Seeing the train plow feature in front was cool (had never seen that before). We sat by the window and watched the snow falling in the parking lot, which was quite idyllic. We started with the Caesar salad and clam chowder. Both came out quickly. We got the prime rib for our main, which was the biggest disappointment of the dinner. Dropped by after a visit to Killington. This would be a good place to stop by if you have done some skiing and need a filing meal and a drink. The place is a little dark inside but it's got plenty of space. For the food, it was ok. I ordered the fish and it was a little tough and could have used a little more spice. My husband liked his pasta. He did remove the mussels that come with it so can't comment on those. Service was quick so that was apperciated. read more

We were there on the Saturday night of a holiday weekend and our server was also the hostess and managing the waitlist and at least two tables - and she still managed to answer our questions, provide great service, and be super friendly. Casey's is back on our list of preferred restaurants at Killington. It happened when the new owners took over in 2024 (I think it was). Staff is very friendly and work hard to please. Especially the bartender, Pam. She goes nonstop and can still chat while making cocktails or pulling draft beer. We enjoy sitting at the bar if we luck out finding a seat. We chat with other patrons and throw quarters at "Goofy" to make the train go. Our last meal was ok. My partner had a chicken (not blackened) Caesar salad and really enjoyed it. On the other hand, I tried the chicken stir fry which was not so good. It was super salty, too much sauce, not enough chicken, and not enough rice. We will return for sure. read more

Great service. Grungy pub atmosphere. Food out of 3 orders the Ahi Tuna was very good, fresh and done/served nicely. I had the stuffed haddock. Wondered how they were going to stuff it, so to speak, and it was basically a seafood melange on top with what seemed to be panko on top of that. My son got a heaping servings of linguine and a nice sized piece of Chicken Parm. It was just ok. Sauce was more chunky tomatoes versus a "gravy" or "sauce". They also don't pound the chicken flatter than you handle a regular breast so there were overdone pieces on the thin end and juicier on the thicker side. We read this was "the best food in VT...". While the helpings were good and service good I'd say it was more of an Applebees or Olive Garden caliber. Also both myself and my wife had a tremendous thirst about an hour later... not accusing but suggesting there may be some MSG flying around that kitchen. Would I go back... yes if there wasn't any other choice, but there is a lot on that Killington Road with multiple choices. read more

Family favorite whenever we ski Killington. Great food at a reasonable price and HUGE portions. All of the meals we've had are top notch. The ribs are amazing and the wings are addictive. Salads, burgers, pasta dishes are all worth the money. Great service and the Vermont local feel you come to K-Town for. We met up some local friends here the other night, and when you walk inside, you immediately feel enveloped into a warm embrace from the freezing cold. It's so sweet and charmingly cozy. There's a solid beer menu and some cocktails (the "special" G&T is just a regular one with some whole spices thrown in for good effect). We skipped apps and just got mains of French onion soup and the lamb burger. Honestly, both were pretty good. The broth on the soup was rich but not heavy and the "cheese lid" was the ideal balance of oozy and crusty. The lamb burger was Greek-themed and while it was nothing special, there was a good amount of meat and we liked the fries. Honestly, the only reason that we're giving this place three stars instead of four is because of the "award-winning" mac-n-cheese. We got it for our daughter and it was beyond bland (zero salt or anything) and it was cold. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she brought another one out and it was STILL cold. That's INSANE. Like, we weren't expecting *actual* award-winning mac-n-cheese, but we were expecting something better than a Kraft box, and in this situation, we would have preferred the latter that's how bad it was. "Award-winning" LOL! (They did end up comp-ing it.) We had a very sweet woman as our server, who was beyond patient and helpful with our large kid-filled party, but it also seemed like they were understaffed because we couldn't find her a few times when we needed her. I've always liked this place but I really believe it has gotten better over the last few years. Last night we were greeted by staff very friendly served right away. We had the Bavarian pretzel appetizers and nachos. We love them my 10-year-old grandson of course loves the train that goes around the bar. We had a margarita from the bar, which was excellent for the main courses. One of us had the filet mignon cooked, medium perfect excellent cut of meat as well as the strip steaks grandson had a huge portion of mac & cheese. As soon as we walked in, I knew it was going to be great. Christmas lights hanging everywhere, staff dressed in gorgeous Christmas sweaters and Mariah Carey's song playing. We sat at the bar. We were greeted by Emily. Emily is amazing. She was pouring drinks, taking orders and answering phones. She did it all with a smile. I was most impressed with her knowledge of making gorgeous cocktails. She's legit. We only ordered appetizers. The wings were great. I asked for a side of the blueberry bourbon bbq sauce. Great to see Casey's Caboose open again under new ownership. The new owners cleaned up the place nicely and brightened up the lighting in some of the dimmer lit spaces like the hall and restroom area. The bar area was widened a bit and a couple high top tables were added, this is a nice update as it provides much needed space in the bar. The train in the bar area is operational and Goofy still guards the on switch. Casey's was my go to spot for as long as I can remember for happy hour after a day on the slopes, after several years of a closed Caboose it only took me 2 quarters to get Goofy to fire up the train :) Built around an 1876 railroad caboose and a 1910 railroad snowplow, Casey's Caboose was named after Jonathan Luther "John" "Casey" Jones the American railroad engineer who died in April 1900 saving the passengers on his train. His mother, Mrs Jones is said to have lived near Killington in her youth. Casey's Caboose has a nice selection of beers on tap as well as bottled and canned beers, red and white wine, and a nice selection of cocktails are also available. Looking for something different, try a Casey's Plowcar Smash during your visit, it is a specialty cocktail with Bacardi rum, tropical juice, cream of coconut and 151 rum. If you are a Gin drinker, the new Casey's Caboose has a large selection of gin, check the board for details on their Gin specials. The new and improved Casey's has an outstanding menu, the food is freshly made and beautifully presented. They offer a wide range of items, from comfort foods with several mac 'n cheese options, a nice assortment of gourmet burgers to lighter fare if you are looking for something smaller. We were turned down at Garlic, or rather told we would need to wait more than 30 mins to be seated. No thanks! We came here purely by coincidence and had a great meal. For expectations management: This is what it promises - really good bar food - but higher quality than what one would have at a regular bar. We had freshly fried calamari with peppers and a homemade ketchup type dipping sauce, a simple mixed salad with blue cheese sauce (also homemade I suspect), excellent fish and chips with crispy fries, plus a very nice homemade veggie burger (with black beans in it), jalapeños and guacamole as an extra touch. The menu looked good, also the pasta dishes. We were greeted but a friendly bartender and sat outside. If you want to try other foods, have it it but DO NOT GET THE BURGERS. Nachos (4/5) they weren't the best nachos I've ever had but it was pretty decent. I guess I didn't enjoy it because of the olives but it had more flavor than anything else. Burgers (1/5) this was probably the worst burger I've ever had. The patty did not have any flavor. NO FLAVOR AT ALL. I had to add a little salt to my burger. Then I poured some A1 sauce on it. It was kinda dry but not super dry. We came here twice for dinner while staying at the nearby Killington resort. It was the only restaurant in the area we could find that takes reservations (Resy) and for some reason it was not as crowded as the others nearby though we thought the food and service was very good. They are known for their burgers and mac and cheese. Our small group had burgers, salads and prime rib, and all were very good--nothing fancy but hearty and satisfying. Service was good and the food came out promptly, which is what you want after a long day of mountain biking. We even got to sit upstairs in the caboose the second night and it was fun to see how expertly the server handled the high tables. read more
