Really annoying I do money orders every month at this longs to pay for my sons tuition since August. I've had employees let me pay with cash, card or both. Today only apparently their employee Eric said they only take cash. The amount I needed was more than I could pull out at an atm so it made it very inconvenient and I had to find another location. Don't do money orders at this location if Eric is working unless you only have cash. read more

Waited over 1 hour for my prescription.When I checked in to the pharmacy,they said they are working on my meds and will page me on the overhead when ready.I walked around for awhile and sat on their chairs in the pharmacy "waiting area."Then I finally stood back in their long line to check what why I haven't gotten paged yet.The lady who finally helps me pulls out my prescription from where it had been ready this whole time.No page overhead to let me know it's ready as the 1st lady said tbey would do.Service sucks.Recommend you go to some place else that's more efficient and customer service orientated. read more

Opened 24 hours so my boyfriend and I decided to grab some before heading back to our Airbnb spot. It was about 11:30pm and not many places were opened anymore. Water bottles were a dollar for a large one - so not a bad deal. The workers working the late shift were super nice and made small talk! Horrible service. I would of given two stars for the guy asking if we needed help during our time in the store (maybe about 1 to 2 hours in the store) but that minus 1 star was from our cashier. Our cashier Midge, was very UNFRIENDLY! (well at first she started off nice) till i asked her how much the item was due to it being a chirstmas item (yes a Christmas item in march, so i thought maybe a slight discount or something) she then pointed on the item and said in a sassy tone "WHATEVER PRICE IS ON THE ITEM THATS WHAT IT IS, THERES A PRICE SCANNER OVER THERE YOU CAN PRICE IT YOURSELF." Okay FIRST the scanner couldn't fricken scan it! SECOND she didnt answer my question if its cheaper due to Christmas item. So whatever i really wasn't in the mood to argue and fight with this sassy employee. As she was was trying to scan the items (the items that COULDN'T SCAN TO FIND OUT THE PRICE) they couldn't read, so she had to type them in. One of the items came out cheaper with her sassy attitude she said "this one came out $2 cheaper than the price, I GUESS I CAN JUST GIVE IT TO CHEAPER". Wow she made it seem like she didn't want to. I told ohh okay um thanks?. And she just toss the item on the side. She seriously was tossing my items (where she didn't care if they broke or not) even at the end, she placed the bag down roughly. Time to switch pharmacies. Every time I come here, I feel like there's some issue with my prescriptions that the staff fail to call me and address before I come up and am picking up the order. Then I wait for 30 minutes for them to correct the error and fill the prescription correctly. Seriously? Lines make me grumpy when there's supposed to be an automated system letting me know when orders have cleared. Just overall poor customer services and staff seem poorly trained to handle discrepancies because I feel like I'm the one trouble shooting issues when I walked in. Like, why am I charged $200? Why didn't you switch it to the generic? Oh, one of my prescriptions didn't go through because it's on file at another longs pharmacy? Well why didn't you call and have then transfer it over? As much as I'd love to play pharmacist, that's frankly not my job. Maybe Longs needs to hire people who do theirs. read more

Wait isn't this the Kaimuki Longs near Times and the Cookie Corner, Emi? Anyway, this is where I come to hang out when the husband has lots of work to finish up and I get off at a decent time. Normally I can always find a parking spot but it's just so crazy inside. There's ALWAYS a line and I end up waiting at least ten minutes. It's annoying because the workers move so slow and the old people in line move slow too... I understand the latter because they are OLD but the workers don't even act like there's a line or they enjoy moving as slow as molasses. I can usually find a worker to help me at other Longs but try finding someone at this one that isn't busy chatting up a coworker and trying to get away from you so you don't ask a question... God forbid a question! But I can't rate Longs too low because it's Longs! They always have a good ad and you can almost always find what you're looking for here cheaper than Times... even when Times has your item on sale. Oh beware of people here... seriously! I'm a new mommy and yes I'm already paranoid about people... butttttttt yesterday an old man touched my NEWBORN's SOFT SPOT. WHAT THE EFF? Seriously I tried to turn him away but he touched his head twice! I had him in the Baby Bjorn and he grabbed his head and said "he's cold, yeah?" No my baby is NOT cold because he's got a full on onesie and his head gets hot and sweaty when I put a cap on him. Don't think you know him better than me and don't try to touch his head! AHHHHHHHHH. This review is for the pharmacy only. I dropped off a prescription for pain medication prescribed for my wife's back surgery recovery. As you may well imagine, there is still tremendous amount of pain post surgery and my wife was suffering. After 1 day they still had not filled it, when we called in to ask why they said there were other medications previously prescribed which my wife should not take with this pain medication. Well obviously she will not take these other medications while taking the pain medication, we had 2 of her doctors call in to verify it's ok for the pain medication to be prescribed. CVS still refused to prescribe the pain medication stated it is their policy not to prescribe this pain medication because of the previously prescribed medication may interact with it, even though we know she cannot take these other medications with the pain medication and 2 doctors called in to say it's ok to prescribe the pain medication. So now my wife continues to be in pain, we have wasted a day waiting for CVS, and we have to scramble to find a pharmacy to fill it. I will not do business with some mega corporation who puts policy before common sense, I will be moving all my pharmacy needs elsewhere. read more

I feel this location is one of the better customer service Long's. Cashiers and other employees are always friendly and around. You can always find a employee easily. The bad thing about this location is they tend to run out of sale items fast. I also end of up getting rainchecks because I come to late for the sale items. read more

I've been coming to this longs since I was a kid, I still come here for all my shopping needs and for most of my prescriptions...the staff here is always friendly. Only downfall is they take so long to fill prescriptions. Like clock work, they never have it ready when I pick it up. If the prescription is called in the morning, a lot of times it is not finished in the afternoon. Other than that...Longs always has some of the best deals. read more

Convenient location for me, however, some in their pharmacy staff could use some training in etiquette. After undergoing a medical procedure, my doctor printed out the wrong name on a prescription and I made the mistake of not looking to see that it was not filled out correctly. Both mistakes of course weren't the fault of Longs drugs. However, after dropping the inaccurate prescription off and realizing it was not my name or address on the sheets, I called my doctor to call in my prescription instead. Up to this point, no problem I'll hang out until it gets approved. Meanwhile, I go to pick up some other previously filled prescriptions so I am at a different counter but still at the pharmacy. I hear from the counter,one of the staff saying "who doesn't look at his prescription before leaving the doctor?" I am willing to entertain the possibility that I wasn't the one she was talking about but either way, it probably isn't the type of comment that should be voiced loud enough for all the customers at the counter to hear. I'll keep going back to this Longs for now since most of the staff seems polite and understanding. read more

Longs Kaimuki has always been my favorite Longs and handles all my family's prescription needs. The transition to CVS was a bump in the road, but all's better now... Thanks to employees like Carol G. In pharmacy! She's simply awesome, consistently courteous and knowledgable with all customers. What an asset to the store! I live on the North Shore but was in the area and needed a lei for my son. I decided to stop at Longs and grab a few things. The store was nice,shelves well stocked. When I got what I needed my daughter and I proceeded to the check-out counter. And our cashier was a woman named Julita. As I started unloading my items she was finishing helping a customer. We waited patiently until it was our turn. When she was done she proceeded to start ringing up my items. Never making eye contact or greeting us. I noticed an item rang up for a price I thought was different from the shelf tag. So I asked her "Oh what was $9.99?" Julita looks at me then at the screen "The USB". She seemed alittle annoyed. I explained to her that I thought it was a different price. She then looks at me and doesn't even offer to go double check the price. I tell her to cancell it, I don't want it. Julita proceeds to tell me "If I take it off I'm gonna have to re-ring the whole purchase". Which I found to be weird. I asked her why she couldn't just void the single item? Which I got no response and she just ignored me. Looked at her screen and said "Because payment already went through". She voids my whole transaction and re-rings everything. Throwing my items like soda in the plastic bags, finishes my purchases and just hands me my receipt!!!! Not once making eye contact with me,never greeted and never thanked us!!!! Worst customer service ever!!!!! Julita should get another profession cause sister needs to work on her social skills big time! Can't believe Longs has people like her working there!!!! seems like this store is going through some turnover; most of the old-timer cashiers are gone and replaced by newer/younger ones. that's not always a bad thing, but it DOES make you wonder about management. at any rate, I've been to much worse locations, and I've been to better and this one walks the median. parking is a kick in the nads sometimes, and more often than not you will have to negotiate long lines (because of new, in-training cashiers) but you can typically find what you are looking for in the familiar layout. sale items in stock is usually not an issue, and I like that the aisles are wide enough - unlike the downtown store. this location will never stock as much inventory/selection as the one near university, but it is a decent neighborhood long's and is fairly consistent in service and in meeting expectations. read more

The worst customer service received tonight. Was in line to pay for purchases. 2nd in line and the customer paying had problems with pricing. Another line was opened and the cashier took the individuals behind me. When she was finished with her customers, she closed her window without calling me over even though she could see me waiting. The wait was probably more than 10 minutes. The cashier who closed her window continued walking around. I'm not one to go on Yelp because frankly I don't have time to waste doing such things. However, I've had the worst experiences at the Long's Drugs (CVS) in Kaimuki for years now which is why I never go anymore. I decided to try them since it's been years now thinking it should be new and improved since all of their renovations. I went to look for an item in the pharmacy department and when I went into the store last night, I was told they were sold out but their Long's Kahala location had the item in stock because they ordered a few from them. I went over to Long's Kahala the next day and to my surprise they didn't have the item in stock! I asked one of the workers if they had any in stock because their shelves were empty and I was also told that they had the item in stock - but he advised me that they don't. I don't appreciate people wasting my precious time and gas driving around looking for something that isn't available. I don't know why I was surprised because Long's Drugs Kaimuki has always been terrible with customer service and this day should have been no different. I just thought since it's been several years, things may have improved for the better - I guess some things never change. If I could give this location NO stars, I would. I go to Longs at least three times a week given its only a two minute walk. I had unfortunately had to go in the wee hours after midnight walking my daughter to try to get her to sleep, I ended up going in and purchasing a few items. Working customer service for my full and part time jobs, I was blown away with Midge's customer services. She offered AND took my items from my arms and took them to the counter since I only thought I didn't need a basket. A fan that was on sale was out of stock and I asked if I could have the one on the self since my daughter couldn't sleep in the humidity, she got it for me even when it was a little dirty. I checked out and forgot the fan. Came back and the fan was cleaned and looked out of the box because Midge went out of her way and I was very pleased and happy! People like Midge is the reason why I come back to this place! Thanks Midge and see you again! read more
