BIG SHOUT OUT to the Rangers at Lake Nacimiento on 06/06/2020. Boat ran FANTASTIC all day. We were at Asbury Creek when she went out on us. Seems to be electrical related...ugh. Boat has been solid for 13 years and went down on us twice this season. New injectors, tune up....you all know B.O.A.T (Break out another thousand) LOL - We weren't broke down for more than 5 minutes when a family of three in a new Maroon colored Malibu came up to us (24 hours on new boat- BEAUTIFUL) They asked if we needed a tow and I said unfortunately, yes. I mentioned we are at the main marina and they said they could take us back half way. I said perfect. During this time, I called BOATUS whom we are members with and was told they don't have a resource at the lake, but will continue to try and find someone to help get us the rest of the way..... in the mean time, the anchor rope we were using broke and couldn't have happened at a better time. A Ranger boat was passing us and noticed it. They flipped around and offered to take over and get us back to the marina...SWEET! We offered the first tow $200 and like most of us who have towed others, they turned it down and said pay-it-forward. The rangers took over and got us back safe. It was pretty windy and one jumped on the dock with me to help secure our boat until I could get the trailer. Once secured, we offered the same donation of $200 and were turned down. These two are AWESOME in every way. You have a GREAT TEAM MCPRA at Naci - KEEP IT UP!!! P.S. While at the dock, I noticed an older couple having issues putting their boat on the trailer. I jumped in and secured it for them (Paying - it - forward)

Nice marina with a store located on the water, your able to just pull up to the dock, tie off and walk right inside. We went in here for the first time to look for "water gloves" or "wet gloves" to wear while riding the jet skis because we forgot ours at home. Unfortunatly, they only had very small sizes in the few options they had so we weren't able to purchase any.

This is the place where you check in and you pay your fees

We are now on day two at this lake nacimiento. I felt comfortable with the checking process, they asked for CF number for kayaks which I thought was a little strange. But once we got out onto the lake we were able to play our music loud and obnoxiously and create wakes in the no wake zone. The water was clean and black color which is always a good thing. And I will also add that the Mastercraft X 45 performed at it's peak. The two ladies that check this in at the gate were pleasant, a little sarcastic, but so are we, so it made for an enjoyable check-in experience. I forgot I promised to leave a radio so here it is I came to the part where they check my muscles. After the lady checked my undercarriage Another flotation devices, She argued about whether I was on the lake or not 24 hours ago. She was very short and snappy with me, I believe it is a case of small woman syndrome. She wore her fluorescent vest and was rude. The short squatty woman was rude and condescending. We had kayaks that were moist from yesterday from the lake. She said they were all wet. It was her attitude that bothered me most.

Day use for one car + a dog for $17. Separate parking for day use and camping. Fine sandy beaches for sunning, swimming and floating. Temps were in triple digits in August.

Great time at this lake, so big you even get lost. The water is very choppy while boating. They have camping and live music on Saturday night at the restaurant/bar. They also have movies for the kids and a candy shake with outdoor seating. In the water they have party coves too for adults only.

From the start, the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The manager, Layla, personally greeted us at check in and gave us a lot of great advice for the local area (where to eat, rent boats, etc). Whenever we stopped by the main office on our way in or out, she remembered my name and checked in to make sure everything was going great. We didn't run into any real issues, but I could tell they would have diligently solved them. Once we got to the cabin, the breathtaking view of the lake from the cabin and balconies was so serene. There was even a little private beach (only about 20 feet long) which we share with a few of our resort neighbors but was mostly empty. Perfect to dip our feet in the water and jump on the boogie board -- literally 2 minute walk from our balcony. The food options are a little limited, but the remote nature is one of the perks of this place, so I can't complain. What I ate from the local pizza joint and grocery was all tasty. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils so you could definitely take care of yourself with ease. The beds were comfortable and AC strong (both musts for me). Overall I can't really think of anything I'd change. Except maybe staying 2 nights longer.

This trip was a huge disappointment. When we got to the cottage, there were several things that were missing and of course there's no cell service so you have no way of contacting anyone to tell them about it. The worst part was the general store was closed for two days in a row, which is unacceptable. They should've told every single person entering at the gate that the store would be closed. Who does inventory in the height of the season? We had to drive to the store down the hill outside of the resort to get more ice, etc Since we got cell service down the hill, I called and told them what was missing and I never heard back. To top it off, the boat slip that we were given had another boat in it. Next year when we go to Lake Nacimiento, we will be renting an Airbnb and save ourselves a big headache! The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because they put the fire pit on the grassy area with pavers around it, which was a huge improvement and got a new barbecue so you could cook everything at the one time.

I was seated in the bar area (no choice offered), which was odd as this was mid-week and the place was far from crowded. I was attended quickly and placed an order for a Tanqueray martini. It arrived well mixed. I decided on a porterhouse after confirming with my waiter that the filet would not resemble a t-bone, but be a full filet as a porterhouse should. The steak was cooked properly, salad and sides fresh and delicious. I took off a star because my waiter gave up on me. He had checked in several times (I eat really slow these days and it was a lot of food) and the last time offered to bring me a box. I was ready to order dessert, but after a full ten minutes of an invisible waiter, I went to the hostess and offered to pay. She said she would send my waiter to my table. So, back to my table I went and waited some more. By the time he arrived, I was very unhappy. I had planned on coffee and dessert. But ended up going to the gas station next door and picking up some canned espresso and cream. Walking to my car, was an olfactory assault. If you've ever driven past Harris Ranch and the miles of cows standing under the shade structures in their own feces, you have a mild sense of what I experienced. But this was so much worse. My eyes began to water as I imagined I was walking through the feed lots. The stench of urine and cow crap was obnoxious. Some way to end an otherwise good meal. When we checked in and got to our room, the property felt completely empty. We were the only guests we could see, which made the whole place feel eerie and uncomfortable. We walked around the entire property and saw no one. There were only three cars in the parking lot, including ours and the front desk employee's car, yet we were told they were "fully booked" when we asked about moving to a larger room. The room itself was not great. The bed is extremely hard and squeaks with every movement. On top of that, the AC does not work. We told the front desk before leaving for dinner about the AC and were told someone would come fix it. When we returned, the room was even hotter than before & it felt like walking into a sauna. The windows don't open, so the only way to get air in is by opening the doors, which obviously lets bugs in. The "free wine tasting" was also frustrating. At check-in, we were told that we would get complimentary tastings at the tasting room. When we went to the tasting room, we were told they were "too busy" for tastings and that we would need to buy glasses of wine instead. We didn't want to make a scene, so we ended up purchasing a bottle and a glass, which came out to $85 & we never received the tastings we were told were included with our stay. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. Between the uncomfortable room, broken AC, lack of guests/staff on the property, and being denied the complimentary tasting we were promised, I would not recommend staying here.
