They also put a dehumidifier down there as agreed. Unfortunately the dehumidifier was pointless as the work still wasn't completed and the mold wasn't remedied. The original person I spoke to ghosted me but I found someone else to talk to. They offered to come out and try a third time but we agreed instead to terminate our business relationship and pay a discounted amount. I get that paying for staff and equipment costs money, but in the end I still paid about $2k for services that had approximately $0 value to me as I still needed to do the work myself. A contractor friend of mine said to be really careful about who you get to work in your crawlspace. Companies that work down there get the lowest paid, least qualified guys to do those undesirable jobs. As at my house, they often don't actually complete the work because most homeowners won't go down there to verify it was actually done. I am inclined to agree. The workmanship and communication were poor, and the experience was far from what we expected based on their initial estimate and representations. Our "custom chimney cap" has been laughed at when we have shown images to our coworkers and family. It has visible hammer marks, bent and uneven metal, and is far from what we were expecting. We tried to resolve our concerns directly and through continued communication, but the issues remain unresolved.

Communication: As a business owner, when you are having a consistent issue with a job, the onus is on you to deal with it. Not once did you come to inspect the problems that we were addressing in person despite being located less than 30 minutes away. Additionally not responding to numerous emails outlining our valid concerns but choosing to immediately respond to a negative google review, displays the priorities of the company. Lastly, when your workers replace siding on the wrong portion of the house that was not included in the contract, try to not to defend your self as "doing us a favor". If you were truly doing us a favor, you would have 1) communicated there was additional damage that was not identified on the initial inspection, and that you planned on fixing it. 2) responded to our communication in a timely manner asking why they were replacing the siding on the house. Craftsmanship. The pictures I have included in the photos section speak for themselves. The chimney cap is not Sealed, as was specified in the contract, and the "custom steeple cap" is honestly an embarrassment. Overall if I could give this company a negative review I would. I forgot to mention one thing. If you as a customer are waiting to make final payment on a project until a response to your concerns are addressed, you can rest assured that he will avoid all communications outside of a google review, but then threaten a lien on your house the day after you place it on the market.

I waited almost two months after the repair to write this review because I wanted to be sure it held up. It has. We have had several rainstorms since the repair, and the ceiling is still dry. It was Saturday morning when I called, a real person answered the phone, and within an hour Luis showed up. He inspected the roof (in the rain) and attic, found that the leak was coming from an attic vent, and explained that the shingles had not been properly lapped over the vent flashing. He also took the time to find the right material to match our unusual roof color, then fixed the leak and installed new shingles while it was still drizzling. Luis did a great job. Fast response, clear explanation, a fair price, and most important of all, the repair worked. We are very grateful and would absolutely recommend LBNR Roofing.
