which was sort of a silly question. When my meal came out, I realized I had not been brought the salad I had ordered. Again she asked "Do you still want one?". When she brought it to me, it was the Caesar Salad and not the mixed greens I had ordered. She went out of her way to tell us there would be no charge for the items, even though they were items that were already part of the meal price and should have been brought with or before the entrées (we both found this statement odd, both times she said it). While this was all a bit frustrating, it was nothing compared to the raw salmon. While the outside and ends were fine, the center was bright pink, glassy looking and cold to the touch. I told the waitress to mention it to the cook as we were leaving. She said she would have sent it back, but I never send food back for fear of a disgruntled cook spitting in my food, or worse. Instead, I took it home and cooked it myself for lunch the following day. She made sure to tell us that it was perfectly safe and not to believe the horror stories about uncooked salmon. While this may be true of some salmon, it is not true about all salmon. If I end up with parasites, I will pay her a visit. The drinks we ordered were "bottomless", but no one ever checked to see if we wanted refills. As we left, there were two hostesses chatting with each other. Neither asked about our experience and the basket for after dinner mints was empty. All previous visits were four or five star quality, but neither the food nor the service this time warrant more than three. I may not ever return, as my dream restaurant has now left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Every time I think of Longhorn, I instinctively let out a "meh". We stopped in before Christmas since we were picking up last minute ingredients at Price Chopper, and while it wasn't bad it wasn't exciting either. We started out with the fried onion thingies, which is usually a favorite of mine at Random Steakhouse Chain Restaurant but not this time, very bland, and the sauce was too sweet, basically ketchup and mayo mixed together. Huge portion though, if that's your thing. The steak tips were fine, at first I thought over-marinated but as I ate them I got more into the flavor. The mister got some pork osso-bucco-like thing that he thought was decent. My iced tea was okay (sense a theme yet?) but the mister got some fancy margarita on the rocks, no salt, and was really impressed. Service was actually quite good, and the table behind us was rude to the same server, but she was very professional. Good job, server whose name I'll never remember! I think if I was in the mood for drinks and steak and not too fancyish, I'd have no problem going to Longhorn, but otherwise, I'm meh. read more
