5 star appointment at my new eye doctor! I only wear glasses when I drive at night and when I'm on the computer, but I could tell it was getting harder to see. I was overdue for an eye doctor visit. I found Look + See by searching through my insurance and browsing the yelp reviews. This location is super convenient to me too. I scheduled my appointment online and filled out my paperwork in advance. The store is appointment only, so you ring the bell to enter. The showroom of glasses is a much bigger variety than I've seen other places. They have so many cool, unique, and artistic handmade frames. I loved browsing the glasses and sunglasses. These are one of a kind glasses you will not find anywhere else. The appointment was extremely thorough. I have never had virtual reality goggles on at an eye doctor! They definitely have the newest technology. I also had to pay for an image of my eyeball, which I was happy to do since I was interested. The doctor explained they can see things like high blood pressure based on the veins behind your eyeballs. My eyes were good to go! I got my updated prescription and paid for that eye photograph that wasn't covered by insurance. I decided to get my updated frames online so they'd be covered by my vision stipend toward frames since the ones in the store were all so much more. I would definitely get cool glasses here if I wore them all the time, but since they are mostly used when I am just by myself on the computer or driving, I decided to pass this time. I can't believe I've never reviewed this place--I surely thought I had by now! I've been going here for about 6 years now, since I went to St. Ed's and needed an ATX eye doctor. Since then, I've only ever had wonderful experiences with Dr. Bailey and the office as a whole. For starters, the space itself is light and stylish and doesn't have that stodgy doctor's office feel--a huge plus! Yet, this place is not all style, it's substance too. Every time I come, I am seen promptly. My visits are thorough but efficient. The staff are all friendly and Dr. Bailey is a gem. I also appreciate they don't use the classic dilation technique but have a quick and easy machine, albeit it's a small out of pocket cost. Aside from annual visits, I've had two instances of problem visits and they were handled amazingly. Once was when I scratched my cornea--one of the most awful experiences of my life--and I was so grateful for the care I received here. I emailed late at night after it happened and was seen early the next day. Not only that, but Dr. Bailey was available all weekend via email to answer any and all questions and concerns with my recovery. And then recently, I thought I had pink eye and being pregnant, didn't want to leave it be in case it was an infection. Same thing--emailed at night and was seen right away the next day and left feeling seen, heard, and well cared for. They have totally earned my loyalty. read more

I have had 20/20 vision my whole life and then about two years ago, I started using +1.0 readers in dark/dimly lit areas as well as for reading fine print. I have zero experience with glasses and contacts so I did not know where to go and chose Texan Eye Care where I felt they did a thorough job. Needing a checkup a year later, I started reading reviews and Look+See had the highest ratings on Yelp and Google in the '04 area, plus I live right around the corner, so it was a no brainer. I thought Texan Eye care did a thorough job, but Look+See exceeded my expectations. Being equipped with the latest technology, they conducted several eye scans as well as eye tests and I felt comfortable with every member I engaged with. Dr. Bailey was easy to talk to and I appreciated that he talked to me in layman's terms. Thankfully, I do not need more than prescription readers so I purchased a very stylish and affordable pair from their clinic and I'm actually looking forward to wearing them. read more

Gorgeous office and nice people but they charge you like crazy for everything. Like sticker shock crazy. I went to them because my insurance "covered" my visits but each time I've come out I've had to pay $100+ out of pocket for "services". They're happy to provide you the information in terms of services, but it doesn't make it any cheaper and you don't really have an option to opt out if you want the "covered" services. For example, if you wear contact lenses, not only do you have to pay for lenses (fair) you have to pay an extra $110 each year to re-up your prescription. If you need retinal imaging, thats an additional $39. Also note, their glasses are far out of coverage range for any insurance provided. I got some cute glasses here a couple years ago that set me back $500+. Generally I liked the convenience - location and online scheduling, and the people are responsive, but these add on costs are annoying when I've had plenty of other optometrist appointments in other states/cities where my out of pocket costs were for "add-ons" such as lenses or glasses I purchase. Not a $100+ screening so that they can prescribe me the "add-on". read more

First and foremost, GREAT PEOPLE make Look + See the best experience I've ever had for glasses/contacts (of which I've had many over the years)... from the first call, to the assistant performing the initial exam diagnostics, to the folks helping to find a frame, and last but certainly not least, the most friendly Dr. Bailey who was great at understanding and explaining some of the things I was experiencing. The "medical" part of the office is as nice as one could ask for, everything is very modern and thorough but easy-going and comfortable. The "boutique" part is very relaxed and staffed by folks who are very kind and eager to assist. Communication was very thorough after the visit, making picking up glasses and contacts very easy. This place is incredible. My entire family comes here now for eye care. I decided to visit this place after reading multiple high reviews online and am so glad that I followed the advice of others and scheduled a visit. They have the most advanced eye care technology and the eye doctors here are extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I learned a great deal about my eyesight and info about my kids as well. I can't get into the details right now, but I highly HIGHLY recommend this place for eye care especially if you have unanswered questions about your eye sight or reading glasses or really anything eye related (eye allergies too). You will not leave this place with unanswered questions but instead feeling very content (both having your eye needs met and with the exceptional customer service). They have the most stylish frames too! My son got a pair of very stylish and super cool indestructible frames that he loves! They have something for everyone. I also like that they take their time and never rush you and answer all questions and address any concerns. The staff truly cares about patients and the work that they do! My experience at Look + See is always great, and Dr. Tammy Vo is awesome!!! However, I have noticed my out of pocket charges now have become unreasonable in my opinion. The office/doctor is in network, yet my yearly appointment (unlike past years) was well over $100 with the majority of my out of pocket charge being for my contact evaluation. I noticed I was priced for "Level 2" evaluation but I have always had an astigmatism that had been discussed during my contact evaluation so not much has changed to now being charged at least $20 more just for the contact evaluation this go around. read more

I am so very happy with my visit here! This was recommended to me after my boyfriend said he loved his experience at Look + See. I visited in early April 2021 and they had ALL of the very attentive COVID precautions in place - Tammy gave me a fresh mask and taped the gaps around my nose, had me wash my hands and sanitize between each station, she wiped down each chair and machine in front of me. She also did a great job at explaining each step and process. All of the exams and preliminary steps were very clear and quick before I met with Dr. Bailey to discuss my scans, the issues I've been having and his recommendations. I LOVE his demeanor and personality, it felt like chatting with an old friend. After going over everything and making sure I had no more questions or concerns, he passed me off to another team member who walked around the show room with me helping to pick out frames. Each and every one we chose she handled carefully and set aside to sanitize before they were placed back onto the displays. I got to try on as many as I liked and after I narrowed down to a few frames, I got to go outside and sit at a table with a mirror so she could stand at a safe distance while I tried them on without my mask on. After she and I worked together to figure out my lens needs, she took me to optician Adweena who patiently helped me try on lenses. I've never had anyone work with me to find the right pair. She pointed out things about the fit of the glasses I never would have thought of on my own. I ended up ordering a new pair of frames and lenses that I'm so excited to get! I've been coming to Look + See for a few years now and always feel so taken care of with my vision needs. I was told once, years ago, that I should see an ophthalmologist, because I'm more at risk of developing a specific condition. I was in between cities at the time and never addressed the issue. At my first appointment at Look + See, I talked to Dr. Bailey about this concern from my former optometrist, and he addressed it and put me much more at ease about it. Every time I go l, I feel like they have more modern tech and thankfully no longer use those eye drops that blur your near vision. I stopped by post COVID recently and their precautions were amazing, felt so safe. And plus they're speedy so I was in and out in a few mins. Parking can be a little tricky with a small parking lot so plan ahead in case you have to park elsewhere. read more

My entire experience from start to finish was amazing. Scheduling an appointment online, the friendly text/email reminders, and the check-in process from the car all made it so easy. I've been extremely cautious with COVID, and the entire staff made me feel safe and reassured. Everything was cleaned thoroughly before and after use, glasses were cleaned after trying on, and you could even take glasses outside to try on so you can see what they look like without your mask. Every person I interacted with was incredibly friendly and generous with their time (and I tried on a lot of glasses). I can't even say enough positive things about Dr. Tammy Vo. She is hilarious, energetic, patient, and communicated everything clearly. I've never had an eye doctor explain the challenges I had with my vision, and she made sure I fully understood, using visuals (of the inside of my actual eyes!) and layman's terms. Just like all the reviews say, this is a great eye doctor, GO! Dr Vo is awesome, makes an eye exam fun, the entire staff was friendly, it was an overall great experience! The thing I appreciated most is that Dr Vo took the time to explain the reason why I was having the feeling of really tired and strained eyes. No eye doctor has ever actually addressed the problem, they have always just shrugged me off. She taught me how to recognize the feeling of dry eyes, and explained how progressive lenses actually work. I have never been taught how to wear them after wearing them (and hating them) for 3 years because I didn't know how to adjust to them. Overall great experience, the only downside is that you either have to dilate your eyes or pay for the retinal scan. Other offices let you opt out of this. Can't wait to go back! read more

I've been avoiding wearing glasses for a bit, and I started to notice more of a glare due to my astigmatism. I stumbled in here after moving into the neighborhood and noticed how friendly the staff was. I booked my initial appt. and ended up ordering my frames from them. The frames can be a bit pricey, even with insurance since they tend to carry higher end frames, but they're stylish. Every time I've dropped in, they have a rotating selection of updated frames. I've stopped in a few more times than I planned because I've dropped and/or bent my glasses, and they've adjusted them without any issues. A big plus for me? They allow you to browse without having someone up-sell you, and they have refreshments--Topo Chico, because it's Austin . I know I'm investing in my eyesight, and I'm happy finding stylish and unique frames. I'll definitely be seeing them again. read more

It's always a pleasure to see local businesses prosper in this city! The office is beautiful and located in a really up and coming location.Not only is the staff friendly but they are helpful in any way possible, customer service is really a priority. Dr. Vo is not only professional but also very personable, i've been wearing outdated contact lenses for a decade or so. The visit to her office and the care that came along with making sure i got into the right lenses for my eyes is something most offices don't do too often. There was also a major concern about possible developing a retinal detachment, since my mother has had one in the last 5 years that almost left her blind. Not only did Dr. Vo give me detailed information but also assuaged my fears in regards to the issue. The office has all the latest technology, so if you hate getting your eyes dilated there is another option for you. There are also some really trendy frames that no other optometry shop is carrying. I walked in because this place is very close to my house, I keep coming back because Dr. Vo and her staff are truly awesome! I've seen Dr. Vo for almost a year now and truly sad that I moved away from Austin.. I will 100% still come see her for my appointments because she's just that good. I had 3 procedures to help me with my insanely dry eye problems and on the last appointment I also was moving to NY. Dr. Vo moved her schedule around to accommodate me so I wouldn't miss my flight. My eyes feel better and yah.. you can't really save my vision but at least I can go to a place that I look forward to going to. I had a great experience getting an an eye exam here this week. Jessica walked me through all the preliminary tests and was wonderful. She made it really fun. Dr Vo answered all my questions and gave me a very thorough eye exam, explaining things to me and making jokes to ease me through all the crazy one or two, one or two weirdness. Dr. Tammy Vo and her team are phenomenal, and I wasn't going to write a review until reading some of the absurd one star reviews on her business page. I've visited Look + See on two occasions now - once for an annual eye exam and eye glasses, and most recently for contact lenses. On both occasions I was provided with exceptional service, timely results, and I never felt pressured into purchasing an item or service I wasn't comfortable with. The receptionists and extended staff are all warm, polite, and organized. I'd recommend this business to anyone I know because I feel welcomed and understood by them. Nobody gets thoroughly excited about an eye appointment, but at least I can enjoy my time at Look + See without being bored to death at a strip mall chain store. read more

This was the first time I met Dr. Bailey and I totally LOVE him. I actually walked in because my right eye had been swollen and red in the mornings and while I thought it wasn't conjunctivitis, I wanted to be sure my eye wasn't going to fall out since it was not resolving after day 5 with no contacts.
