I'm reading the previous reviews from others and indeed there are a few things from each 1 star review that the facility itself could improve on but to be honest it's never a 1 star. My family and I very much love our humane society! My daughters and I visit 3-4 times a month and check out the cutie pies that are looking for forever families! I even had my pup vaccinated there. However they did inform me if I choose to not neuter my dog that they wouldn't see my dog in the future. I was a little upset about that but can also respect their side and of not wanting MORE animals that have the possibility of being in the same situation ALL the current animals are in and hoping for a home. The hours Monday through Friday are 12-6 and Saturday & Sunday 11-6. When you first walk in the front desk is directly in front of you. The pups are on your left hand side and the kitties are on the right! Either way you decide there will be special eyes balls watching you! I always start to my left. I grew up in Longmont and the old building which is the current building, grew a lot. I like the old way were it was just a fence between the human and animal but no there is a gap and glass. I can't say how the dogs feel but I almost think they would be more calm if they could smell the people looking to love them. So if your looking for a great Christmas or birthday present, visit the Humane Society and you might fall in love with your new best friend!

Come out to this great event! Sept 14 2013 5K fun run/walk and pet friendly festival. There will be BBQ, Beer garden live muisc

Upon arrival the groomer put their leash around his neck and started choking my perfectly still dog I thought he was just coughing at first until I grabbed the leash around his neck and had to yank him free while still in her hand. Again my dog is very well trained and while he was being choked he was not moving at all that should have been my first red flag to take him and leave . The groomer was Kaylina H

At the expected time they did not call me so I called to check in on him. I was told he was "being difficult" so they needed to give him a break. This has never happened before, but I totally supported that idea. When he was finally ready, I went to pick him up and decided ahead of time that I would give a $20 tip since they had to no doubt spent extra time with him and it sounded like a very kind thing to do to give him a little break. I was greeted at the door with, "he peed all over the door. " I wasn't quite sure what to do at that point. I wasn't sure if I was to clean up after Reggie or give them extra money or?? Clearly letting him out during the five hours that he was there was not on their radar . Also, I quite expected somebody to say, " oh this is what happened", or "this is why he needed a break", but nobody said anything. I laid the $20 on the counter and said, "well this is for the groomer" who I'm pretty sure was Lindsay but not one single person acknowledged me. On top of all this they also nicked him and nobody said anything about that. It's pretty pricey to get your dog groomed here and I think the fact that there is not 1 ounce of customer service was really sad. Unfortunately I won't be going back there, and I also have five friends who have five friends. I hope this place can get their act together because clearly no one had any life skills.

Local eggs, bread, soaps and value add products are always available at the register along with a fun selection of Longmont stickers. You can get almost everything here. I haven't loved the laundry soda (it doesn't work nearly as well as Charlie's) but they have tons of options of cleaning products and body care as well as the food selection. You can replace almost everything you buy at the grocery store with something Simply Bulk sells in bulk. You can also pick up free used buckets and 30-55 gallon drums for home and yard use - think of the rain barrels! Employees have always been super helpful and friendly and the staff has been consistent over time. Bring in empty salsa, condiment, pasta sauce jars (with their lids) to donate here for others to use who may have forgotten or don't have something the right size for what they're buying.

I looked for weeks on all of the shelters websites and almost every dog I was interested in was here at Boulder Valley. All the staff members are helpful and sweet; they answered all my questions and even answered the phone a few minutes after closing to help me. Then I found Zeus. Looking through their website, I stumbled upon him and knew I had to meet him. So I played hooky from work, loaded up my husband, roommate, and her dog and headed out. They were more than happy to have my husband and I meet Zeus one on one and then move him to the big pin out front to meet my roommates dog. From there, my husband and I decided to sit on it over night. The next day, I called and placed a hold on Zeus and then drove that following afternoon to go and get him. The paperwork took about 15 minutes to complete and the staff were so excited to bring him out to me to go home. I went from heartbroken and feeling like we'd never find a dog to walking out of Boulder Valley overjoyed. Thank you guys again for everything. Your kindness and willing to do whatever is needed to find these pets their forever homes is what makes you guys stand out!
