Other food items: Fish and chips - I didn't try it but my bf said it was good Tavern Turkey. If you're looking for a wholesome sandwich that sounds just like how it was described on the menu. Service was excellent, food was good except you can tell they need to change the fryer oil as the fish and chips were so greasy, dark dirty batter on the fish and the fries were not good. This restaurant is fairly close to the ski area, which makes it convenient. We sat upstairs on the porch and looked out at the beautiful mountain view. Our server informed us we could adapt any menu item as we wanted, and they would accommodate without judgment. Good deal! I went with a salad with a veggie burger. My husband had the habanero bacon jam cheeseburger, as recommended by our server. He thought it had a lot of flavor and wasn't too spicy. We found everyone to be laid back. Great tavern for lunch or dinner with the family. Quick good food with a nice beer list. Always enjoy my main, but the thing that keeps me coming back are the wings. Amazing wings. Fantastic chicken and waffles, just the right amount of Vermont sweet and fried juicy chicken breast. Habanero bacon jam cheeseburger was juicy and good portion. Waited an hour and ten minutes for a $14 quesadilla (see photo). Waiter was nice but overwhelmed- had to ask twice for silverware and once for water. Took ten minutes to order first round. About 30 minutes after our simple order (3 quesadilla appetizers and a burrito) we told the server we had to leave in about half an hour. He was graceful and said no problem. Another half an hour went by. Talked to the manager who offered me some sort of fake money $5 voucher and asked me if I have ever managed a restaurant. I have not but here are a few common suggestions- *If you provide almost no service offer the meal for free or a free dessert. *For a night before a holiday when you know it will be crowded bring in more staff. *If you can't find the staff limit how many tables you seat. *Long term- pay your people more and you will have more staff. *Basically- Don't be greedy. Sitting here in reverance of the absolute Vermonster of a burger I just devoured. Pound and a half of pure bliss. 9.7 best burger I have ever had, and I make, alot of burgers. I would give the chef a NYE kiss if he was here. Atmosphere of the restaurant was also amazing. I kid you not, I feel like god soared down from the heavens, took both of my hands, and ascended me slowly through every bite of that beautiful beef and brioche until I reached Nirvana. Truth be told, we chose this restaurant solely because there is a fast EV charger in their parking lot, and we needed to find a place where we could grab a bite while the Hyundai was charging. But we lucked out!! We arrived a couple of minutes before 5 PM, just enough time to take advantage of the half price Brussels sprouts special and $10 off a serving of buffalo wings, plus $1 off bartender's choice of beer. The Brussels sprouts were the best I have ever had - the chef made the inspired choice of drizzling the perfectly roasted sprouts with Thai sauce, a match made in heaven! After the apps, we shared a pulled pork burrito, which was good, but nothing to rave about. The barkeep was alone serving a crowd but was amazingly organized and efficient. He always noticed right away when new people arrived, when you needed your drink refilled, and when you were getting ready to leave. I came here in August and loved sitting outside upstairs with the beautiful mountain breeze and enjoying a few juicy burger, but there's nothing I love more than happy hour, friends, and some spicy hot wings for .50 cents! These wings were hot! And crispy, the way to go. Never received such horrible service in my life. The owner (Paul) called me stupid. Was there Saturday night with a girlfriend for dinner & a beer. We sat at the bar, had our food, two beers each, and three more friends were going to join us, which we didn't know at the start of our meal. It was a last minute decision for our friends. When we found out, we immediately told the bartender 3 more were coming & asked if we could reserve 3 seats at the bar since they were five minutes up the road at the very most & she said no since there were no reservations. The bar at that point was wide open all around us. Paul was doing all of the strategically planned out seating from the doorway. So he put the next two guests next to me. But not right next to me because of covid... one bar stool was empty between us with a nine inch orange cone on top of it. Social distancing is important. So that leaves four seats next to my friend... and we have three coming.. and we would need five seats... because of the nine inch orange cone rule... We then have a dilemma. We can't all sit together. At the time, there was a woman sitting at the bar so the two guys next to me couldn't shift down. I asked the guys how they were doing, etc. casualties. I asked them how they felt about covid, social distancing, etc. they said they are tired of it, they don't care, they aren't even from vermont, etc. I asked them if their party of 2 and my party of 5 could become a party of 7 and the cone disappears since they couldn't just shift down. They couldn't have cared less and they didn't even skip a beat and said absolutely. I politely went up to Paul and asked him what I just explained. At first he told me "that's illegal" and talking to the other guests at the bar was illegal. He also explained "You don't know where they've been, who they've been around, what they've touched". I first informed him it's definitely not illegal, and I asked him why that can't happen since we already talked and we're all friends now.. bar buddies. We got to know each other and we'll probably keep talking and maybe we'll even hang out after we leave the bar- so we'll be touching all of the same stuff anyway... and that's when Paul looked at me... and said.. "You're stupid." Unfortunately, my bad experience didn't stop there. He sat my friends at the table behind my friend and I.. didn't offer to put two tables together for us (which there was two tables to put together for us...) He was working, constantly walking behind my friend and I and then we heard him say "good Lord, will you guys just LEAVE" .... The bartender asked us if we wanted another beer and at that point we told her we didn't feel welcome and we were leaving. She apologized on his behalf, which was nice, however, doesn't make his actions anywhere near correct. There are ways to handle things. And that was NOT it. Please let me add- if Paul really cared about social distancing.. he wouldn't have just a stool between people. Last time I checked, the CDC is saying 6 feet between adults. The width of a bar stool is maybe 3. Never. Again. read more

Another winner in the Killington Ski area. We visited this past Monday after a full day of skiing and this place was just what we needed. Laid back, with attentive service, solid local craft beers and a happy hour! I felt like a real touron when I mentioned the 1/2 priced wings with a Yelp check in, yet they offer these during the happy hour, so I am not very special :) Standard buffalo wings for the special and they were nice size, crisp and super flavorful. We took advantage of their brew and brat special for Monday, so it was a Conehead IPA from Zero Gravity and a brat to change your life. Simple, yet so perfect. Served on a toasted pretzel roll and it was so tender with the perfect mustard (maple? honey?) to go along with it. I'm salivating just thinking about it once again. Service was super quick and we were out of there before the rush hit the place. Even on the weekdays, this place is a destination for visitors and of course locals. What a great place! read more

4/28/2022. Great little pub! This is one of the very few places on the mountain, that I dont think my wife and I have been to, but a gift card has now added a new spot in the rotation. So, we basically stopped in, and check it out, as we had a gift card that we won. Very pleased that we did. The atmosphere , our apps, service, and view was all great. We are looking forward to our next visit, to try something else on the menu. By the way, their onion rings, and wings are great ! read more
