The flap is more risky for that. The staff was awesome, and helpful. The only thing I wish they had improved upon was informing me how painful PRK is. For three days, it really hurt. No....REALLY. He is extremely thorough. He takes time to explain the results and you can see it all on two huge monitors in his office. Be warned: they double book so this is not a quick in and out deal. But if you go first thing (7:45 a.m.) you'll be out by 9:00/9:15 a.m. He is personable, very professional and I feel confident that he has thoroughly examined my eyes. Opthalmologists are medical professionals - their scope is much broader and they are medically qualified, as opposed to optometrists. This gentleman is reputable.

He could speak in Cantonese (also Mandarin) to Mom. Dr. Ock is also very innovative in that he used a chart using numbers instead of alphabets when he realized she couldn't remember the alphabets. This is the first time that this method has been used on Mom. His assistant was also patient in dealing with an elderly person who had immense difficulty following directions. I am extremely happy with the service provided by this location. I, too, had previously gone to see Dr. Ock a week earlier and had a great eye examination. He gave me 2 types of sample contact lenses to try at home. When I went back to let him know which one worked better, he ordered 3 more types of sample contact lenses to try to see if the fit and clarity would improve. I also went back again for a scratchy eye. Dr.Ock did not charge for the examination. This is a very honest practice and very personable and knowledgeable.
