Five Star installed a fence in my yard in September of 2018. Although they were quick and the fence seemed to be in good shape, issues started appearing. First, several of the fence boards are curling outward. Secondly, the gate was not sturdy enough and easily gapped outward. With a dog in the yard, we needed the fence to be secure. After five messages (text and Facebook) and five times they said they would be out to fix the problems, and five times nobody showed or called. In my business, a person's word is their promise. Unfortunately, this company simply does not live up to their promise. I ended up having to fix the gate myself. Today (04-01-2019), I found several fence boards that were not even nailed. You could push them out from the inside (see pictures). Again, not good for keeping a dog in. Also, the end post up against my house was not concreted in properly and you can rock the fence back and forth with very little effort. I videoed the movement but I could not get it uploaded. I have recommended them twice to neighbors and have since retracted my endorsement. Although the potential is great for future business with my house being in a new construction neighborhood, I no longer recommend them. This company disappointed me greatly. read more

After posting my review, I was contacted by Mr. Longoria via email to let me know that he would be sending staff out later that day to inspect the problem and see what they could do to repair the problems I was experiencing. He also apologized for the delay in getting back to us about our concerns with their work. His staff came out that day and they fixed both gates (one that I could not get open and the other that was very difficult to open). They also add a lower level latch that should help keep the lower part of the gate in place. Although it is not what I envisioned for my backyard gate it is better than 5 Star left it the first time and I hopefully noting will be able to get through the gaps that are still between the gates and the ground. read more

While Longoria Fencing is a good value, the quality suffers. They indeed put up the fence very quickly, but I've had my fence for a few years now and it is falling apart. I have made sure to maintain and stain the fence as required. The boards have shrunk significantly more than regular treated wood and boards are warping and pulling apart from each other. Would not go with this company in the future and definitely wouldn't recommend them. Gave them 2 stars for quick response and pricing. I will definitely be willing to pay more in the future for better quality. read more

Worst customer service, I've been calling this company for the last 2 1/2 -3 months to get a section of my fence fixed thats leaning in my yard & being held up by a rake to stop the post from snapping in half. Longoria does not pick up the phone or responds to text messages anymore. All I've gotten is nothing but excuses, and promises to make arrangements to get my expensive fence fixed. Their pricing was a little higher than other companies in the area, but because he came highly recommended I decided to use his services. That was a huge mistake. Their work came with a 10 year "warranty", that they have not honored. I've had this fence for about 2 1/2 years and is already falling a part. I now know why this business is named Five Star Fencing because that is exactly what I got. I can't recommend them enough. They were professional, speedy and very hard working. The two guys barely spoke English which was problematic at times, but Ramiro would interpret and let me know what they were asking. They installed a 4 tier horse fence which looks absolutely great. There were a few issues like splitting boards on one of the gates which they just resolved today. They also destroyed a wire that powers my driveway lights while digging a post hole near my house, but they did fix it today as well. Ideally I wish they would have reburied the wire after fixing it since it was previously buried, but I can deal with that. I read these other reviews and many did say that response was sometimes slow. I too experienced that, but was persistent in contacting Ramiro to get these issues resolved. Overall, I am very pleased with the fence and the service received from Longoria's Five Star Fencing and would absolutely recommend them to others. UPDATE: Again, with fence issues, owner was lackluster in responding. After receiving a price for a fence repair after a tree fell on it, I questioned the pricing and was basically told to go find a GC by Ramiro. I had two other fence companies come out and both questioned the use of 4" posts for my fence, so maybe their quality is not as great as it should be. While Ramiro is nice, overall, his inability to maintain contact in a timely fashion is worrisome. His inability to handle conflict is also problemsome. While I can't fully stay away, proceed with caution. Get other quotes. Ask questions. Be an informed buyer. It will serve you well. read more

I used Longoria's Fencing to fence in my backyard about 6 months ago, and so far the fence looks great and has held up well. Quality of the fence seems high. However, during the installation, they apparently damaged my sprinkler system, busting two pipes among other things. In the end, it cost me nearly $1,000 to fix what they had damaged. Being winter and not using the sprinklers, I did not realize they had damaged them until well after the job was completed. The guy that put the fence up was good at what he did, but spoke broken English which made communication an issue. Took a little longer than anticipated. Fence is good, but installation caused some problems. I suppose I would recommend them, but just be careful. read more

So I did get a Fence from Longoria Fencing. Ramiro came and did the quote and it wasn't the lowest and wasn't the highest. That was good. That was the best part of the experience. I take that back, the guys worked hard, in the rain, no bathroom breaks. They were really hard workers. Let's go to the bad: 1. The guys cut the sprinkler line that was on the property line. Did the guys tell me and fix it themselves? NO. Ramiro called me because no one on site spoke english. He had me, the customer, go to home depot to figure out which kind of pipe/fitting to get it fixed. Why does the customer need to go and get pipes for workers to fix something they broke? Did I get a break for it, no. 2. The guys didn't finish cutting the boards down to size. Thankfully I saw the boards including the spikes of wood that would have impaled someone. The cut them down and fixed. 3. There are huge gaps at the gate and the fence. I contacted Ramiro to get them to come out and fix them. Did he contact me, NO. We have been having issues with neighbors dogs getting out and my fear are the dogs getting into my yard and attacking my children. I guess he doesn't care. read more

They took no responsibility, had no plumber to refer and said it wasn't their fault and that these things happen. They left my house with no water on at all and a hole in my yard. Horrible service. I used this company to put up a fence around my property a couple of years ago. The fence came out great, and I had a good experience. This time I called regarding an addition I wanted to add. Not a huge project, but something I've wanted to do for a long time. They told me to text what I needed and they'd set up an appointment to come look, although they were booked up and it wouldn't be for a couple months that they could do the job. No problem. They sent me a text. I texted back with photos and what I needed-no response at all. I called. No call back. I guess my job was too small for them and they don't care about my business. We had a good price from another company. They said they can match. They matched it. That was the good part. Let's go to the bad: 1. Once you have signed the contract, then they get the opportunity to show their true colors. 2. I am talking about the guy who does pricing. The best with this fence company is that for any discrepancy, they will blame either the sales staff or other guy. They will say, they have joined recently, so they don't how to do things in right way. But if you try to talk and discuss the right way, that is when they will become aggressive and start playing on you. Simply because your contract is signed. Please don't use Longoria's Fence Company. I recently had a fence installed by this Company. The sales rep Tiffany was the best part of the Company. The owner's brother came out on the first day to collect half of the quote and get the workers set up. I had a fence that was falling down and sinking in spots. I walked out and the guys were putting up the fence post the same as the previous fence..with sags! I told them that was not correct and had a lengthy conversation with Ramiro Longoria. He told me it was normal and they could make it work by having a 4 or 5 inch gap under the bottom so, that the fence could look level. He was extremely difficult to deal with and made me feel as if I was wrong. I told him over and over I did not pay for a crooked fence and I wanted it corrected. The workers understood my frustration but, they could only do what the boss told them. After my husband contacted Ramiro the back part of the fence was corrected. The last day of the job I had to leave but, the workers explained they would be finished and needed to pick up the check. I should have not paid the balance but, I thought things were going to workout for the best. When I returned the gate was a hot mess! There were two split boards and the gate was not sturdy! I contacted Ramiro and he gave me a song and dance about all the gates they install have a split center board and the boards protruding out were normal! The bother came back on a rainy day and stated the gates appearance was normal and there was nothing the Company could do! What a joke...I'm the customer and the job was not satisfactory. I even measured the boards on the gate, they were all the same size so, Ramiro's statement was not correct that they must split a board on a gate. The boards were split and should have been replaced. Also, the owner's brother stated the same as Ramiro it's normal to have a split boards on a gate. A company working in my neighborhood came over to give me an opinion of the work. He was in agreement with me that the work was shoddy work and in his opinion this fence company did not show pride in their workmanship. The boards were splits and should have been replaced. If you want a fence that looks nice and a gate that doesn't have splits in it don't use Longoria's Fence Company! We have tried to call the company several times for replacement. Tiffany the sales rep states she is just that our Sales Rep and the owner refuses to contact us to make the corrections for the shoddy work! If you would like decent work but don't care about customer service, this company will work for you. Ramiro from Five Star Fencing came to our house to provide an estimate on 10/10 for a small gate section (~15ft) in our backyard. It went well and he was friendly and responsive. We decided to move forward with Five Star Fencing. On Sunday 10/15, we mailed him the first 50% of the quote to move forward with them. The check was receive on the 19th and they didn't start work on the fence until the following Friday 10/27. No supervisors ever showed up for the work. When the two workers were done, I told them that I would mail the check to Ramiro when we have checked the work. Ramiro said that was fine on the phone on Friday. Upon examination of the work, we noticed that the workmanship was poor and there were a lot of scratches and one of the caps was cracked. We let them know on Sunday and it was all still okay when they agreed they will come out to fix it. Since Monday, they have repeatedly asked us to be at home between 9:30am and 3pm because that's the only time that works for them. We told them that the fence is outside and they can work on it (my husband and I both have full time jobs). We will look at it when we come home and mail the check. Oh no. Repeated text messages (and rude messages!) demanding us to be home. When I said that then they can come on the weekends, this is the message I received back - "Good Morning. just wanted to confirm a couple things. We need to go out there and touch up your fence as soon as possible. This cannot wait till the weekend. Please make yourself available sometime today so my supervisor can come over and touch up what needs to be done. Really don't like to put things off I want this to be handled yesterday. Please understand that we just like to get our stuff done." If this is the case, why did they wait over a week from receiving the check to completing the job?! It's only urgent when they want the remaining balance! When my husband talked to Ramiro on the phone, Ramiro again rudely demanded us to be home when it's convenient for them. When my husband gave them some other options (like 3:30 for two days, meaning my husband has to adjust his schedule in order to accommodate this), Ramiro said "that's bad for business." Granted, after my husband got reprimanded by Ramiro, someone from his team did come and fix the issues and send pictures to us. The repair was good and we are happy to pay the remaining balance. Still, the customer service is deplorable and they are extremely difficult to work with when it's "inconvenient" for them. It's unfortunate as we were evaluating getting our entire backyard (at least 250ft) fenced with the same style if this smaller project had worked. Now I don't know if you can pay me enough money to work with them again. ZERO STAR FENCING will be a better name for the company if they don't change their attitude towards their customers. read more
