Local vendors supported, local pottery used, local meat and eggs, local soaps supplied in the room, etc. Being a bit of a history lover, I also loved that they knew and supplied the history of the home that you could spend time reading. Dean (the owner) was wonderful, funny, low key and accommodating especially when our arrival time shifted due to traffic. He also provided chief worthy breakfasts! Food was great! We loved it so much, we reserved it again for our return trip. Second time around was as great as the first! We will return on any cross country drive!

Great place for a show. Coming in was confusing. The entry is in the center and up the stairs. But we had to check in first and get our hands stamped, in the door just to the right. Friendly and helpful staff the whole time, at check-in, the door, bar, etc. Go up the stairs and there is a little landing with bathrooms and a sort of recovery room thing- didn't go in there, but looked like a place to escape the crowd and noise. Straight in the double doors is the show venue, a cool old theater. Great sound, nice lighting. Bar is up another set of stairs, with a small balcony with tables. Accessibility might be an issue; I saw no elevator though there could be one. Two sets of steep stairs were hard on an old guy with bad knees, especially coming down from the bar with drinks. Pizza and burgers, etc., at the bar, nice to have handy. Fast friendly service. Downstairs, the bar to the left of the entry looks quite nice, and they had the show on a TV. Crowd wasn't massive so you could wander up and down and enjoy all areas. Definitely would come back for another show.

My husband could not get the beer he wanted as they were out so he settled for another. He ordered my Riesling but they had to go fetch a warm bottle from the basement. The sound was pretty good, although since we were standing under the speakers, it was difficult for me to hear his between song chats with the audience. I would return. I love old places with character and this suits my enjoyment of small Indy shows.

What the heck even is this place? We'll, it's the site of the Sweet Corn Festival in the late…read moresummer, which is a big deal in the Buckeye Lake area and is one of the main fundraisers for the Millersport Lions Club. I visited right before the festival, so there was no one here and nothing happening. Nevertheless, I had a great time exploring and taking photos, because there are lots of things to see. First, you'll want to see the Charles Holliday Covered Bridge that's located on the property. This covered bridge was built in the late 1890s in a location off site, and then was reconstructed in 1982 and moved to its current location at the Historic Lions Club park. A short walk through the park will take you right to this bridge, which you can explore and sit inside. This is the only covered bridge around Buckeye Lake, but it's one of 15 covered bridges in Fairfield County, Ohio! On your way to see the covered bridge, you can't help noticing an area of the park with vintage buildings and signs. This is Heritage Village, an ongoing preservation project by the Millersport Lions Club to move local landmarks and buildings to the park, restore them, and open them up to the public. Visitors to Lions Park can check out the village whenever the park is open (which is every day, from dawn to dusk), but the buildings are typically only open during the Sweet Corn Festival at the end of the summer, and by appointment during the rest of the season. If you happen to visit this area when nothing is going on, it's a bit like visiting a ghost town. But it's here for you to visit and take photos and explore, so feel free to do so.

I attempted to send a violet to a family who just lost their mother/grandmother…read more I called 4x to no avail. No one answered and there was no voicemail available, as it was not set up. I placed my order online as it was my only option. And completed my intended order. The next morning I received a call and text informing me that they did not have the violet available. I used the florist specifically bc they had the violet "available" and I wanted to use a local florist. I understand that flowers can be out of stock, this is why I called multiple times before placing my online order. They canceled my order and apologized, but I had to use a big box florist to get what I needed instead of the local route. It's unfortunate their inventory isn't accurate, and I couldn't speak to anyone about it prior to my online order.
