Came to our house about 3 months ago. Job was to cut down some plants. Which he left pieces unfinished. We had a broken sprinkler which she charged us extra for labor and part. The sprinkler since then has been broken just two weeks after he finished the job. The man is extremely rude when he is questioned and won't come back to fix it. We paid him $570 in repairs. I couldn't get a response from our gardeners after they changed settings on our sprinkler system. The yard flooded, and I was worried about the water wasted, so I called Miguel. He came the next day and determined what the problem was right away. He came back promptly and replaced two of the pumps. He then recalibrated the whole system to the times and days I wanted. Lopez Landscaping is a pleasure to work with. I needed three stumps removed from my back yard and Lopez Landscaping was able to fit me in the day after contacting them. I needed a arborist report written to document the health of a mature grove of cypress trees on my property. Miguel was prompt and professional. He came and inspected the property and turned in a beautifully written report which met my needs. I also needed a tree stump removed so I could put in a new redwood fence. All I have to say is this young guy knows his stuff. When you meet him for the first time, you might think he is too young to have his own business and do this work, but you would be wrong. He is very knowledgeable and a complete pro. I wanted to get sod place in my backyard and I've called around trying to find someone to do it without paying an arm and a leg. Well Lopez came in and gave me a very fair quote and then he mentioned that I should get sprinklers installed as well. I didn't want to do it because I thought he was just up selling his services. He told me that new sod has to be watered between 3 to 4 times a day or it would die. I thought he was playing on my fears at first, but he was so concerned that I would blame him if my sod died that he made me a deal I could not pass up so that he could install the sprinklers and he was right. If I did not water that sod 3 times a day, it would be dead right now. The Cali sun is so hot that even with 3 times a day, parts of my lawn started to die and I had to water those areas by hand. What was suppose to take him 2 days actually ended up taking him and his team one. This guy cares about his rep and his job. He wants to do good work and he wants you to be proud of his work. He believes in customer service and for such a young guy to have those kind of values is amazing. You don't see that kind of service anymore so in my book, he is my guy. He even fixed another problem I had with my front yard. It took him 2 minutes to figure out what was wrong with my front sprinklers. I had another guy look at it and he destroyed part of my lawn to try to figure out the problem and he still couldn't do it and he had 4 Saturday's to figure it out. God I wish that guy had a yelp so I could give him 0 starts. If you need to install sod and don't want to do it yourself, call this guy. This company was a great find! Called to get a quote, Miguel was able to send Salvador to quote the same day and came the next day to work on the property. Salvador and helper came to remove lots of weeds, raked and removed leaves, trimmed trees and bushes that needed it. They filled our barrel and took the rest of the trimmings. It was a large property that needed a lot of work. They did a great job and worked very hard especially in the hot heat. We were thankful for them in helping us clean the front and back yard for a reasonable price. They will also continue to help maintain yard on a monthly basis. Scheduled one appointment for Friday at 6pm and he doesn't show. I called at 7pm to ask if he was coming and he said he never received my text confirming my home address. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled. He said he could go Saturday morning at 8 a.m., so I said okay. I asked him to please confirm that he received my new text with the address and he immediately replied back that yes he did receive it and that he would be at our location Saturday morning at 8 a.m.. When we bought our home we decided to use this company since they worked for the previous owners. They do a great job maintaining our yard and go out of their way every week to do extra things that need to be done, like trimming the trees and our roses. The only reasons i'm not giving Miguel 5 stars are a.) I don't want you to think my review biased and "filter" it as it seems you've done with many of the other 5 star reviews he's received! and b.), I'm not instinctively happy with what he was sent to do to my tree in the first place! I live in an apt in the valley and in Aug. our complex underwent repairs and rehab to comply with city inspections. I'm lucky enough to have a Chinese Elm on my patio that has grown from an overly pruned 3 ft.twig to full 25 ft. high glory in the 7 yrs I and my life partner have lived here. This tree provided much needed shade - cutting the temperature in the apt by 10 to 15 degrees, giving beauty and oxygen to the atmosphere outside, and most importantly of all, was revered by my partner and me, having raised and defended it from an unexpected seedling. Against managements knee jerk reactions to all trees abutting apartment structures, It had been agreed upon by my partner and their on-site contractor that the tree could remain but needed to be trimmed (city fire code apparently - like a tree would be the only cause of an edifice burning if it really wanted to!) So imagine my surprise when Miguel showed up early one morning, chainsaw in hand and an urgency to "take out the tree" - no questions asked- no rebuttals taken. The problem was, not only was it still abnormally hot in the valley, but my partner of 24 yrs had just died from an accidental drowning. The tree represented much more to me now than what it represented to a hired landscaper with a deadline of more buildings to attend to. I was shaking when I went inside to call the contractor's assistant. Miguel seemed to me to have a really condescending attitude like I was just another tenant giving him a hard time, and showed no sign of listening! I was so upset I couldn't locate the contractor's phone number, but when I went back outside, a totally changed Miguel said he had just received a call from the assistant telling him NOT to cut down the tree!!! I then watched him climb up the tree and, taking much more time than he might have otherwise had to, and showing the utmost care & artistic sensibility (which from his perched vantage point couldn't have been easy) and obvious skill, do an amazing job of trimming the tree. He didn't deadhead it as would have been the easy or common thing to do, but actually trimmed the tree beautifully. Several months later now as i'm finally getting around to this review, but i have to say, although i REALLY miss the coolness the tree's overgrown shade provided to my apt. (LA you have to get with it in getting shade trees!), when I look at the tree, it actually looks really, really nice, I might even honestly say, it looks better than it did before. He did an absolutely fantastic job and what's more, he didn't carry a grudge or be rude or spiteful for our initial antipathy toward one another. I will also add that Miguel looks to be quite young, but he really seems to know what he's doing. He told me he has been doing the work a long time with his family. It shows. I would hire him in a heartbeat and know that he's a man who tells it like it is, does what he says he's going to do (or is hired to do) and knows what he's talking about. read more

I used Miguel and his crew to update my front entrance. For the first appt he was on time and came when he said. I told him from day 1 that it was very important that he communicate with me if he will be late, or something changes. He did just that. He told me when his guys would be there, and they were there, and they stayed late! The biggest and most important thing to me is that Miguel is honest and flexible. He never asked me for money!! Meaning, I gave him some money down for materials, but then I didn't pay the rest until he was done and he never pushed or argued. Never sai, i need more of this, that, nothing! He DID NOT nickel and dime me at all. I made many changes and he was VERY flexible. Only charged if really necessary. Otherwise, his answer was "sure, we'll take care of it". He and his guys work hard. He answered all of my texts and calls timely. I'm the most happy because he didn't take advantage like many companies do. He was reasonable and he kept his word. It took a little longer than expected, but I didn't mind because I knew he was squeezing me in, in between bigger jobs. He warned me from the beginning. Most important thing to me is communication.
