Best ski lunch. Do yourself a favor and make reservations for lunch. Lobster roll was amazing. Experience and views are top notch

An institution on the mountain for over 50 years. Atop Bald mountain with spectacular views of all the mountain ranges around us. The inside of the roundhouse is magical. See the photos below. Great cocktails and delicious food with amazing service. You can ride the gondola up even if you don't ski or stop in while on the slopes. Don't miss it.

I didn't have high expectations for a restaurant at the top of the mountain but I was absolutely wrong. The Roundhouse was delicious and the staff were nice and attentive (shoutout to Karen!) Overpriced but honestly much less expensive than I expected and the portion sizes were large. The Mountain Mule and Spicy Pineapple Margarita were tasty and had the right amount of alcohol. On top of that, the views were incredible. This is a must visit in Sun Valley. They take reservations!

The best meal we had all week! We were looking for a nice dinner to celebrate our last night in town. We took a gondola from river run up to the roundhouse under the cover of starlight which was truly magical. While we waited for our table we grabbed cocktails from the bar. The bartender personable and entertained us with stories and gave us local recommendations while we sipped our drinks. Once seated we ordered off the set 4 course menu. 1st Charcuterie, 2nd potato pottage, 3rd lamb shank, 4th a chocolate dish. Honestly, I was in a food coma by dessert, I don't remember it. The pottage and shank were amazing and extremely reasonably priced especially since we were at a ski resort on the top of a mountain. Highly recommend eating here for the exclamation point to your trip!

Booked through OpenTable for a reservation about a month in advance for lunch. I think you can come without a reservation if you get here right when they open. My boyfriend and I were skiing so we did not need to purchase a gondola ticket up. For the rest of our party, I believe the ticket was around $20. Which can be bought at the River Run ticket office. Our reservation was at 11am, but they didn't open doors until 11:05am. They also couldn't open their door lol. Service was ok. They didn't seem to be too organized. Food was good, fresh, but not out of this world. I did enjoy the fondue, but I felt that the fondue was a little bit low. The grilled beef was really tender and I liked the fruits that accompanied the fondue. They had a vegan salad for my bf's mom and she thought it was pretty good. Burgers seemed good, but not amazing. Restrooms clearly wasn't prepared for opening..had to change the toilet paper roll at 11am. The ambiance is very nice, warm and cozy, with real fireplaces. Too bad it was super snowy! We couldn't see the view :( Once you get in the restaurant, then you will understand why it is called Roundhouse!

Cool spot, but I wouldn't say better than Seattle ridge lodge. We just wanted to experience the fondue and it was yummy but so overpriced for what it is.

Working in SV, from Oklahoma City, since mid October. What a beautiful, grateful experience I have had. Forgive me, as I dug into my food before taking a photo. I had the Gravlox and winter vegetable bisque. All were to die for! I also partook in the house Cab, Brut Rose, and Irish coffee. David, whom I believe to be the GM or owner, was so kind to me with conversation. He also took pictures for me around the restaurant. Such a warm place to be, with the BEST views. Be sure and make reservations weeks in advance! You will take the Roundhouse Express Gondola up. $40 for the round trip. Take your time and enjoy the lodge, before or after.

Nothing says après ski quite like a cauldron of cheesy fondue at a high elevation. At only slightly lower of an elevation are Round House's prices. Our party of three ordered fondue with a bratwurst ad on along with a salad, truffle fries, and artichoke soup. This was plenty of food for us. The truffle fries were bomb.com. I will most likely overdose on potato by the time I leave Idaho. However, I was surprised to find a piece of crab in my artichoke soup as it was not included in the menu description. I'm all about crab but it also would have been nice to include that detail given that some folks have seafood allergies. The staff are incredibly friendly and the restaurant is enforcing mask wearing. Be sure to book early. While awaiting my dining companions I heard the host turn down no less than five inquiring parties. Side note: I am v curious to find out how they lugged an industrial kitchen and entire restaurant up this mountain.

At 8pm they are out of prime rib, halibut, trout, artichokes, ribs, and salad! WHAT is going on? I do understand this sort of thing happening on occasion, but literally the last 4-5 times anyone in our family has attempted eating here, it has been such a bad experience like this! Bad food, out of main staple items, or summoned to the dreaded basement... Unfortunately, after 46 years of dining at Pioneer, I think we are done! The past several seasons, something seems different. Always out of MANY items, and service is blah! It was literally a family favorite, so it's sad to even be typing this!!! Shout out to Sawtooth Club for getting us in last minute and serving a delicious meal! We will be back to support them!

The food always comes out hot and prepared well. My personal favorite is fish and chips but occasionally branch out. Latest is calamari steak. Not your typical rubbery appetizer. This is an actual steak cut into thick strips, lightly breaded and salted to perfection. Then tossed in a subtle, but flavorful, tomato', onion, garlic, cilantro salad. Served with a simple crusty bread and lemon wedge. Killer! Will definitely do that again. Cocktails above average for the area and match typical price for area. They do not even say hello when you enter. They are clearly prejudiced! I am an Elkhorn owner and I have owned my place for about 6 years now! I will never eat at this establishment again. The portions were very generous, and everything was incredibly filling. Everything was cooked perfectly, from the eggs and breakfast items to the sides, and even the coffee was surprisingly good. It's not often you find a breakfast spot where both the food and coffee stand out. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place for families, larger groups, or anyone looking to enjoy breakfast without feeling cramped. Despite the steady flow of customers, the staff stayed attentive, checked in on us regularly, and kept the tables turning over quickly without making anyone feel rushed. I'm definitely here for the flash-gordon-fast and very kind service, the ease of the menue, the deco (I didn't know how much I love wooden bears!) The deco is with a lot of bears both taxidermy as as also wood engraved/sculpured. The walls are covered with vintage Sun Valley posters, Fish & bait illustrations and carved bear deco. The bar has a decorative roof with a taxidermied bobcat and skiing stuff, which makes the Kneadery even more cozy and specially unique as a venue. The loss of a star comes from the blandness of the egg scramble, even though they use high quality eggs; the weird taste of the wonderfully presented whipped butter in a cup -- I love when non-ice-cream looks like ice-cream somehow. Is that real butter? Not discernible by taste. My stomach sadly reacted to that detail. I might need a separate conversation with my stomach about this, but it stays that it tasted weird also to my husband! In past years I would order an omelette with cheese and it came with a bland plain egg omelette folded in half and stuffed with cheese. Maybe an eggadilla (Huevadilla?) would be more of a correct description. Not sure if this technique is an American classic (sorry for slamming it), but I'd recommend to add the cheese to the eggs *before* frying the mixture. The cheesy richness of the cheese enhances the eggs tenfold! My hb really enjoyed his half order of the two-two-two menu item (2 pancakes, 2 poached eggs, 2 slices of bacon), just the egg was overdone and not even a little runny. Why is it 4 stars and not 3? I really hope the cook figures out cooking eggs one of these days. In the past, I have had the breakfasts with other people, and they all loved their orders which were non-egg-related.
