When I asked them about riding a different horse that I could learn more on--just while I got my muscles and skills back--they were unsympathetic. I recognize that school horses are not known for being amazing, but that's not what was going on here. There were easy horses--I just wasn't riding them on a consistent basis. I put off writing this review because I wasn't fully convinced that they were the problem--I thought maybe my expectations were off. Unfortunately for them, I have gone on to have an INCREDIBLE experience at a different barn. I feel like I can unequivocally say now that this is not where you should spend your money. The ride takes you through the North loop of Kensington Park. And, from start to finish, everything felt organized, welcoming, and peaceful. The trail itself was beautiful with both wooded paths and open areas to explore. The horses were calm, well trained, and clearly well cared for. The horses all knew to walk in a line while along paths which made the ride relaxing, since you could sit back and enjoy the scenery. The guides were a huge highlight. They were friendly, patient teachers, and made sure everyone felt comfortable the entire time. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do and bond with the horses. The entire ride they made sure to take photos of the group and stopped to take individual photos too. I highly recommend High Vibe Trail Rides for anyone wanting a fun outdoor experience. GEC staff was amazing from day 1 and willing to accommodate all of my needs. I arrived in Michigan and met with the barn manager, Jenna, who was equally as nice and attentive as those I spoke to on the phone. Once my horse arrived he was a little underweight and the staff at Groveland went ABOVE AND BEYOND to get him back up to weight. I am so happy with my choice!
