5-23-25 Tried to change my annual appointment due to an appliance delivery the same day next week. I was told Dr. Johnson was booked through JUNE 2026. I told them I'd find another ophthalmologist. Wasn't very happy about my previous appointment last year. Prescription was changed but wasn't right. They redid the exam but the prescription was still wrong and I had to pay another $40 for the prescription. I've been getting by with reading glasses because I can't focus using the "new" prescription glasses. The doc wasn't pleased that I had them redo the last prescription. So ZERO STARS. read more

I will make this as short as possible. Something that should have took 3 weeks took 3 months. At first they said my glasses will take 3 weeks. They did not show up then they said they'll be here next week. They were not there the following week. They said we are. Sorry we do not know how but the order didn't go through. We will rush order them. They'll be here in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later they said my form of payment was wrong because of a new company they dealt with had to reorder them took another 3 weeks. They did not show up. Then they said here's a tracking number to track your your order. Another week after they got the tracking number as when they finally showed up and the only explanation was this is something we do not like to happen. No sorry no anything so if you need glasses go somewhere else. read more

The Opthamology department is good, I like Dr. Champion. But the eyeglass department is awful. Mean, unhelpful clerks and a very small selection. Long waits in an over air conditioned room and you can't make an appointment. If you find a frame you like but it's the wrong size, forget about a special order. They don't do them. Had great experiences there until recently. Been going there for a few years now. Recently needed to reschedule my appointment for April and they told me the first opening was November! The lady answered the phone coldly and was rude during the whole conversation. Will not recommend them anymore. So disappointing. read more

You must make your appointment a year in advance. If something comes up and you absolutely cannot make that appointment, they will bump your appointment to 6 months later. The office manager never even asked if we were having any vision problems. They are rigid and uncaring. I recommended them to many friends. I will no longer do that. I agree with the patients saying there are long waits during the appointment. They don't have a large variety of frames either. We won't be returning. read more

I keep seeing the nice reviews of this place and it doesn't match my experience with them. We recently visited the Eye Center and found the staff somewhat abrupt. Accordingly, I subsequently called and canceled an upcoming appointment with them. They weren't even interested in why the appointment was canceled. If I could rate this facility below 0 I would. On the day of my appointment I called after realizing I never received a confirmation of appointment email, text, or call. When I called the employee in scheduling said "oh you were rescheduled to August". Kept in mind I move last April from Tennessee so my contact prescription is expired which means I will run out in the next couple weeks and not be able to see. I NEVER received a call, text, or email about rescheduling my appointment. I took hoodies off from work for this appointment and all they can do is put me on the "cancellation list". When I asked for proof of cancellation notice I was provided the note the doctor left for her staff requesting cancellation. read more

Worst service ever! And they don't care about whether they are doing a good job or not. My first appointment with them last 2 1/2 hours for a standard eye exam. The majority of that time was waiting. When I finally saw the optometrist, he spent a grand total of 10 minutes with me. I came in specifically because I had a rush order for new contacts that needed to be filled within a week. Even though I called three weeks prior and explained when I needed the new contacts, they could only schedule me one week ahead of a trip. I was assured they would be able to meet my request. They failed on that one. Then when I got back and finally got the contacts, the prescription was wrong. I knew this immediately, but they made me wait a week to come back in. A week later, they re- examined me and let me know they would replace the lens that was not right. Five weeks later, they finally called to let me know the replacement lens was in. When I asked how come it took so long, they said they messaged me, but since they hadn't heard from me they decided to call. I was told that their standard call back was one month. Really? You didn't possibly think I never got your message. Finally, through all this and giving them poor reviews and feedback, I never once got an apology. So take your business to some one who cares, as this business obviously does not. read more

First visit, I wasn't impressed. I moved here from a town where I had a great eye care doctor. I've had multiple issues with my eye and am concerned that they may not have the expertise I need. Subsequent appointments have been a bit better. I've signed release of info and asked them to get records from my previous provider, but they haven't . I feel it's important. I've had a detached retina, have glaucoma, a hemmorage that I got shots in my eye for it, LASIK and cataract surgery. I hope they can keep me seeing! read more

This place is awful!!!!!!!!!! Doctors (if you can call them that) Charged me an obscene amount of money to tell me to go and buy some eye drops for my eyes. They had already me pay for a contact appointment separate from a glasses appointment. Now they are trying to make me pay for reevaluations as they make guesses as to what is wrong with my eyes. I'm pretty sure it's the contacts that I already overpaid for, but they want me to keep coming back so they can keep making guesses and charging me each and every time. Do not use these jokers they are intentionally looking to rip off Transylvania county one person at a time! At the very least make them tell you what they will be charging up front so that you know what you're getting into. It's definitely worth the drive to stay away from these con artists. read more

On Memorial Day I got a very tiny a piece of wood imbedded in my eye right over the pupil. Called to find out who was on-call that day. The Dr. on call called me back and told me to go to Urgent care or the ER. Then hung up without a goodbye or good luck. Said he was just at home. Not very On-Call! I'm not sure that I want someone in the ER messing with the area of my eye where my vision is. Very delicate tools needed, which is why I wanted an eye doctor to help me. Why be on-call if you are unwilling to help someone. I need my vision as a lifeguard. Sad to say a very poor experience. That being said, a few years ago Dr.Christianson took the time to see my husband on Thanksgiving when he badly scratched his eye. These new Dr.'s need to take a page from his book. We were beyond grateful and sang his praises for years. read more

Had to wait over 1 hour past my appointment. Since the new staff took over a few years ago the service has gone down hill. Not recommended.

I woke up with eye pain and blurred vision one day that progressed as the week went on. I finally called Looking Glass as a first time patient when the condition didn't get better and described my symptoms. Hearing the seriousness, they had me come in right away. I saw Dr. Johnson who was so diligent and had great bedside manner. He knew the problem right away and referred me to a neurologist. He personally kept me updated on the status of my scans and advocated for me with my insurance company. The best part came today when he personally called me to ask how I have been doing. I know that he must be a very busy man, and that's a job that's normally left to an assistant. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson and cannon thank him enough for listening to me and catching my diagnosis so early. read more

The most competent, thorough eye examination and surgery I've ever had. Everything went perfectly and I'm now seeing like I'm in a whole new world. Everything was thoroughly and accurately explained. The customer service was fine. If they had glitches several years ago, they're in the past. I'm a LOT more concerned with competent medical and eye care than I am with being pampered by great customer service and I think the previous service complaints are short sighted garbage. I have been to the Brevard location several times and had great service. They must have made some adjustments since the last review. My optometrist took his time with me, contacts fitting service was friendly, and when I compared the cost of similar glasses online, Looking Glass was within a competitive range. They were great about following up on my order as well. read more

This office has the worst customer service I have experienced anywhere! I was referred here by a co-worker and went to see them in July of 2014. My experience is, that once they have your money (my glasses were $1000., not counting my eye exam), they don't care about you at all. I am the Director of a five star spa, my business would fail in six months if I treated my clients this way. I will be actively telling people to NOT go here! read more

Epically horrible customer service!!! If you want medical care that involves returning your call after you've left a message or if you want accurate communication in a reasonable amount of time, take your business elsewhere. It took me leaving 2 voicemails and calling 4 times in a week to reach a person who was actually able to find out what the problem was with refilling a contact lens prescription. I have been going to Looking Glass eye center for years and after today will not be returning. They seem to have steadily gone downhill and if they were not the only eye doctor in Brevard I would have left much sooner. I went into the office to pay my eye doctor bill one week after my appointment and was told I had a zero balance on my account. I assured her that I still owed and was told that I didn't. I left that day very confused but not willing to argue over it. 90 days later they sent that balance to collections. So now they have caused not only stress on my end but my credit will suffer due to them having inaccurate books. I feel there is no excuse for running a business this way. I called them and although she was nice on the phone I was told there was nothing I can do to get it out of collections. I will be driving an hour from here on out in order not to go to this sorry excuse for a business. Looking Glass is lucky it doesn't have competition. read more

I've been going to an eye doctor here since I was in Elementary school. I have never run into a problem. Now, almost 20 years later, I'm still going back and recently had the Lasik eye surgery. I had so much support and so many times over the years where I was able to easily reschedule or get in last minute. I will continue to go here to see everyone! read more
