The fitness area for weights and cardio equipment is user friendly and in good condition. Prefer to go there vs my gym as it tends to be less crowded. The facility itself is of course geared for 55+, but anyone 18+ can come in and use the facility. Staff is friendly and there are usually multiple people available to assist you. This can be a busy facility however at times so there may be a chance you do have to wait a little bit if you have a question regarding something. Coffee is free if you bring your own cup, if you need a cup there is just the small fee of $1 and you can buy a cup from the desk. So many wonderful events and opportunities that happen here. Definitely worth coming and checking it out

If you need to call regarding a question expect to be put on hold immediately and not addressed for 5-10 minutes. Upon entering the facility you'll be greeted by inpatient, unkind and distant staff. The staff are not trained in the majority of ongoings within city recreation, most staff rely upon their managers who they themselves are unhelpful. Speaking to a manager is a whole other issue as they're never available. The facility attendants are mostly helpful and attending to almost any issue/need you many have. The pool table area is okay however most cues, balls, etc are strewed about the area or just lost. In regards to the pool, look online before coming in because classes are scheduled and lanes may or may not be available. Speaking on the rental spaces available at the Senior Center there's nothing special or noteworthy to speak on. If you need to rent a space, don't expect a return call for 1-2 weeks. Those who come in the early morning for coffee, there is now a $1 charge for cups, so bring your own. With overall subpar staff and a underwhelming facility, I would recommend the Chilson Senior Center in Loveland.

There was always different events going on, and one day when we…read morevisited, she said there was a concert at the Foote Lagoon that we would be going to that night (the open area venue next to the Chilson Center). So, my aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, and I loaded up into the car. The concert was going to be a band called "The Elders". I thought boy do they sound interesting... But, sure enough it ended up being a rowdy Irish band from Kansas City. It had rained earlier in the evening and everyone was dancing in the lagoon and having a good 'ol time. My grandpa and I shared peanut butter ice cream from the Cold Stone stand nearby. Fast forward many years later and my family and I still have toured around with the Elders.

The reason is because the actual venue was good but the coordinator was not and I want to give an honest review on both. The Chilson Senior Center was our venue for our recent wedding. We were married at the Foote Lagoon and had the reception at the senior center. The room is very big and you can opt for just a portion if your event is smaller. We had 150 guests at our wedding and rented 2/3rds of the room which was enough for 22 guest tables, food tables, a bar and a dance floor. We also used the patio for happy hour (tho alcohol isn't allowed out there just FYI). The people who setup the room with the tables had them ready on time and even helped us some with hanging decor. They also did a good job with having a person keeping an eye on the wedding but not drawing attention. They allowed us to use all our own caterers, bartender, etc. which, while more time consuming, saved us $. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because of the kitchen. The senior center uses most of the space in both the refrigerator and freezer so you don't have a lot of space there. Also you have to provide all your own pots and pans. They let you know this up front though so that's good. Besides that though I was a huge fan and glad we had it here. The only reason I would not suggest booking your event here is because of the event coordinator Whitney. Look for my post in the Chilson Recreation Center page (doing it there since she's their employee) for why. If she isn't there anymore or they can let you work with someone else, I would 100% recommend this venue.

Apparently there is no…read more"delete" on YELP when you are impulsively venting or are on medications that make you agitated. I am fairly healthy for my age, but I am still on disability. Like anything else, Innovage and the PACE program have their good points and bad points. I just know that my problems are degenerative and lifelong. I like the program. The people are nice and do try and help you. So, thank you for the care so far . . . let's hope I can continue with it.

In Boulder, Colorado there are two Senior Centers, an East and a West. The West Boulder Senior…read moreCenter is located a couple blocks from the downtown library on Arapahoe and within a convenient walking distance from many downtown businesses. Because it is near the downtown area street parking is very limited. Parking in their small parking lot requires a parking permit which you ask for at the desk and which they are more than happy to give you. The front foyer of the Senior Center is a very cozy, comfortable area to be in. There are about four library tables one can sit at to access the internet wirelessly and electrical outlets to plug-in your laptop are nearby. If you don't have a laptop you can just hop on one of the internet stations located against the wall. There are about five of them. The internet connection was good and the speed was very reasonable. One should, however, be wary of accessing sensitive information like bank accounts since it is a very open network, shared with all those who access the nearby public library. The West Boulder Senior Center offers daily lunches at 11:30 am while the East side center does not. The lunch I had was quite tasty with ample portions and the dining room, like the lobby area was very cozy, clean, and comfortable. Several regulars attend the Cafe and appear to know one another. There were a few younger people since anyone is allowed to purchase the $5 meal. The meal is sponsored by Meals on Wheels, not the Senior Center. It is a wonderful program that focuses on providing nutritious meals to the senior community. To summarize, based on just two visits, I thought this center was cozy, clean and comfortable, and the meal that was served was good. While the atmosphere and services to seniors were worthy of four stars, I found their friendliness sort of lukewarm. Part of this may have been due to the fact that I was a stranger and/or a minority (Chinese American) and the population in Boulder is about 95% caucasian. As a result I received the joking comment in the cafe when I introduced myself, "well, there goes the neighborhood." She was smiling but the implications I believe were that HER neighborhood was no longer as comforting as it was before my appearance at her cash register. Taking this into account, and based on a limited number of visits, I gave this a rating of three stars. Thanks for reading my evaluation!

Nice location near Boulder Creek (although this building flooded severely back in September during the big Boulder flood, it is all repaired now). Friendly, clean, pleasant atmosphere.
