I remember the days of going to the office full of "specialists" downtown when I was younger. All I…read moreever had was slightly blurry vision and glasses that never fit right. I've been seeing Stavros Petrou for at least 20 years now, and he's helped me in many ways, including saving my eyesight from blindness twice. For whatever reason, my eyes leak cells sometimes, and that causes cloudiness but can also leave me blind if it's not resolved. He immediately sent me to a specialist the first time, where I was given drops, and the second time--at least 10 years later--he gave me the same drops I had used previously, saving my eyesight again. My prescription has always been perfect. The one time I wasn't happy with the lenses that he received from the manufacturer, he sent them back and got them fixed right away. My glasses last. I've replaced them three, maybe four times in the time I've been visiting his office. My problems are always resolved, even on the busiest days. I'll be very sad if I ever have to change optometrists.

I saw Dr. Grewal for the first time today. The full eye exam is $82. The pre-test included the…read moremachine with the balloon picture in it, and glaucoma (air puff) testing. During the eye exam, she took a history, asked me about any issues I had, and then did the "1 or 2 game" with me. She specifically mentioned assessing how my eyes work together, and did some tests with both eyes open that I hadn't had done before. I also opted for basic contact lens fitting, for an additional $55. For years, optometrists have been telling me that because I have mild astigmatism in one eye, all contact lenses are going to be blurry. (Basic lenses won't fix the astigmatism, and astigmatism lenses were too strong for me.) Dr. Grewal told me there's a "mathematical conversion" that will allow me to wear basic lenses and still have clear vision. This is the first time any optometrist has let me know this is an option. Dr. Grewal put contacts in my eyes. It took a number of tries to get the right lens in, and she kept reassuring me it wasn't my fault- which was actually really helpful. Then she taught me to remove and replace the lenses. For the next week, I'll wear contacts for longer and longer each day. Next week I'll return to report back on how these lenses feel, and she'll give me at least two different brands to trial. She says we can repeat this process until I find a contact lens brand I am most comfortable with, all for the $55 fee. Look and See is about fifty dollars cheaper than my previous optometrist down the street, and their care is way better. Dr. Grewal is knowledgeable and friendly, and I appreciate the guarantee that I'll find contacts I like. There was also no pressure to buy glasses or contacts from them (so far)! *It is important to note that these were the fees for eye exams and BASIC contact lens fitting as of January 2019, and these fees are subject to change. Astigmatism lens fitting costs more.*

Dr. Grewal's office got back to me on the same day and offered me several availabilities. They even managed to squeeze me in for a same-day appointment due to a last minute cancellation. Compared to most optometrists that I contacted, Dr. Grewal's eye exam fee was very reasonable and she was knowledgeable, thorough and friendly in her examination. We saw him again this year for a check up and again he was thorough and informative. The other employees there have been courteous and helpful in helping us select frames for her glasses.
