First time trying Elm City and would definitely come back. A brewery was just what we needed after some frustrating traffic during our travels. They are located in a great spot, with plenty of parking available. We were lucky weather wise to be able to enjoy the patio, which I highly recommend if you visit during a time that allows it. All of the staff were very friendly and service was quite quick. They do offer wine, cocktails, mocktails and plenty of other non-alcoholic drink options so don't let brewing company scare you away. My wife got their Peach Kolsch and I got their Patio Season (lemon fruited wheat beer) and we enjoyed them. Both paired well with the nice weather day! Food wise my wife got Taco Salad that she very much enjoyed. I got their Peach BBQ Chicken Sandwich that had pulled bbq chicken. It was very tasty and you could get the sweetness from the peaches in the sauce. I do wish it would have been a little more peach forward though. Fries were hot and well seasoned but could have had a little more crisp to them. Overall solid spot, would check it out for those looking for a brewery that serves food and even for those just looking for a meal too! We had a really great time at Elm City last weekend. They were able to seat us downstairs so my mom wouldn't have to struggle with the stairs. Service was prompt. Waitstaff and hostess were kind. The pretzel they brought us as a starter was fantastic. Everyone was thrilled with the mustard and pub cheese. There were mixed reviews for our entrees, but the C monster iPa and peachy Keene kolsch were well enjoyed. read more

You have one day in Keene to eat somewhere. You want history, local flavor in the food & drinks? That's what we wanted. Checked the menu on yelp, and loved the variety. Upon arrival (be warned, gps will take you weird way through back lots, bit you will get there) was impressed by the beautiful historical structure it is housed in. Theres a lovely outdoor eating area, and plenty of indoor dining in various types of rooms, and a bar area. We opted for indoor dining, was seated in the main dining area. Its a beautiful space with restored wood work and craft beer decor. They brew their own beer. I had the Bird NEIPA, probably the smoothest IPA i have ever tasted. Loved it. Apps: OUTSTANDING! the spinach artichoke dip I guarantee is better than any you have ever had, anywhere. The bagel chips with everything seasoning compliments the dip perfectly. We also had the sweet potato corn jalapeño soup. Creamy, flavorful with the perfect spicy finish. Dinner: Took forever to get to us. Almost an hour from when we ordered. At 45 minutes our server said he dropped one of our meals, so he asked kitchen to make 2 new ones..so one wasn't just sitting under heat lamp. Very much appreciated, but even still..it should not have taken that long. My meal was ok. Peach BBQ pulled chicken sandwich, there wasn't much chicken. The bun was barely toasted, and not a broiche as advertised. Just a regular burger bun. So i couldnt hold the sandwich up without it drooping. I ate with fork, it was fine. Just a bit disappointed. The NY Strip however, was melt in your mouth good, the demi glaze sauce was amazing too. Would definitely come back here if ever in area again. It was that good, even with the bad timing. We stumbled upon this place on the drive home from hiking Mount Monadock. We were looking for a non-chain establishment. This was our first time here, but definitely not our last. We ordered several different appetizers and a few different burgers and melts. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of the burgers and melts. However, all of the food was delicious. This place needs to stop removing their best dishes from their menu. There's a reason why they're popular. They're good! The Brewmaster dinner: sausage, sauerkraut, potato pancakes and applesauce. The fried mushrooms. I could go on and on. I understand wanting to try new items. But why remove the best items on the menu to make room? Run them as frequent specials and see how well they do. The service has been outstanding here for several years now, greatly improved actually. Please consider returning some of these favorites to your menu. A beautiful venue with middling food and beer. Our party of four were looking forward to some favorites from the menu, but sadly, they were no longer available or had been tapped. So, we all ended up choosing food which was not our first choice. However, the salmon was very good and I would easily order it again. For a change of pace since the beers weren't all that great, I also recommend the Vesper Rose cocktail. read more

We were meeting some friends when visiting Keene and they suggested Elm City Brewing as a solid spot for dinner- they come here often. They were able to make a reservation for us and for a Thursday evening they were pretty busy! But easily sat us. We each got a beer- and they were all pretty good- I believe all made there (and they have a list hanging up with some specials). If I remember correctly, I got a sour. As far as food, I clearly chose wrong lol the burgers our friends got looked BOMB. I got the blackened chicken pasta which was good- spicy- but good. The waitress had suggested it and I was looking for something different. I just could not finish it all there was SO much! My husband got fish and chips and loved it. Overall if we make it back to Keene, I would stop here again! read more

Wonderful spot. We occasionally vacation to Keene and this is one of the first places we stop to eat. They have amazing fried mushrooms, some nice fries, and outstanding barbecue sauce. The restaurant is styled very well, and the entire atmosphere is so calm and well-designed. Not to mention the interesting architecture of the building. Elm City has been in business for a long time -- 30 years -- and they have the local medals to back it up! If you were opening a brewery 30 years ago, you were pre-trending. I found the staff to be friendly, fast and amenable. Get the fruited Kolsch. When I visited that was Peachy Keene Kölsch. It's not sweet, as you would expect. It's less light than the Keen Kölsch with a nice taste of peach that comes through. Very well brewed. If you're not a peach fan, get the Keene Kölsch, their flagship German pilsner. Light and crisp, for sure. Loved it. The Tater-Tot Cheddar Waffle with beer cheese, bacon and scallion is an actual waffle made from tater-tots! It's something they are known for and no one else around makes them. I sure have never heard of one. I didn't taste it because I was leaving, but the kind patron next to me wanted me to have a photo of it for next time. She also wanted me to have a taste, because I kept trying to understand how a waffle would be good like that, but I could not bring myself to be so presumptuous. But I noticed that a lot of the patrons were really friendly like this, and that makes all of the difference! Back to the waffle-- to be clear, it is not a sweet waffle, it's a savoury waffle. And, again, it's not a waffle. It is all tater tots. The patron told me that it's light and fluffy and an employee affirmed this with the statement, "because tater tots are light and airy." So it's credible commentary, although not from me. :) Ok, don't miss the margarita flight if you are in that kind of drinking mood! Some are fruity, half are strong. The fruit flavors vary. The carrot cake was delicious because the icing had the rich tang of cream cheese really coming through. And the seasonings in the cake were right. The chocolate peanut butter pie was the best. Perfect balance of rich, dark chocolate - but not bitter - and peanut butter. Instead of what is more common: too much peanut butter overpowering the chocolate. So they got this right, as well. I didn't taste dinner here, so no reviews of that. As for the ambience, there are 4 main dining areas: outdoor seating with these cool rocking chair picnic table sets, indoors in the main dining area with booths, the indoor patio - most picturesque - and communal and the bar area- recommended if you can get a seat at the actual bar vs. the hightop tablestables off to the right. Things improved at ECB. Jenny was a fantastic waitress. The huge fish and chips were excellent and worth the $20. The veg burger also made my wife happy but she chose to have it with honey mustard instead of the mint sauce. Fries worth it. The Soulless Ginger was a hit with both of us. GPS had a heck of a time getting us here. Road work detours messed us up, but eventually we made it, and boy am I glad we did. Plenty of parking in a shared lot, this establishment is located amongst businesses and apartments in the back of a large brick complex. The entrance is quite large with a sandwich board of daily specials and a hostess stand. We were greeted right away and taken to a table in a sunny three season type enclosure. They also have lots of outdoor seating and another dining area, so lots of places to sit. Our waitress was delightful. We placed a drink order, asked a few questions and looked over the menu. Besides their own beer list, with current available brews listed on chalk boards around the restaurant, they have wine and a full bar. Think upscale pub fare for food. Fried mushrooms, wings, nachos, corn chowder, taco salad, Reuben, burgers, plus pork chops, NY strip, beef tenderloin. So choices. I went with a daily special of shaved prime rib sandwich. Very tasty, lean shaved steak with au jus and fresh made fries. My SO went with the Pastrami which comes with chips. We both enjoyed our choices. Quality meat, bread and sides. The food is always fresh, service is friendly and the atmosphere is great! Love the location and ambiance of an old mill building. My personal Preference, I am not the biggest fan of the menu changes made, they no longer carry some basic ingredients/condiments which is not ideal. That said, just check the menu before going and if something sounds good then go! Well worth it. read more

We sat outside for lunch today and were pleasantly surprised with how great everything was. The service was top tier. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and had a super welcoming personality. I had a mojito to drink and my husband tried one of the IPAs on tap. Both were great. We shared nachos for an appetizer and I opted for the grilled chicken sandwich. My husband had a burger with blue cheese crumbles and caramelized onions. Both sandwiches were great and the French fries were perfect if you prefer a fat fry, which we do! We're happy to have stumbled upon elm city and will certainly be back! read more

Weigh 260 lbs. have been served more than 3 beers countless times at this brewery. So the bartender decides who she gonna serve and who Never again. read more

Sat at the bar to grab a bite two nights in a row and service was prompt and the food quality and portions were well above average. Officially the best Rueben I've ever had which is a go to item for me. Fries weee excellent with skin on. The staff was very pleasant and appeared they had lots of repeat business from locals which is always a good sign. Second night I had one of the hamburgers which was excellent although it was more med-rare than medium as ordered, it still tasted great. Good staff and good food. The beers were average - tasty but nothing that knocked our socks off with the exception of the Peachey Keene. That was delicious. We typically order flights for each of us to sample all options then if we have something we really like, we order a pint to share. This time despite the tastiness of the Peachey Keene, we didn't order an additional pint. So there's that. Burgers hit the spot after running a marathon. The only downside was that the restaurant was extremely busy so it took an hour for us to get a table. Our server, Trevor, did a great job managing the crowd and serving us quickly. read more

Great place for lunch, busy (service is a little slow but there's a good vibe while you wait). They have sort of awful thick sliced onion rings (thin strings would be better) and I wish they used mainstream Coke or Pepsi instead of their off brand RC cola. We came in from out of town and had a family gathering @ Elm Street on a Friday evening and had more people than anticipated, join in. The staff were most accommodating! I bragged and bragged to my girlfriends how I couldn't wait to take them to Elm City Brewing to eat. So we went, and had not only bad service but also not good food. Our waitress, Jenny, met us without a smile and continued that theme throughout. It seemed we had to pry any information out of her. For example...do you have a gluten free menu? No. Does this drink come over ice? No. She never offered info or offered anything to help us along we had to ask for salsa for the nachos!!! when the order finally came one of our meals was the wrong item entirely and after 25 minutes the meal finally arrived(which was only nachos) and the party of 5 others had already long since finished their meal. It came way over cooked not edible. very disappointed, won't go again which saddens me because it was one of my favorite places to eat and drink read more

Elm city in my opinion was hands down the best brewery in the area. All the food was good and all the beer ice cold and delicious. Until they changed... I stopped in last night for some fish and chips and a brew. Apparently they changed the type of fish they use from cod to haddock, the breading on the fish was mushy and slimy and a quarter of my fries were burnt. Not only that but the beer that was brought to me was barely cold and the waitress had some sort of problem with my right off the bat. The fish and chips used to be so big you could share it, now it's definitely half its original size. And for a brewery to sever warm beer is a bit dissatisfying. I'm not sure if I'll be back, it was definitely upsetting to see my favorite local place go downhill so quickly. read more

My server Emily H was efficient, helpful, and charming. She spoke knowledgeably about the beer selection and items on the menu. The timing of the drinks and food were paced well and not rushed. I chose the special, which was a sea salt and peppercorn encrusted ribeye. The seasoning on the ribeye was wonderful and it was cooked perfectly. I prefer a ribeye cut that is thicker than I was served, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. All were very nicely presented. I have visited Elm City several times and their service and quality of food is excellent. I always enjoy the great beer selection.
