We travel to Ketchum twice a year. We eat every dinner during each weekly trip at The Sawtooth Club. Most importantly, the staff is great. The food is great. I have tried almost every item on the menu. Never had a meal that we didn't enjoy. Our favorite is the Idaho Trout. The decor reflects the character of historic Ketchum. Unfortuntely, bus boys never came back to us to give water either so had to go back downstairs to get service. There were so many excellent choices it was hard to decide. We decided on the fire grilled steak and the rack of lamb. They had fresh Northwest Steamer Clams on special. The clams were an excellent choice for an appetizer. The one pound serving was a lot for two people but still so tasty. Whenever I get a chance I order lamb. Their rack of lamb did not disappoint. It was so good, especially when paired with the garlic mashed potatoes. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. Often the vegetables are over cooked but not these. The steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and juicy. The steak was paired with French fries. These are some of the best French fries that I have ever had. read more

Everything was going quite well the food and drinks were pretty good and our server was nice. However, at around 4 in the morning today, I experienced pain worse than I have in years. The food here is honestly perfect. The rack of lamb and steak were made just the way we like it. The seasoning/flavorful is also amazing. The rack of lamb has a slight smoky taste to eat. Terrible Service - Very Disappointing Experience We walked into the restaurant and asked for a table for three. The server informed us that the wait time would be about 1 hour and 15 minutes, with a table expected to be ready around 8:15 or 8:30 PM. Since it was Presidents' Day and most restaurants in town were busy, we decided to put our name on the waiting list. It was cold outside, so we stood in the corner of the restaurant, making sure not to block the entrance. After waiting for 45 minutes, a server approached us and asked, "What do you need?" We told her we were waiting for our table, and she responded, "Waiting for what?" When we clarified, she then said she couldn't guarantee we would get a table that night because there were still five parties ahead of us. However, we had just seen three tables open up, meaning at least three more groups could be seated. At that point, it was 8 PM, and the restaurant was open until 11 PM. If they weren't able to seat us, they should have told us from the start instead of making us wait for nothing. We wasted 45 minutes and missed the chance to find another place for dinner. The whole experience felt like they just wanted to get rid of us. When we finally walked out into the cold, still hungry and frustrated, the server didn't even say bye to us. read more

We loved our food at the Sawtooth Club. We recommend having a reservation because it is popular and if you don't have one, the hostess might act annoyed (but she did seat us). Our server, Rick, was phenomenal though. He was charming, funny, and made great recommendations. We started with the seared ahi tuna appetizer. It was delectable and cooked perfectly- great flavor and fresh. We also liked the accompanying sauce- it didn't have a lot of flavor, but added just enough spice with the wasabi to make a nice complement to the fish. I had the rib-eye, my partner had the rack of lamb, and my daughter had the Idaho trout. Everything we had was flavorful and cooked to order. The rib-eye almost melted in my mouth and was seasoned perfectly. The trout incredible and maybe the best local trout we have ever had. The lamb was tender and the red wine and mint sauces complimented it perfectly. All of the entrees were a good portion and we all left satisfied but not stuffed. The sides were okay- the snap peas needed the hard pieces removed because it cut the side of my mouth, so I stopped eating them and just focused on my rib-eye steak. The Yukon gold mashed potatoes were delicious, but everything paled in comparison to the main dishes. We highly recommend this place if you are in Ketchum! read more

This was a delicious dining choice. We wanted someplace for a nice birthday dinner and we found it at the Sawtooth Club. The first floor is a bar/pub area but upstairs is a dining room area for a more comfortable dining experience. The menu has a nice mix of meats, fish and pasta dishes plus sandwiches and salads for lighter fare. We started out with some huckleberry lemonade cocktails which were so refreshing. Then we ordered the rack of lamb and the chicken Senegalese. Both dishes were a beautiful presentation as you can see in the photo but they were also delicious. The lamb came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. It was cooked perfectly and paired with Yukon mashed potatoes. The chicken Senegalese was covered in a curry sauce that was so delicious I wanted to order another side of the sauce. Paired with rice pilaf this dish was filling, flavorful and fantastic. Cara was our server and hats off to her. She provided excellent recommendations for dinner and the service was spot on. Since we were celebrating a birthday Cara helped top off our evening with the mixed berry cobbler for dessert. Since it's fruit we figured it was a health food. I think this was my favorite meal out of my week long stay in Ketchum for business and pleasure. My husband and I had a reservation on Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated upstairs which was great. The bar area is a fun vibe, upstairs is quieter. We ordered a couple drinks and I decided to have the Idaho pork chop special and my husband ordered the New Orleans style shell fish pasta. My pork chop was amazing!! It came with home made apple sauce, snap peas and I chose fries as the side. I demolished everything. My husband LOVED his pasta. He also demolished everything. We then decided to order the New York cheesecake. It was good - but the real winner here was the entree. We also tried the western old fashioned with the cinnamon sugar rim - delicious! On my last night in Ketchum I figured I would give the Sawtooth Club a try, especially since I got there during Happy Hour. Sawtooth is a cool place with a bar on the downstairs and the dining room on the upstairs. The decor is casual but still classy, dark and comfortable. I ended up at the bar and got very nice service from the bartender. The menu is good with a nice variety. I ended up ordering the Seared Ahi Tuna App and the Shrimp Tacos. The Tuna came out beautifully presented with a large portion of the high quality fresh fish lightly seared. The ginger soy wasabi aioli was a major disappointment with the wasabi being overpowering and no hint of ginger or soy flavors which would have done a better job of complimenting the tuna. The Tacos were also a nice portion, however the flavors did not impress, with the small shrimp being overpowered by the shredded cabbage and lacking any of the promised cilantro and red onions. The chips and salsa were clearly not house made, instead they were just ordinary chips and a very mild salsa. Overall the food used quality raw ingredients, it just seemed that there was a lack of execution in the kitchen to enhance the flavors and execute the dishes to the true potential. I was looking forward to eating at the Sawtooth Club, but ended up a bit disappointed in the food, nothing was bad, but it could have been so much better. read more

The food was excellent. My wife and I shared a salad & a rib eye steak. Steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The best part of our experience was Laura, our server. She guided us through the menu quickly and efficiently and had some nice conversation. She was always there to check on us even with a quick eye contact.
