Like many families, our journey started off a little rocky, which can be expected when placing a loved one in a care facility. However, what truly made the difference was communication. Once we were able to connect, express concerns, and stay actively involved, the entire experience improved significantly. I would especially like to acknowledge Tanesha Stewart, Ada Abejero,Aina Reyes, Juliet Amani, Nayeli Garcia, Monique Yates, Blanca Gomez , Daisy (CNA) which has been the ABSOLUTE best an the (D.O.N.). This team works very well together, and it shows in the level of care and coordination they provide. From nursing leadership to case management and daily hands-on care, everyone plays a role in making sure residents are supported. What stands out most is their willingness to listen and collaborate. They have been open to feedback, responsive to concerns, and committed to making adjustments to better support my mother's health and well-being. That level of teamwork and communication is so important in a setting like this. One thing I've learned through this process is how important it is for us family members to stay involved--having regular communication and team meetings really helps keep everyone aligned and ensures your loved one receives the best care possible. My wife was admitted to the facility for a two-year stay, during which she experienced a sense of security and received exceptional care. The staff members exhibited attentiveness and compassion. Social worker Tanesha demonstrated exceptional professionalism and approachability, assisting me throughout the process of my wife's discharge due to the proximity of my residence in Southbay. Nurse Ada possessed extensive knowledge and readily addressed any inquiries or concerns I had. My wife was assigned to room 24-B, which was particularly convenient as it featured a television in the bed. I wholeheartedly recommend Longwood Manor as a suitable option for individuals in need of long-term care. I was a patient there for 5 months. I received really good care. The social worker Ms.Taneshia really helped me with all my concerns. She is a wonderful person. All my physical therapy was good. I was able to go from not being able to walk when I got there to being able to walk with a walker when I left. The CNA'S Elizabeth,Parish, and Lana took really good care of me. I was a bit hesitant, bringing my loved one here, but the staff was filled with such love and so very attentive to our concerns. It gave such a home-y feeling. My grandpa had a great experience here. The nurses were good to him. He came in using a ventilator and they managed to get him off of it. Then they rebuilt his strength and we managed to get him back to his home. It took some time but their rehab department did great for him. read more

LONGWOOD manor provides residents with a homie/family feeling. The staff participates in happy feet with residents -singing and playing music that brings back fond memories to the residents is a joy. Residents and activity staff take short walks for exercise. Social services provides FaceTime calls with residents and families to promote support. Sure every facility has its good and bad, but LONGWOOD strives to provide exceptional care. read more

My loved one has been a resident at Longwood Manor for 24 years now. When I started out to find a bed for them, no one wanted to take them, Longwood did. In the ensuing years they have lived comfortably many more years than I thought they would. The Staff at Longwood is caring and attentive and many of the Staff look out for my loved one as if they were family. I have seen many administrations come and go there. The administrator now, Ms. Dhaw-Desi has totally turned the facility around. The place looks and is run like a hospital and the residents all seem to be happy. There have been ups and downs for me there as would be expected, however, any issue I had has always been addressed in a timely manor. This place may not be on Rodeo Drive, but they treat their patients like stars! read more

Trifling lady looking out just for her own pay, she's doesn't care about the patients alot of the patients are going in and out of the facility smoking, the linen are old. MR. JERICO fine man looks out for patients, overworked there are like 7 LWNs for 200 patients, it take them to come and assist a patient 1/2 to come and take cate of them, it's 3 patient to a room, no tv in rooms. STAFF does not want to help all the CNAs are ltalking loud THEY DONT PAY ME ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF THEM, TERRIBLE PLACE TO TAKE PATIENTS. Mr. Pine Director of nursing didn't even come when I said I wanted to go home. He said no till I threatened to report them. Patients going out biting drugs in front of building. My husband was recently admitted after a terrible accident. Negatives: Definitely not the most state-of-the-art facility. It is so difficult to contact the social worker Tanesha. She never returns any of our calls and is the least bit helpful the ONE TIME I was able to speak with her. She's a social worker--- Shouldn't she be more helpful? Lastly, the times I've visited, his bedding was soiled with urine or the fluid secretions from trach was on his garment and pillow. **Understandably, there are other patients too, and they do care for them on a routine basis. I believe the nurses do what they can within their means. I appreciate the nurse that purchased his on hygiene supplies from his own pay to care for his patients. Positives: The nurses went above and beyond to locate me when my husband was admitted! Vicky and Jasmin, as well as the other staff that care for my husband have great bedside manners. They truly do their best, given what they are allotted. When I call the nurses, they give me updates on his condition, they contact me when anything occurs, and they honor HIPPA by keeping him and his information confidential. During this difficult time in our lives, how the staff treats their patients and the visitors/family members make a huge difference. When I visit and need their assistance or I have a concern, they are so attentive. Another positive is the interaction they have with my husband while he is there. When the nurses take the time to interact with him or simply turn on the television for him- it is greatly appreciated. It is a great way to keep his spirits up. I will always be thankful to those that exercise compassion for their patients. Although the staff may never know their full story, the care they provide can make a difference in the world for all people involved. I have family members who are nurses and I understand both sides of every situation. In so many ways, it appears they are limited by the tools provided to them by the facility. I went to visit my family member a few weeks ago and this nurse by the name of Andrea Cruz was recording videos and taking selfies with another nurse , Jenny . i also noticed residents were in the way of the videos. All of this while ignoring some of the patients asking for help. They were disrespectful towards the patients and family asking for help including myself. One patient fell and the nurse Andrea seemed annoyed because she was the only one around and had to help telling the patient to be more careful next time. Not too long after I noticed her on the phone and it sounded like she was fighting with her boyfriend or partner using vile profanity near all the patients rooms. I became curious and looked her and her friends up and she had made videos while on the clock. Not to mention, she has very inappropriate photos of herself. Her IG name iiits_drea. My sister has been there for over four years at Longwood Manor and they are very good taking good care of her. She's very experienced in this field because she worked in hospitals as Medical Records technician manager surveying many hospitals in the Los Angeles region. They are attentive to her needs, and the food is good. This facility is very clean. The floors are shiny as glass. Highly recommend anyone that is interested Tanisha the social worker is amazing. She's always there for me. If anything happens, she goes to my sister and follows through. I highly recommend Longwood Manor. read more

The facility itself is rundown like most care facilities. Although the quality of the environment is awful, it's still not the worst aspect of this facility. The encounters I had with three different staff members were all low quality. Not only are the nurses rude but the management is too. If they treat a capable, healthy civilian poorly I can't imagine how they treat their sick and vulnerable patients. Send your loved ones somewhere else if you can help it. read more

Longwood Manor provides a wonderfully caring, compassionate approach to resident care. There are so many success stories at this skilled nursing facility with residents improving and continuing a quality of life at the facility or being able to go to a lower level of care or home with their families. Many staff are long-term which provides a continuity of care. There are fun activities, music, a pool table, exercise, crafts. Social services make sure the person admitted is settled and comfortable. The kitchen prepares meals that are well-balanced and flavorful. The nurses are top-notch caring for the resident. Maintenance and housekeeping keep the place clean and in good repair. Everyone is approachable from Administration, Director of Nursing, Licensed Staff, Nursing Assistants-to all departments. I live in the homes behind this facility and have to call often and report noise complaints of patients screaming or crying loudly for a long period of time. I call out of concern for the patients and their safety/sanity, and also because of the noise disturbance as it's quite difficult to hear someone scream or cry loudly for a long period of time. This has happened on multiple occasions, and from this situation alone, I know I don't trust this facility. read more

Staff at longwood is amazing. The employees are hardworking and they care about their patients. They provide exceptional care for the residents and activities keep residents engaged in fun activities such as happy feet. In longwood manor it's a very large facility , it's a diverse facility with all different nationalities there was a shortage of staff during Covid-19, The Korean RN Hong helped cover the facility evenings and night shift even weekends and holidays , she also helps with the patients safety and concerns , all the nurses work hard for the safety and care for their patients , they provide loving tender care with emotional psychology support , Ms Cynthia brown is a hard working nurse also that helps with high quality of care . The hospital told me this is a good place for your mom can recover and now is in the hospital with infection, and stroke with a metal health. They told me your mom came to the ER like this. They ask me why she is like this then I told them I don't know because with COVID they don't allow visitors. Now my mom it's in the ICU to get better again. I regret listening to the hospital that this is a good place for patients. This place can't treat like this the patients because this place is to be to recovering after the hospital. If I could give this facility -0's I would my cousin was held in this facility for recovery they failed to do so he got a bedsore that got infected and was taken to the emergency room because they couldn't control his fever please people don't take your family members here may god forgive those who didn't treat my cousin with enough decency I don't understand how you guys just want to get paid and not take care well of the patients to me you can all rot in hell well the ones who didn't treat my cousin with the love and respect that your supposed to treat any patient, you guys all failed him but thanks to god he has woken up and is able to hold his babygirl who was born on thanksgiving day, and is able to start actually recuperating to be actually able to be with his son and the rest of the family again, screw you Longwood Manor. read more

"Fun!".. There you have it in a word! I just got home from visiting this establishment. Anyone who has had to place a family member in such an institution would undoubtedly know how stressful it can be. I am searching for a family member and rather than putting down the unsatisfactory places I visit, I just do not review them. HOWEVER, I will always give respect and acknowledgement to those that go above and beyond- Longwood Manor is the latter. I arrived there a couple of hours ago, not for from where we live. It seemed somewhat imposing as it was so big (198 beds!). I was greeted by an extremely welcoming security guard, appointed at the main entrance. He forwarded me to Karen, the senior administrator. We talked about both my needs and what the facility offered. I never felt rushed- on the contrary I could tell you all about her family and schools within her neighborhood! Whilst on the tour, she introduced me to both staff and some patients. The patients were upbeat and not defeated, which can be the case. I saw a number of Lakers jerseys worn by staff- this suggests to me they are encouraged to reflect there personality. It was a warm and welcoming environment. The facility was clean and presentable. The huge outdoor courtyard was accessible from 3 of the 4 corridors- plenty of tables and plants and open sunny space to escape hospital life. Nobody wants to be in such a predicament of being placed in an assisted living home. As a trainer, I could appreciate the fully equipped Rehabilitation Dept- encouraging staff and enthusiastic patients. It's tough work but they smiled as I observed and persevered. Longwood provides a clean, cheerful, professional and FUN environment for all that are there, patients and staff and visitors included! read more
