Food was bad! All gristle steak! Service was slow. Food was cold! I can say I will never be back!

    Fried Icecream

The service was fun, Mia really helped for being here for the first time. Many Habanero Ceviche was excellent and so were the fajitas. Fried ice cream at the end was perfect. I cook a lot and ceviche was really good.

So, I debated wether I should post a review regarding this because it's not specifically to their food, but their customer service. I went in today at noon for lunch because I work in the area. I went in and wanted to try their chicharonnes and guacamole. Online the chicharonnes were $6 and the guacamole was $4. When I went in with my co-workers we all already knew what we wanted. I noticed on their actual menu the price for the guacamole was $7. I figured it was because maybe the portions were different sizes. So I asked the server at the bar, that's were our order was being taken, if it was because there was a size difference that that's why the prices were different from the menu and the online menu, I showed her my phone, and she said "No it's $7" nothing more, nothing less. Now mind you, I already had in my head that I was going to get that so it wasn't the price that deterred me, it was the customer service. A simple clarification of the prices deferential would've sufficed, but nothing was clarified or even explained. So I ordered food for my co-worker that stayed behind in the office and that was all. Was disappointed in the customer service. We (3) were the only people in the restaurant. We all ordered to go, so the chips that were going to be offered to us got taken back to the back, that was how the experience started. I hope that it was just a mishap.

I stopped by here after learning that Rocky Mountain beignets new location next-door is not serving meals yet. I always love Azteca Urbana, so it was not disappointing. I was greeted and seated immediately. While nibbling on the complementary chips and salsa, I perused the menu. I ordered the Maracuya margarita, the Aguacate Relleno with steak, and a pastor taco. The margarita was delicious, slightly spicy and tasting of passionfruit. When it arrived, the stuffed avocado was not quite what I expected. It was listed as "Aguacate relleno with steak or shrimp, onions, tomato, spinach, green peppers and melted cheese. Served on a bed of salad and plantain chips." as one can see from the picture, you could not immediately identify the avocado which was hidden under the toppings of steak and tomato and cheese, etc. It was delicious, just not what I think of as a stuffed avocado. The taco Pastor was also very tasty. (The only small negative was that both the taco and the aguacate had pieces of meat that would not be chewed.)

Great tasty tacos. A nice stop with a fun vibe. The Al pastor and carnitas were delish and Ensenada fish taco was decent- tasty but nothing special.

    Strawberry lemonade

Food was amazing. My sister and I tried one of each of their tacos except the shrimp. The carne asada and carnitas were our favorite. Service was amazing! Very relaxing atmosphere. I also had the strawberry lemonade and it was also delicious. Great prices!

Overall, we had a really good experience here. Ashley was an amazing server and our food had tons of flavor. We enjoyed the Mole enchiladas (cheese and chicken), the chili relleno, and the Asada tacos. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice meal in downtown Colorado Springs! Excited to come back and try their margaritas and some more items from the menu.

What's left of all the tacos on the menu lol

It was not. I've been ordering that martini for 27 years. After much discussion, the waitress agreed to bring me three olives. She did not want to take the drink back. We ordered the shrimp skewers and the corn and lobster balls. The shrimp was criminally overdone, basically seafood jerky. Neither my wife nor I could even taste the lobster in the balls, much less see any actual lobster meat in them. Lots and lots of corn, though. Very disappointing experience. The view was amazing, but for the price we paid, the service and food were substandard.

I have to admit that the ambience is really cool; you walk down into a basement to enter the restaurant, which used to be the city morgue, and while that's a little bit creepy, it gives the space a dark, velvety vibe that I think some people would really like. However, for a higher-end establishment, I found the service to be kind of spotty and not quite up to par. My biggest disappointment was the food, as we ordered two entrées to share and found both to be rather disappointing and honestly kind of bad, which was especially frustrating given how expensive they were. While it might have just been the specific dishes we chose, the combination of high prices, underwhelming food, and inconsistent service means I likely won't be back, even if the unique atmosphere was interesting to see once.
