I called this salon to get a quote for a very straightforward service: a toner/glaze to tone down my highlights and a blowout/silk press finish. I was upfront that I have K-tip extensions, and initially I was quoted $280, which already felt high for what I was requesting, but I still asked for clarification on pricing. Afterward, I was told that the silk press would be $200 per hour because they "didn't want to melt the K-tips" and would need to take their time. This explanation didn't make sense, because if a glaze/toner is applied, the hair must already be washed and blow-dried as part of the service. Those steps are not optional and are already included with toning. It felt like I was being double-charged (or even triple-charged) for the same basic steps--wash, blow-dry, and then flat ironing--by labeling it as a separate "silk press" billed hourly. Charging $200 per hour simply to flat iron after a glaze, when washing and blow-drying are already required, is unreasonable. I've had my hair done in high-end salons before, including with extensions, and I've never experienced pricing structured this way. The lack of a clear, logical breakdown of services and the overlapping charges completely turned me off. I ultimately decided not to book. I'm Jennifer from the Wash DC area; we spend a month in Vail every March. I needed to get my roots colored and Susan did an excellent job. She made recommendations that I accepted and my blow dry was great too. I loved the volumizer spray she used as well; normally I avoid adding extra "stuff" to my hair before a blow dry as I don't like the weight or potential stickiness some products add. The spray she used was perfect. Need to find out what brand it was. Nice clean salon too, very friendly service. I will definitely go back to this salon next time I'm in Vail. Just had a root touch up, glaze and cut with Susan. Hair looks great and Susan was very personable and easy to talk with. She followed my request to just trim my hair one-half inch, and she asked my preferences about hair near my face. She was respectful yet insightful about my look. I had wanted an even length all over. Susan gave the pros of that look and also showed me what some layers in the back would look like. I decided I liked the look of some layers as it seemed more elegant. Although my cut was technically done, Susan gladly added some layers in the back. I'm very happy with the end result! Looks like it's probably good for women, but wasn't too happy with the cut as a guy. I only wanted a little taken off the top - "like half an inch at most" - and she took off at least as inch. She should have asked before shredding away, "is this good?" Also, upon hearing that I'm from Chicago, she went right into some rant about what a hellhole ghetto it is. I mean, I get it, not everyone is into big diverse cities with people of all backgrounds. But a reasonable person keeps that to themselves when meeting someone from Chicago. It'd be like me, upon hearing her accent, launching into a rant about how dumb I find the Brits to be for voting themselves out of the EU. Instead, I kept that to myself. There are times where sudden inconveniences occur in ones life and get in the way of concocted events. However, this staff was not understanding about my situation at all and from the moment they picked up the phone, they were talking to us with a nasty attitude and even started yelling. If you need your eye brawls waxed, hair color, cut or treatment this is your place. You must go see Jill! My Mom and I both go to her. We have followed her to three salons because she is the BEST in the Valley! If you are lucky you can meet her pup, Thelma, who is adorable. She is amazing for wedding hair styles and make up. I was getting married in Mexico so I went to Jill before I left to do a trial wedding day hair style, to take pics of it to show the stylist in Mexico, and get products to help the curls stay that I could take with me. She even curled my extensions and told me which ones to buy. I was able to show the stylist in Mexico exactly what I wanted and what products would hold in 95 degree heat. She is a make up genius and guru. She introduced me Mac long lasting lip stick which now I own in tons of colors. read more

Skip this place! I drove from steamboat 3 hours round trip as Susan was recommended. I let her know I wanted a full color from blonde to brown and full highlights and a cut. I was looking forward to my make over for over a month. When I arrived I said d my phone was about to die did she have a plug in and wanted to show her the picture of what I wanted done. She got mad and said she didn't have time for me? She was rude and the only person working at that salon. I was about to drop 400.00 but she refused to help me and turned me away. As I sat pissed in my car texting my sister and niece about the incident she came out to my car and knocked on the window and said she guessed she could do some but not all of it. I said no thank you and went to a salon in Edwards where they were amazing and helped me get my look at half of Sudan's cost! I guess she doesn't need money or recommendations as she picked a fight for me to leave! I have never ever been treated so rudely and will never go their again as she wasted my time, gas and my dream of a new look! Pass on this place! She was horrible to me! Debbie Bates from Steamboat Springs is terribly wrong with her review. She booked her appointment six weeks in advance, once she was scheduled I called her asking her to come in later or move to a different day because my mother was in Hospice and had a routine drs visit to change her meds, she refused. I was unable to attend the drs appointment with my mom. When she arrived for her scheduled appointment, she handed me a picture for an unattainable result for that day. If I had done what she had asked I would have burned her hair off due to prior damage she had. I offered to do an all over process but refused to do the highlights. This is where you became upset and demanded I do exactly like the picture. I have been in business for 30 years and my name is on your head, which was in bleach blonde and in very bad condition. I tried to express that as a new client I would have preferred you had called me in advance and showed me the ideal picture and we could have scheduled it out appropriately, in a few sessions. I had no idea you expected a full makeover in less than 3 hours. The prices you might have been prepared to spend is not at all as much as the price you paid. You were set up for a price of 265, not 400. You are a hairdresser's nightmare. read more
