Very cool show (Derik Stroup ) last Thursday and we are back for more laughs this Thursday, Tonight, whatever .... You know ? We love coming here for weeknight shows because we are in the hospitality biz and can't do weekend entertainment ourselves. The staff here is so very cool , present but never pushy . The bartender does people right . The drink prices are regular bar prices or sometimes better ! Great value . They also allow food to count toward the two item minimum purchase. Food is pretty decent for a comedy show. Lots of sandwiches chips and salsa nachos pretzels Nate Dogg hotdog pretzel, dog hummus plate pretty good selection of drinks as well like alcoholic drinks. This is a spot if you're anywhere near there's not much around this area when it comes to big places, so it's pretty decent size check it out. read more

Cool club! Great show! Entertainers mingled with guests after the show which was so down to earth and fun. While we were there, we got snacks and drinks and enjoyed some good comedy! Nancy Norton was headlining the night we went. We had seen her on YouTube and got lucky she was performing the night we were in town. The club itself could use a facelift, but no real complaints. The only other club I have to compare it to is Comedy Mothership in ATX. Hard to compete with that when it comes to atmosphere/ambiance. But I will say I had more fun at this show than I did at either show I've seen at Mothership. read more

Loonees is a staple in our lives and we just love it here! It kind of reminds me the bar Cheers, if cheers were a comedy club. Comfortable, casual, and creates a community for people that like to cut loose and enjoy a good hearty laugh after a long week. Service is always fantastic! Tracy in particular is a sweetheart and has a great attention to detail! But we've had nothing but great service from everyone here. The comedy is always good and the variety of comics is impressive. I know it probably takes a lot of time and effort to source great talent to our 'little' city, but Loonees always seems to deliver a great show in an intimate and welcoming setting. In the food and drink front, the pina colada or daiquiri are yummy, beer is reliable and we quite like the pizza nachos and hummus plate!! read more

This is cool place for a night out. We attended a Friday night show featuring Paul Hooper. The opening guest were hilarious. The drinks aren't strong at all, and the waitress will ask if you want to make them a double but makes it pretty expensive. Food was decent too, we got a pizza. The best comedy club in Colorado Springs. Okay, the competition is not that fierce. But, I stand by this statement. It had been a few years since my last visit, and in some ways little had changed. There is still plenty of parking, friendly staff throughout, and reasonable pricing. The performance area has been spruced up fairly recently, and fresh paint is a nice touch. The venue is a typical comedy club with chairs and tables. You don't feel crowded in. It's a smaller venue so not really a bad seat in the house. Typical overpriced bar food like $4 for a hotdog or nacho's like you would get at a ballfield or movie theater, and $7.50 for a quesadilla or some of the sandwiches. The drinks they offered were all on the very sweet side if you like your drinks sweet, but you can probably order basic stuff, like rum and coke too, priced in the $5-$8 range for beer or the mixed concoctions. It is a two item minimum, but the tickets to get in are only $10. It's about what I would think you would expect. Nothing more nothing less. I also hear they offer Groupon's so be sure to check that out before going! read more

I had never been to a comedy show before and didn't really know what to expect. Honestly I had low expectations going in but I was pleasantly surprised. The comedians that performed were all super funny and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I laughed until my tummy hurt! They serve a variety of food and drinks which complemented the night really well. My in-laws were visiting and we thought it would be great to take them to a comedy show, All was great until our waitress brought my husband (who just hit one year of sobriety) a refill for his non alcoholic Heineken 00, my husband took one sip and broke out in sweats and nearly tears when he realized it was NOT a NON ALCOHOLIC. We brought it to her attention and she just said "well I wasn't the one who grabbed it, the bartender did" she took them and said she would come back with the non alcoholic beers. He didn't get his beer for nearly 30 minutes and it wasn't even fully cold. As a server myself it is my job to double check these types of things and make sure that my guests are being properly cared for, not make excuses.. it killed the vibe of our night and was hard to enjoy the show we paid $109 to be at. When she brought the bill she said she took off our $6 chips and salsa and gave a half ass "sorry bout that." Honestly beyond pissed. My husband has busted his ass to stay sober to be a better father and husband and our waitress was careless and took that from him. read more

I love Loonees Comedy Club. I will be going for my 3rd time since moving to Colorado and I have only been to my friend Mark Briton's shows but I will tell you. Loonees has some of the best staff and it is a clean intimate club and it's fun to go to. The 2 items minimum is fair and remember proceeds go to the comedians who perform and prices are very reasonable and tickets are cheap so it's a good way to spend less and get more out of a night out. Loonees has the bones of a great comedy club. Decent location, spacious but sufficiently intimate performance space, shout out to the chips and queso, reasonably priced food and beverages, friendly and efficient staff, adequate parking, support for up and coming comics and nationally known headliners. Just add comedy. And THAT is where it can go south quickly on an individual basis. Just ask opener Jay LaFarr and Comedy Central Central headliner John Brown after last night's performance. Finding the Colorado Springs comedy sweet spot ain't easy. But they managed to pull it off and kept us laughing from start to finish with very different styles. So, when I give it 5 stars it's for the bones and my experience last night. First time there. Like playing the stock market, a return isn't guaranteed. (Kudo's to Loonee's regular MC and a guy who followed him working on his comedy chops, I couldn't find their names but they kept the show moving along.) read more

I've been to a few comedy clubs throughout the US and this is definitely the most fun. Extremely well organized, VERY friendly servers (some are also comics for certain days!), and VERY cheap ticket prices. I've been going pretty much every Thursday and Saturday since I moved to the area (another f**kin' transplant, I know, I know) a month ago and EVERY show has made me laugh for pretty much the entire time. Definitely have a blast every time I go, and I usually go solo. (So that *should* say something.) The server (and comedian) Tracy is extremely friendly and never forgets about my solo ass during the show, which is great. (Usually sort of an issue when I go *anywhere* solo). Seriously, can't say enough great things about this place. *Shows are usually Thursday (7pm), Friday (730pm & 930pm), and Saturday (730pm & 930pm.) Occasionally, they do open mics (also hilarious and a great time) on Wednesdays, show starting @730pm. TL;DR -Well organized -Lots of shows and a couple of different showtimes on the weekend -Great comics -Cheap ticket prices -Cheap food, cheap (and strong) drinks -Servers are very friendly -Very clean **NOTE** There *is* a two ****item**** minimum inside the show room, but it isn't strictly for drinks. You can also use it to buy food, sodas, etc. Please do not bitch about a measly two item minimum. Again, not only are the prices *very* cheap, but the proceeds go directly to the comedians you're viewing. 10/10 read more

I'm not sure why all the loonies that have wrote reviews are bickering. I've been here a couple times now and I like it. Yes, it's in an old side of town. Yes, there is a two item minimum. Yes, the tables are small. The rookies that are complaining have never been to another comedy club to see that they ALL have small tables and have DRINK minimums. Loonees only requires two of any item. You can have a drink (alcoholic or non) and a food item and that could count as your two. This goes without mentioning that all their items are cheap and so is their admission. It's definitely worth checking out and yes, their Groupon did mention there was a two item minimum. Even if it didn't, wouldn't you research the place you're going anyway? Or is that just me? read more

The comedians were pretty funny tonight. Sam Adams from Denver, CO was the main comedian tonight, and the other opening acts were just as funny. When you enter the venue you walk straight into the bar. Off to the left of the bar there is a hallway the opens up to the comedy room. The place is kinda small, but there is plenty of seating and small cocktail tables. The food is reasonably priced unlike other comedy clubs, but the food was o-k. The venue needs some renovation because the place looks pretty dive-y. They could probably get some bigger tables, then customers could order more food items. The tables are so small. Also, the bathrooms are kind of grimy and when there are too many people in the bathroom flushing toilets (I believe there was a total of 3-4 stalls) the water doesn't work! So everyone's pee is floating in the toilets. Other than that, customer service is great, drinks are good and they have some funny guest comedians. read more

Having decided to go on an impulse and with no expectations or history of Loonees, we went for it. Both acts plus the local opener all had great sets that had us laughing out a$$es off. The venue itself has history and character with many portraits of past acts in the lobby and around the bathrooms. With that history comes an odd smell like an older movie theater popcorn smell mixed with something else, maybe they do serve popcorn (we only had sodas). The auditorium is large enough with tables and chairs everywhere to get a spot to see the stage and hear. For the price and central location, this spot is a great, reasonable and alternative night out. Plus the skill of open mic is such an art to enjoy in person. read more

I first came here when a friend won tickets and loved it! Have been back probably half a dozen times since then. It's a great spot with a range of comics. I don't love all of them but they have enough that are quite good to make it worth it. Don't go here for the food but the drinks are good and the servers are very efficient. (If you're hungry after the show, drive down to El Super Taco, it's not far.) I can say the one thing about this place is that they have a lot of local comics who perform frequently, so if you come back really often you might hear the same jokes from those local comics. One guy we've seen three times and it's always very similar. Definitely check out who they have on their website performing because sometimes they get some pretty cool people to come to town. Also, we've only done the 7:30 show once and it was like the comics treated it as a warm-up, some of them were pretty terrible but we knew people who went to the 9:30 show and loved it. Made the trip down to the Springs to see a friend who was performing. Loonees is not in a great area, but there's plenty of parking and it's pretty nice inside. The tables are spread out just enough that you don't feel like you're sitting on top of your neighbor. The wait staff was very nice and kept the Guinness flowing for me. And, maybe it's the Denver in me, but I didn't think the prices were bad. My friend was hilarious! I'm so glad I went. I wasn't as thrilled by the headliner, but all in all it was a good night. read more

Loonees has been the only dedicated venue for comedy in Colorado Springs for longer than I can remember - so, at least 20 years. Since then, they have had a couple of facelifts - their current one being the loveliest thus far. I can remember many a show seen in crowded darkness with sticky floors, lol. As a small comedy venue in a city left off most tour rosters, there isn't a lot of money to be made off of anything except selling marked up menu items - hence the 2 item minimum. They have a penchant for scoring seriously amazing comedians who don't get enough appreciation - Kevin Farley and David Nickerson were the last two shows Hubby and I saw and we loved them both. As a local small business that is trying to stay alive in an extremely difficult market, don't hesitate to support these determined and hopeful people. For the price of dinner and a movie, you can have drinks, snacks, and a show - one that will inspire you to think and laugh and enjoy time with other people. Like any human endeavor this one has its' shortcomings (do we really want to talk about the inconsistent food, determined but amateur wait staff, or outdated restrooms? Meh, not really) - but its goal and vision are entirely worth celebrating and supporting! read more

One of my co-workers invited me to Loonees Comedy Corner on a Friday night. I didn't have anything going on and have been meaning to come here for a few years...just didn't have the opportunity. Drove by Pho Viet and wolfed down a medium size bowl of Pho Tai Chin and headed over...gorged. Entry fee was 10 bucks and there's also a 2 item minimum...I ended up getting a cup of coffee and cheesecake as none of the fried menu items were appealing to me. For some reason, they like to cram people all around a tiny little table with the chairs all next to each other. I hate that shiet since the dude behind me was straddling my chair...dammit...I was in the man's crotch! Puking in my mouth! The show itself always depends on the comedian...our comedians tonight were awesome...very funny and a great bargain at 10 bucks. My wife received an email about a Valentine's Day show at loonies that was to include a dessert buffet for an extra $5. We decided to check it out. The main comedian for the evening was this gal named Gretchen Hess from Denver, and she was howlingly funny! We get to loonies maybe 2-3 times a year and it's always a welcome change from the typical night out on the town. The spread they had laid out with the desserts was great! Many different little desserts, cakes, cookies, fresh bananas and strawberries, complete with a chocolate fountain! For the additional $5 it was well worth it. We have already decided to watch for the Valentine's Day promotion next year. Hope they do it again...for all we know it's been going on for years.
