after trusting my dry cleaning weekly for 15 years, today was my very last visit to Lorraine cleaners. Thomas, a new employee or owner not sure was so condescending. I usually bring my dry cleaning in for next day service, at times even same day if I am there by 9 o'clock in the morning. Today I brought my dry cleaning in and requested service for tomorrow, Thomas said there was no way I was going to get it, I said no you don't understand. I usually get mine dry cleaning next day. His reply was there is another place down the street if you want it done. No options nothing is only comment was you can leave now. A shame as I have been through several management changes and we have adapted and worked well together. I hope that if he is the owner, he reflects on his actions today and if he is not, the ownership will work with him. As for me, I'm done. read more

I visited this shop because I needed some uniform alterations. Timing wasn't perfect because the tailor's work load is on high demand but he works hard and he seems to be very knowledgeable. I noticed his interaction with other customers and he takes pride of his job. He's good on what he does. I was impressed by the excellent job done with my skirt. During my visit I was also helped by Daniela and she was friendly and attentive. read more

Our family were longtime clients of this place for about 7-8 years until it recently came under abysmal new management/ownership. Back in July, we paid our last visit. The staff is now incompetent, rude, and insulting to customers. When our clothes were dropped off, our ticket displayed a price to be paid upon pick up. When we returned to pick them up, the cashier told us the total was over $20 more and offered to explanation other than a curt "price went up." We said that was not the agreed upon price and presented the receipt. She proceeded to wordlessly take our clothes off the hook by the cash register and took them to the back. It took threatening to call the police for her to finally give us our clothes for the agreed upon price. Do not go here unless you expect terrible service. read more

I do not use dry cleaners often, but I can always appreciate when service is done correctly and on time. The few dry cleaners I have used in South Florida so far have not really been as good as expected as I have often seen stains still in my items. Needed a tuxedo done next-day and after calling three stores I just asked one of them to mention a place that does offer next day, and they mentioned Lorraine. The place is not the cleanest, but they are very effective. Taylor on site for the most part. They told me it would be ready by 5PM next day and it was already there by 2:30pm. Pickup was quick and the piece was perfect. If I ever need stuff done in a pinch, this will be the one I use. read more

I repeatedly receive text messages from Lorraine Cleaners. I have gone to their establishment and asked that my phone numbers be deleted from their database and they apparently did that for a I did not receive messages for some time. But recently it started all over again. I've talked with the manager (twice) who insists that she has deleted it from the computer. This feels like harrassment. If you care about your clothes, don't bring them here! My friend brought them 3 very nice/expensive suits to be cleaned and when he picked them up they were DESTROYED!!!!! Not only did they blame it on him, they were unapologetic and rude. Wouldn't you think that if a clothing item could be either laundered or dry cleaned, the person taking in the item behind the counter would ask you which option you preferred, rather than automatically choosing the more expensive option and charging at least twice the amount for cleaning it? When I went to pick up that item (along with other items on the same ticket) and mentioned to the person at the register that the price seemed high, she instead chastised me for not checking the receipt prior to leaving the store when I dropped off the item. Yes, I certainly learned my lesson to check every item when I drop off clothing for laundering or dry cleaning. From this experience, I also decided that I will stay away from these rude and, it seems, unscrupulous people! read more

They do an ok job of standard dry cleaning and a very good job on sweaters which is hard to find in a dry cleaners. My only quibble is that I dropped of an item for alteration and paid in advance which is their policy. It turned out the seamstress could not alter the item but they would not refund my money. They would only give me a credit. Didn't seem fair to me. read more

I had extremely bad experience. I brought a pair of new pants with several spots. After first attempt most of the spots were still there. After second attempt spots were gone except for one. However, pants now had streaks of discolored fabric. I showed it to Yvonne, she acknowledged it, and said that I had to talk to owner Liz. She refused to give me Liz's phone number, but promised that Liz would call me. I called twice, but Liz was never there. I left messages both for Liz and Yvonne - no reply. So far, I spent $8 for cleaning and ended up with a pair of new ruined pants. read more

Lorraine dry cleaner in Hallendale is a rip off. They charged me $36.10 to clean one, standard length curtain panel. When I showed them a receipt from the dry cleaner down the road who only charged me $12 for the same service, they refused to adjust the price to a more reasonable amount.
