The customer service, knowledge and patience I received from Emily, Dan and Will was unparalleled. I purchased a Surly Karate Monkey hardtail, which was my first mountain bike. I had done considerable research, but many questions remained. Sizing was my first concern. Emily brought out her own Karate Monkey, which confirmed the correct size for me; and because I had decided to upgrade the tires, Dan and Will spent considerable time helping me choose which tires would be best for both front and rear. Once the bike arrived, Dan assured a proper fit. He also made certain my compression front fork was adjusted properly and that I understood how to experiment with various settings to maximize its benefit. The folks at Paradise Garage make the experience of buying a new bicycle comfortable, enlightening and fun, as it should be.

My most recent visit was to buy a free standing bike pump to have on hand at home. Both employees in the shop were quick to show me where the pumps were and to suggest one. I always buy what they suggest. They have never steered me in the wrong direction yet. It was a quick visit today, but I am planning on buying my husband a new bike in the new year and Paradise Garage will be my go to for that. When I got home I was extremely pleased with my purchase. The new bike pump pumped up our tires perfectly. If you are a biker and you have not been to Paradise Garage yet please give them a chance. Because of recommendations from the Westerville Bike Club, I gave this place a try. My first visit was during the 2020 pandemic. That has effected every business in some manner, so I am keeping that in mind for my 2020 reviews. The only negative thing I can say about this place is the pandemic kept me from going inside and looking around! That certainly is a reasonable precaution by the owner, and I'm happy to help keep him in business and will probably make this my go to repair shop in the future. Stopped by yesterday to check out this newish store but they were closed. By appointment only on…read moreMonday and Tuesday. Weird. Came back today to see what it was all about. Turns out this isn't your average bike store; it's super specialized, electric bikes only. Currently the stock is pretty slim, only two brands, but more are expected down the road. They will also eventually service electric bikes. Other than a few helmets, the store didn't appear to carry anything other than bikes. From the sound of it, it might stay that way. The owner, I presume, was very friendly and helpful and answered a slew of questions about power, production, country of origin, etc. I hope they prosper. With such a slim selection, this may not be easy, but two sales a month will probably cover rent. Average price tag was $1500.

I was a sober participant and as such I was able to see how patient he was even when the group got more "rowdy" as the evening progressed. The carts have shelves on top, a space in the middle for people to "bartend" and a cooler/ keg hookup. Protip for future groups- bring water and drink it because pedaling makes you sweat or at a minimum dehydrate and that can speed up the process of "party mode". I first met Dan when he was supporting GOBA and saw his talent and care then, some 20 years ago. He and his staff at Breakaway don't just do it well, they do their best. Dan was able to diagnose and solve tire issues on my '85 Bridgestone Touring. It has an odd tire size, 27 1/4 Schrader. Best, Breakaway found a C&O Canal path tire for my upcoming trip. I just picked up my '22 LOOK 795, in for a firmware update and resync. Kevin is now installing half stepper cranks on two Christmas presents, Cannondale T 700's. This tuning and general going over & spiffing, will include fresh brake pads. They'll also put on C&O tires. Breakaway Cycling is one of the reasons Delaware is the place to live.

We were on a weekday so the area was still fairly empty so we had lots of room to maneuver as we drove through the downtown area. David is knowledgeable of the area and the history and is also entertaining to hear as He tells the stories of Columbus, mixed in with a few "dad jokes" that are good for a laugh.
