We were told they served up a great burger. We love walking the trails at Lopez lake Fishtails bar and grill did not disappoint. Great views, nice cozy inside w plenty of seating inside and outdoor seating. Hot piping crunchy fish and chips. Delicious burger.. next time I'll ask to add cheese and more coleslaw on my burger. I give them a five because, who knew they serve some good eats? Now we know.

Nice marina storefront where you can rent a pontoon, motorboat or lake toy.. We were looking to rent a pontoon with an upper deck to tour Lopez Lake.. Our plan was to boat around the lake and drop anchor along one of their coves and swim a bit. We chose the 24" Deluxe Patio Boat. We only booked for 2 hours because we just wanted to check out the lake on a hot day...I think that's the perfect time if you're just visiting for the afternoon.. The pontoon was very easy to drive, although it wasn't that fast.. - easy paperwork - easy instruction - easy final checkout

Decent little store. I ate at their Fishtails Bar and Grill a couple of times while I was camping there. They were a little understaffed but very friendly. The bar has a decent beer selection and the food isn't bad. Considering they have a monopoly the prices aren't bad. Nice place to visit while you're at the lake.

This place is a rip off. We rented a pontoon for eight hours. We were anchored out by the dock to fish and when we tried to pull up the anchor, it was stuck. We tried to dive down to move it. One of the deckhands tried to dive down to remove it but was also unable to do so. He told us to tie the rope of the anchor to a bouey so that they could locate the anchor later. He told us the anchor was stuck under the chain holding the dock. I have now been charged $150 for a "lost anchor". I spoke to the manager Summer and explained the situation. She informed me that it did not matter that the anchor was stuck under the dock chain, that I was responsible for this anchor. Even though they told us that fishing by the dock was good area, but no mention of a chain and possibility of anchors getting stuck under the chain. She told me if the anchor is retrieved I will be refunded my $150. She told me $150 was how much to replace their pos anchor and rope. What a joke! I will never frequent this run down shoddy place ever again. Total rip off! I'm not done yet with this place stealing my money

You guys are lucky to have her and she can't be a day over 30 so if you want to keep her til she's 35 and beyond, don't be cheap when the time for raises or bonuses comes around! I don't often write reviews and I definitely don't make sure I post them in multiple places but after our family stay at the Lake Naciamento Resort, not only am I doing both,I'll be singing their praises to anyone who will listen for a long time. I was coming to the area to work over the weekend but we made a last minute decision to bring the family and make a little vacation out of it. We must have called a million times with a million different questions and honestly I felt so unorganized and like a pain in the (you know what) but the staff, especially GM Layla Decker, made us feel like family and I commend them all for having the patience of a 1,000 saints. By the time we arrived we felt like we already knew Layla and her staff thanks to a million phone calls. I cannot begin to say just how helpful they were. Not only did they answer all our questions and calls but they went above and beyond and called me to advise how the foggy weather could affect my early morning departures for work as I'm unfamiliar with the resort. To say we are sad to leave after such a wonderful experience is the understatement of the year. It was such a great feeling leaving for work knowing my family was there in such wonderful and helpful hands while I was away. Thank you, Lake Naciamento, Resort! We'll be back!!! P.S. there are many amazing things to say about the resort itself and the area but we were blown away by the staff and their hospitality so I focused on that for this review.

You could go to it from the main road which takes you through the country side. Also wineries along the way which we found out. Along the whole stretch of the drive, there is no parking along the highway. Sucks that you can't get out for a picture of the lake. We finally made it to the entrance which there's a fee to get in. We literally just wanted to see the lake and get a pic. Give or take, 5 minutes or so. Spoke with the entrance guards, it was 12.00 per vehicle and as we had our dog with us, that would be another fee for pets. Instead, we just opted out to leave. Honestly, kind of sucks that you can't check it out without having to pay to get in. Not only that, they do offer camping which the camp site wasn't that far. Hiking trails as well as a boat ramp. The parking area when you enter is where the check in and customer service are. I believe there's a public restroom as well. We ended just getting out and stopping right at the gate to take a quick picture of the lake. From what we could see, there was people fishing right along the base. Curious to know if you could just leave your car at the lot and walk down to the water which was a like couple min walk when we left. Or maybe even that, you still have to pay a fee. Regardless, it was somewhat beautiful from what we could see off the road. Along the whole drive in till the entrance, no stopping or parking along the road.

And like alot of buisness when they start focusing on straight profit they seriously suffer in any areas that concern the comfort or safety of its guests but today i have seen it all. We have bears here at lopez and as a result all the trash bins have to be bear safe so they are not attracting the bears directly into the areas of the campers. Well in an attempt to save a couple of dollars, as in the trash truck driver having to get out and unlatching each dumpster before dumping it into his truck, it would add a minute to each bin in the park he has to empty. I dont know the exact number but i would estimate 60 bins here so thats 1 hour of extra driver time needed to get through the park. So you would gather that removing the bear safety latches would save 1 hour a week, 30$...... thats is what the publics safety is worth to the county of San Luis Obispo. On top ofvthat they used to have an employee patrolling the park every couple hours making sure the rules were bei g followed, nothing dangerous was going on ect. I hate to say that is no longer the case, despite all their prices going up exponentially year by year their employee count has dropped drastically. Its gotten so bad that ive been here 24 hours now and havent seen 1 truck on patrol. Last night bears were raiding the trash cans, dogs were barking all night long, and people were partying well into the next day with nobody telling them some people actually enjoy their sleep. Its a sad day in america when this type of behavior is now become the new standard and money is now all that matters, not even the customers safety. Year by year the deaths on the lake here keep going up with this year so far being the most ever and we are barely a couple weeks into summer. As a local resident i would tell you, if youve come to party, get wasted, fight bears and dance with death then this is your place but bring a ton of money cuz your gonna pay substantially for it.

From the start, the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The manager, Layla, personally greeted us at check in and gave us a lot of great advice for the local area (where to eat, rent boats, etc). Whenever we stopped by the main office on our way in or out, she remembered my name and checked in to make sure everything was going great. We didn't run into any real issues, but I could tell they would have diligently solved them. Once we got to the cabin, the breathtaking view of the lake from the cabin and balconies was so serene. There was even a little private beach (only about 20 feet long) which we share with a few of our resort neighbors but was mostly empty. Perfect to dip our feet in the water and jump on the boogie board -- literally 2 minute walk from our balcony. The food options are a little limited, but the remote nature is one of the perks of this place, so I can't complain. What I ate from the local pizza joint and grocery was all tasty. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils so you could definitely take care of yourself with ease. The beds were comfortable and AC strong (both musts for me). Overall I can't really think of anything I'd change. Except maybe staying 2 nights longer.
