He explained he had it happen to 2 other houses during covid... but not as bad as mine. The other homeowners probably saw this sooner than I did. Long story short, Chris contacted the company that made the siding.... followed up every step if the way, including ordering the siding once it was approved as warranty work, and scheduling the repairs. As soon as the siding arrived, Chris put me on the schedule the following Monday (EVEN THOUGH HE WAS GOING TO BE AWAY ON VACATION!!!). His emloyees showed up at 8 am Monday, worked all day, returned Tuesday and completed the job by lunch time. Chris was in touch with his foreman WHILE HE WAS ON VACATION, making sure the job was done!!!! Amazing dedication to his customers. Thank you Chris, Ronnie and crew.... for an awesome job well done!

Edit to say: Chris just reached out via text and said someone will call back…read more ... We hired CJ Scotti LLC in early July to replace some melted siding. The workers were friendly and quick and they did a great job with that and so we went ahead and asked them to fix a larger problem with a leaky roof. Partway through the job, CJ himself came over and recommended that we raise up part of a roof, held up by a post on our front porch that he thought had settled down into the ground over the years. I asked how this would affect the curb appeal and he said "you won't even know we were there." The price was $2000 more than we had been verbally quoted by the foreman, and unfortunately nails left around the job caused my neighbors to have a popped tire. Chris was incredibly rude to our neighbor, he backhandedly accused her of trying to scam them, but he eventually agreed to pay for one of 2 replaced tires, and they not received a check from them. Furthermore, I had to go all around and pick up nails and shards of metal after they left to prevent further damage to my or my neighbor's cars tires. Raising the porch roof really opened a can of worms. There are gaps now between where the ceiling and siding should have met, new pieces of wood left unpainted and instead of screwing the wood pieces together tight, they left a gap and filled it in with caulk to hide the gaps. Finally, after about 3 weeks we noticed a board under our newly repaired roof had popped up, exposing a new gap in the roof big enough for rain and small critters to get into. I've called and left 3 messages for Chris and have not heard back, and am getting pretty scared that I won't hear back from them again to at minimum repair the hole in my roof. Lucas answered while on an existing job. He was very honest saying he can't drop by to make an assessment. Knowing the importance of the situation, he said he'll have his father drop by to take a look. The father (was it Joe?) came by as promised and saw that the previous roofer didn't put flashing around a portion of the chimney. He gave a couple of possible fixes and I picked the more expensive one. He gave me a break on price if i went with the more expensive fix which i appreciated. Before showing up for the work due to budgeting issues i changed to the lower price solution. He didn't have any problems with this change. He and his other son (not Lucas) came on the day as promised. The funny thing was I didn't know they were there until i heard banging outside! They ripped some of the old roof tiles, installed new flashing and overlay them with some leftover tiles I had laying around. They also caulked around other parts of the chimney. They cleaned up their mess. There were aome storms afterwards and no leak! Thx to Lucas for knowing the importance of the problem and having your father and brother fit me into their schedule. And thx to father and son (was it Joe and Ezekiel?!) for fixing the leak! I would definitely consider them to put in a new roof when the time comes!

They did a first Street job from the time I made contact. They called back after my initial message…read morewithin a day, sent an estimator out soon after calling and to scheduled the job in a very reasonable amount of time given the weather and the current pandemic, about two weeks. On the day the job was done, they arrived at 7 AM and proceeded to lay down protective tarps and immediately got to work finishing in about four hours (small house, 3 bedroom ranch). The roofing crew was huge, nine people, and they work feverishly and constantly doing all the needed jobs. By the time the roof was done the area had been completely cleared of debris and put in their dumpster truck to haul away. I even witnessed one worker coming through bushes on the border with my neighbor making sure he got everything that may have blown into the shrubs. The price was reasonable: $7200 for the job on a simple 975 square foot ranch house. They also offered a discount for cash which I waived. I was deeply concerned about hiring a roofer, but they came highly recommended and certainly lived up to the reputation they have built among my friends and Metuchen.

When he came down I showed him quickly two gray colors. All he said was when you get your estimate there will be a figure from Cambridge and a figure for the color you choose of IKO. I asked him to explain this and said we are on a tight budget with me being downsized 6 years ago and pushed into early retirement. He focused on one book with an adhesive under the shingle. I asked, is that how the shingle is held down? HE YELLED AT ME saying I said shingles are nailed down. Being polite and having worked 40 years with professional NYC attorneys I bit it. I asked him bear with me because I I am nervous with a Sloan Kettering Consult next week. He yelled at me I AM NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR PERSONAL PROBLEMS. He had some looks to give my son, who was leaving from lunch from our home that wasn't even addressing him. He entered short on patience walking across our lawn both ways. He never went to the back of the house nor did he measure anything. He was unprofessional, rude, obnoxious, waste of our time and I told him he was rude to me and he defied me arguing. I put his books on the table near him. He left them. Penyak, if you want your books come get them. I left 3 messages with the secretary that if the owner or manager wasn't going to call us today, that I was going to post the story. He should be fired.

So we asked them to come back for routine gutter cleanup and an inspection for leak prevention, as they advertised as one of their expertise. This time, we are greatly disappointed; they did nothing with the gutters, leaving nails popping out, but told me I had a problem with part of the roof, but no definitive scope of work. Then someone claimed to be a representative called to talk about "roof work", including replacing all of my skylights. When asking for an estimate, it was refused and the person just kept reiterating the same phrase, "you have an expensive home". That didn't sit well, so I chose to end the conversation and definitely end the relationship. SAD!
