He flaked on my event one week before the party! He stopped responding to all my communication. Terrible business owner. Lorenzo was recommended to my friend by a lady who's hired him a few times. So I texted him in early June about a 21st birthday party in Mid-August (this past weekend). I also called to lave him a voicemail. My initial text did not get a response until 5 days later. Apparently his phone wasn't returned to him until then. Fine, I didn't fret. Let me shorthand the text exchange and voicemails (that only I left, he never ONCE called me) with Lorenzo before all communication fell apart: June 12th- Me: "Please set aside the date (August 12th) and I will call you soon to discuss. Thanks." June 13th- Lorenzo: "Ok great" July 10th- Me: "Hey Lorenzo, I wanted to touch base about the party on the 12th. When I initially spoke to ------ he said you quoted him $--/hr plus $-- travel fee to go to Downey. That's a total of $--- plus tip. We are thinking of addint a tip instead of having a tip jar out. Is that fine with you?" Lorenzo: "Of course that's okay. Whatever you prefer" Me: Great. We're thinking of typical drinks for the menu. So we'll definitely buy tequila, rum, Malibu, vodka, and gin. What other liquor do you think we should buy?" NO RESPONSE Monday July 31- Me: "Hello. I will call you later today to discuss details for August 12th. Thanks" Wednesday August 2- Lorenzo: "Good morning. I'm sorry for getting back so late but I will call you later this afternoon to discuss your event" Me: "Thank you" OKAY, It's been a while since the initial contact. We should be able to get back on track. Later that afternoon........NO CALL. I give him a call and leave a voicemail. Days pass and I start to worry. NO RESPONSE. Monday August 7- THE WEEK OF THE PARTY! Me: "Address for Saturday: Number, Street, Downey, CA" Me: "What's a good time to discuss plans this evening." I leave him another voicemail. NO RESPONSE. Tuesday August 8- Me: "Please call me back. I'd like to know what's left to buy for you to have a set up ready." I leave another voicemail. NO RESPONSE. I call the person that recommended Lorenzo and he's now worried. He calls that lady that hires Lorenzo and she says this isn't like him. Well, apparently he is. Me: "Hey Lorenzo. I really need to hear back from you . I'm concerned you haven't responded to any of my messages and I think you're trying to avoid me. The party is this weekend and I need to make arrangements for you. Please call me. If I don't hear back from you by tomorrow I'll have to make other plans." NO RESPONSE!!! I was so pissed!.....and so was the friend that recommended him. That was so unprofessional. If you weren't available then at least have the courage to tell me instead of stringing me along for two months until the week of the event. I ended up bartending my niece's 21st birthday party. I learned how to make a few signature drinks and bought the supplies myself. It was actually cheaper that way. She wanted me there as a guest, and I promised her a bartender, so I didn't want to disappoint. I handled my end of the deal.....unlike Lorenzo. I see that another Yelper had the same terrible experience as me. Do yourself a favor, go with another bartender and secure them early over the phone with all the details up front. Don't let them get away with just texting you. Lesson learned. read more

I have to say I was a little worried when I originally hired Lorenzo's Bar Service for my wedding, considering I found them via Craigslist... I felt like I went back and forth a lot with their coordinator and it was pretty frustrating. I was not given a confirmation phone call a day before the event and their contact number went straight to voicemail. I was not very pleased about this... about 2 hours before the event, they called and confirmed they were coming.... This is the only reason they are missing a Star... As they arrived, and got down to it. AMAZING SERVICE! i was VERY pleased with how efficient and helpful they were to my guests and how fast they did my set up during my cocktail hour. 4 Stars to Lorenzo's Bar Service. Hired Lorenzo yet again for another party this past January. It was SO last minute. But him and his crew came through. Where do I began. I came across Lorenzo's Bar Services on Craigslist when I began my search for bartenders and servers for my wedding. I did some searching on the web to see how legit this company and guy where and I came across the few Yelp reviews and their Facebook page. After reading some of the very positive things people had said about them, I decided to get into contact with the owner Lorenzo. After filling out his online form, I was quickly contacted from Lorenzo himself and told me that he had received my event information. After a few texts and emails exchanged, we had agreed on that he and two of his servers would do my wedding. He was available and he had seemed to be a pretty nice and professional guy, but boy was I wrong. After our first initial contact (early July - my wedding was on Aug. 3rd) I requested that we meet as I wanted to go over the drink list with him and also wanted to get to know him a bit better. Again, we exchanged a few emails and texts about meeting and he began to give me the first round of excuses that his schedule was really busy and that he had to check to see if he was available. He soon texted me and proposed to meet over a weekend, which I agreed but only after 5pm because I normally work. Soon after that, he started to not respond as fast as he had done in the past but now took a few hours/day to respond back. He than alerted me that he could not do the weekend anymore because he had events on both those days (totally understandable) so I gave him the option to choose a date and time that suited him best. His response was to meet during the week (Thursday preferably) so I agreed and even went as far to be fair to him and drive half way and meet at night (8pm) so he and I wouldn't have to deal with bad traffic. I then waited for his response and he did nothing. A day went by and I never heard from him in any form of communication. I texted him the following day and I told him that just like him, was also a very busy person, not to mention planning a wedding at the same time, so that I needed to know if we were on to meet on that day at that time. He quickly responded yes and that it wouldn't be a problem...Yeah sure it wasn't. Thursday came around, and as usual I didn't hear a thing from him. After I got off from work (around 5:30) I texted him back and asked if we were still on to meet. His response back was "I am still at work. I am waiting for my co-worker to relieve me. I will call you back as soon as I can" WELL THAT NEVER HAPPENED!!! This prick decided from that point on to never return any of my calls or texts. I even called him back the next day and left a voicemail for him saying that I would give him the benefit of doubt that something could've come up, but he never bothered to call me back. I am so upset and simply amazed that someone who is an owner of a company, let alone in the "SERVICE" industry, would have such poor communication and more importantly display such a lack of professionalism. If he simply did not want to my wedding for whatever reason, he could have been upfront from the very beginning and said that he did not want to do it instead of dragging it out for weeks and leaving me high and dry a week prior to my wedding. That's the part that really pisses me off that people don't take into consideration other peoples time. If he had called me even after the shady communication, I would probably would had still used him, but when he completely decided to stop communicating with me altogether is when I flipped out. I sent him back a dirty text and expressed how upset I was and that I was going to do everything in my power to let everyone know to NEVER EVER EVER use his services. Let this be a lesson learned to all those of you who are in need of bartenders and servers to never give Lorenzo nor his staff any business what so ever. I will be happy to share all of the texts and emails for those that may think I am being dramatic, however, in all fairness this ass**** just picked with the wrong person. We used Lorenzo's Bar Services last week for FriendsGiving dinner we had for 40 people. Lorenzo and his staff member Alma were AMAZING!! They made our event go so smoothly and were a huge help. I have read the other reviews posted here and find it sad that someone would post such negative feedback for a service they didn't use. I found Lorenzo's on craigslist, and because if their competitive prices I chose to use them. My wedding was on Valentine's day evening. It was an outdoor event with 160 guests. I requested 1 bartender and 4 servers. Lorenzo and I exchanged a few emails concerning details of my wedding event (I.e. theme, # of guests, duties expected...) Although it was a little difficult to reach him at times, I trusted that we had a contract and he would come through for me. Thank goodness for Lorenzo and his staff. If not for them my wedding could have been a disaster. Everyone was so professional and treated my guests like royalty. At one point we even ran out of drink cups and he had a server run to the store and buy some. Lorenzo and his staff were always smiling, cleaning and getting my guests anything they needed. Stephanie is a sweetheart, I received numerous compliments on how attentive she was to my 87 yr old grandmother and many of my other guests. I wanted to stop by and tell everyone how great you guys did for my mothers birthday celebration. At first I was a little worried since I found your info on Craig list but you guys did great! Jeremiah was our bartender and all my guest were very happy with the service he provided. He was very friendly, professional and nice. I was able to enjoy the party without having to worry about serving drinks. He also paid attention to the crowd and found out that a younger kid wanted a drink and he told him he was not old enough to drink which was great! He was on time very clean and so was his assistant she was great and friendly as well. He even danced with us at the request of all the guests!LOL! Which was pretty cool! I have used Lorenzo and his staff many times, Chanukah parties, Passover Dinners. Birthday Parties etc. I have always been more than pleased with the service he and his staff have offered. They arrive early and do a wonderful job with whatever tasks I have requested. Friendly to the guests and very attentive. I will not use anyone else for my functions. Highly recommended. Lorenzo helped me and my husband for our baby shower a week ago and his services were more than what we expected. He came prepared and immediately started starting up our bar and buffet areas and by my surprise he also had material we really ended up needing such as serving spoons, cake cutters, torches etc...
