In my youth (never mind the wisecracks), I would be in the gym 5-days a week so visiting this muscle store was sort of fun like going down memory lane! But that was then and this is now (as the French say) ... today I needed a protein powder that fit my current diet.... mainly no soy, no sugar, and no carbs or other man-made chemicals. Most all powders contain soy but soy is a toxin for some (like me). I was able to find a great powder without soy, milk, sugar or carbs! I liked how the only sweetener used was 1g of Stevia root which has a zero-glycemic index. The price was a bit steep ($42 for 2 lbs) but I might be back when my current supply (different brand) runs out. Enjoyed talking to the knowledgeable young man behind the counter (who looked like he could bench press my car for a warm up without sweating!). Very happy to know this resource is close by in the neighborhood. And the former weightlifter in me? I've gotten all my loved ones hooked on the gardenia gel hand sani, and I can't go a day without their spf. But aside from their fabulous products, the thing that touches my heart most about this business is the personal touch they put on each order. When I used to frequent the brick and mortar store, I was always shocked and touched when they'd send me away with a little sweet goodie from their holiday promos like a bag of free soap ends or a chapstick or a Kailua dish towel. I moved away from the island a little over a year ago so when I was no longer able to visit the store in person, I began ordering online and having my favorites shipped to the mainland. Overcharged and extremely rude! The "lead" lady named Lorna,…read morewas first rude when I was interested in purchasing two birthday balloons for my father's 79th birthday. Beside being rude, when I was being rung up by the nice cashier, Lorna came over and thought the cashier was incorrectly ringing up the balloons. Lorna went on to be rude and insulting to the cashier saying "you cannot make up your own prices" which she wasn't, she was actually scanning the price sheet provided to the at the register. She rang two different prices for two different ballon sizes which is correct. The mean lady Lorna insisted it was incorrect and tried to charge me $18.99 for a circle ballon that clearly stated "shaped or cut out ballon" on the sheet. How can a lead be so blind. Anyways, the cashier explained the price difference and still the "lead" had to much pride to even admit she was wrong. Lorna went even further and said "well u want me to charge you $18.99?" Which she clearly knows was incorrect. Who's making up their own prices now??? Long story short, she over charged me by charging the higher price for two different balloon sizes where it was clear as day that it wasn't right to do so. Please beware of Lorna who likes to make up her own prices, likes to talk down to employees and customers and who needs to smile if she wants to be in any customer service roll. She also lingered at the register to make sure we were overcharged dispite other customers asking for assistance in the photo area. She made them wait and basically ignored them because she was wrong and couldn't admit it. May be time to find her a better position in the back of the store where she will not be giving Longs a bad wrap. Then I go back stand in line, trying to fight back tears because I know when I get to the counter they are not going to have a prescription to pick up. I just saw a news story on social media about how CVS / Long's was expanding it's services and there were literally HUNDREDS of comments from people complaining how they can't get their regular prescription, so why would they expand their service. Hundreds! I guess i'm glad I'm not being singled out, but any chance this pharmacy knows people NEED their prescriptions and making them go into battle every single time is ridiculous. I get so much anxiety leading up to filling my prescriptions because I know what it's leading to. Multiple trips to the pharmacy and basically having to get pissed enough for someone to listen to me.
