    Taco salad

Whoa. Best ski lodge food I've ever had. Just look at the pic! The size and flavors filled me up. Quality Fast lines. I like how I could customize my taco salad. I got lots on it. Free guacamole too. Loved eating by the window they have precautions and ask you sit in different spaces for COVID. Wish the seats had back rests but just a wish.

The outside of the restaurant doesn't look like much, but the inside is gorgeous.

This might be my favorite ski lodge I've ever been too. The views were spectacular, true 360 of the surrounding mountains, and the food was great. It also had this gorgeous old school vibe. Definitely didn't feel like your "fake but commercialized" ski lodge. Loved the taco salad I got. You could really customize it. I put pretty much everything on it! Line moved quick and the staff was super nice. Our crew just sat and chatted and ate for quite a while. Easy to find a table at 1:00pm on a Saturday.

In its own class, mountaintop ski lodges, this one is very good. To find a better one you most likely will have to ski in Europe - or visit the Seattle Ridge Lodge nearby - but the lope choices at the latter are limited. This is a mountain lodge, however, to be used to get warm and satisfy craving while skiing: there is no white linen, exciting food, fancy architecture, or servers. For all of this and much more, stop at the Roundhouse a quarter of the mountain below. The lodge is like Dr. Who's TARDIS, "much bigger on the inside". Bunker-like outside appearance offers plenty of seating inside in the off-season (pretty much anytime except between Christmas and New Year). If you enter through the main entrance, from the lifts, go to the back wall for some spectacular views (alas, this section might be full). The canteena-style food service is to the left of the main entrance. Low tables and seating are convenient if you are in your skiing gear. The food is Mexican-style, and nothing to write home about - as expected on the mountain. I prefer soups.

Best part was the tortilla, the tortillas are handmade and delish. The fish was cooked well, standard tilapia or something similar, which isn't my favorite, but no complaints on preparation. Really liked the cabbage toppings and it was full of them. Ordered the pupusas later, I liked it (a tad greasy), kid likes the stuff back home much better, but a filling lunch for $15 you can't beat. It's 3 for $15, we had beans and a loroco and a jalapeno. Kid had the tacos - steak and chicken and really liked them. Better price than Despo's, better tortillas, but not a restaurant like Despo's and closes earlier. Service was super friendly.

They were possibly the best I've ever had. The grilled chicken and veggies were as you'd expect but they were served with fresh, hand made tortillas, guac, beans and rice. The owner also served them with a unique salsa that was "a little bit spicy but very delicious ". Even though it was lunch the portion was more than enough for two. I liked the setting inside a train car. Cozy and quaint, but a little stuffy on a warm day. If they could've opened a window it would've been perfect. They had plenty of outside seating however so if eating al fresco is your thing they have it in abundance. I'd definitely eat here again.

There is almost always a large crowd gathered out front, which usually tells you everything you need to know--but we finally made a point to stop in for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. The Brews Since it's a public house, the beer list is extensive. I opted for their Pilsner and Lager. Both were exactly what you want on a warm afternoon: light, crisp, and incredibly refreshing. The Food We decided to put their "best in town" claims to the test, and they did not disappoint: * Fish and Chips: They advertise these as some of the best around, and I'm happy to report they aren't exaggerating. The breading was perfectly light--not greasy or heavy--and the fish itself was delicate, flaky, and cooked to perfection. * BLT with Grilled Halloumi: My wife went with this, and the addition of the halloumi was a game-changer. Served on a pretzel bun, it was a unique and delicious twist on a classic. * The Fries: You can't have a pub lunch without good fries. These are those "just right" beer pub fries--crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Easily my favorite style. Verdict The atmosphere was great, the service handled the crowd well, and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be back for lunch on our next trip. If you're in Ketchum, don't just drive by--give it a try.

From the mug club, it seems like this is a local staple. There's trivia on Tuesdays. TVs on the walls. Picnic tables outside, if you're so inclined. I think some pubs just order from Sysco, fry it up and serve. Five stars because they're not doing that! Their food was "pub" but the elk burger was handmade and fresh, the pot pie wasn't out of a can thought the veg maybe been frozen not fresh, and some of the store bought stuff like their pretzel seemed better than a defrosted ballpark.
