Rushed physicians who are realistically only in the room about 7-10 minutes. As a healthcare provider, I'm not impressed.

Dr. Brett Masayesva displays an aggressive temper accompanied by extremely unprofessional behavior. Every single lab order issued by Dr. Brett Masayesva was always wrong. Getting the orders corrected always required at least an hour in the office because all of the assistants and staff refused to help over the phone. Most often the orders had to be rewritten/reissued several times before finally being corrected. Dr. Brett Masayesva became animated and aggressive when patients asked for corrections, and he and his staff demand patients apologize both to the doctor and to the assistants before new orders were issued. Dr. Brett Masayesva and most of the assistants are very easily 'triggered' by feedback from patients during discussions. There is just no telling what may cause the assistants to be triggered and emotionally unstable; likewise, what may cause Dr. Brett Masayesva to fly into an unprofessional rant/rage. Discovering that Dr. Brett Masayesva and most of his staff are unprofessional and emotionally compromised - I certainly would never have anything to do with that practice again. They simply ignore insurance companies' established codes and policies. I specifically instructed them to only perform blood work covered by my annual physical, noting that I have no source of income. They charged me regardless. I will not be returning; I cannot afford to pay for their systemic incompetence.

Conversely, this physician is argumentative and negligent. He makes absurd claims about why basic care, such as physicals aren't needed. Any procedure that he believes will receive any push back from the insurer will be rejected. I came in with a decent corporate insurance policy but after my experience today, I'll being having a conversation with our corporate leadership to assess why my indemnifier is allowing Hughes to accept our policy. Dr. Hughes lies about objective tests results. For instance, he lied about blood pressure at 142 not being hypertension. I'm middle aged and haven't had a physical in probably 30 years. I have a long family history of specific physical health problems and symptoms that started popping up be since I was an athlete. My watch indicates I'm in workout mode when I'm at rest and I asked for a very rudimentary test ( EKG) to rule out medical problems given my family history and symptoms. Dr. Hughes is uncredible and his medical findings and opinions aren't worth a dime. This explains why his practice is located in some obscure, dumpy office on the side of the road in Longmont. Reception are pretty rude as well. Strongly recommend finding a doctor who knows how to listen, who is diligent and has actually engaged in the practice of medicine instead of testifying for insurance defense or whatever it is he does besides scam for payment. Dr. Hughes is a condescending insurance whore. Don't waste your time and seek out a real physician who takes his practice seriously and doesn't engage in lying, bigotry and other tactics used by doctors busy sucking up to insurance companies for a living instead of treating patients. Avoid at all costs. As you can see from other reviews of the " practice ", it's clear that this physician and his staff have burned many bridges in the community.

If you don't have insurance, or only carry catastrophic, go see her, she's amazing! But if you do, the $200 annual appointment plus the yearly fee probably won't work for you. No matter how much I love her (5+ stars worth), I can't justify $200 for a 45 minute visit I'm already paying many thousands of dollars a year to have covered for $10.

I will start by saying that Dr. VanK was very personable and listened during my first appointment…read more However, because of a number of issues I cannot give this office or her a high rating: 1. When I scheduled I was told I could be seen in 30 minutes and was quoted a price. When I showed up a couple days later the appointment was 1 hour, price was almost double, and when I complained the Dr. told me that she can never see first patients in 30 minutes. Isn't this something they should have called back to tell me BEFORE I showed up, so I could decide if it was worth $220 out of pocket to go in? 2. Wait time was almost 45 minutes. I have severe morning sickness, so sitting all that extra time was not comfortable. 3. I was in to get a homeopathic remedy for morning sickness. About 45 minutes into the appointment, the Dr. told me that she figures out the best remedy using a computer program, which was not working. So, I had to wait 3 days to get the official recommendation. In the meantime, she said she could "guess" at the best remedy for me (which I took, and which did not help). 4. After several days of the first remedy not working, she gave me a second which also did not work, and then a third which made my throw up more. I'm not sure if homeopathy just doesn't work, or if she is just not that good at it... 5. Finally, the lack of assistance in billing insurance, even for out-of-network, and the high expense of her direct pay method make this amazingly expensive. I went on the recommendation of a friend and because I was desperate to reduce my morning sickness. This was a huge waste of time and money.
