What a great little library. We just happened to be driving through the neighborhood and caught the book sale in the parking lot of the library. Hmmm, should we stop by? Yea, let's do it. We ended up getting a bunch of books for such a bargain. From X-Files Official Guide to Steinbeck to UFO to Martha Stewart...and many more purchases. It was fun. We'd do it again, but we better get started on our reading with these before our next book hunt.

It's a nice little neighborhood library. They really need to update their children's books though, getting very old...

Weekdays it is open from 9 AM to 9 PM, but closed on Sundays. Huge lot for parking. The library itself is beautiful. There's a large fountain in the center of the building that gives the space a unique, open feel, and it makes the library feel more like a community gathering place with an air of nostalgia and calmness that comes with a spa day. There are lots of tables and study areas spread throughout the library, so it's never difficult to find a place to sit. The collections are plentiful, with a wide selection of books across different genres, mixed media, and materials for everyone including a dedicated children's area. One feature that was new to me was the Makerspace. It's available by appointment for library card holders, and you'll need to bring your own design or project idea. An instructor is there to guide you through the process, which makes it less intimidating for anyone interested in learning something new. It lives next to a café located on the lower level, which is convenient if you plan on spending a few hours studying or working. Overall, this is an amazing library with great amenities, plenty of space, and resources that go beyond books. This is somewhere I recommend everyone checks out when they're in the area - pun intended.

It does get a bit noisy considering the children section is not too far away from the "adult" area but it isn't a problem for me. Everyone is pretty respectable of being quiet at this library. What I love most about this library is that it is small and that gives it an intimate feeling. I feel like I'm always welcomed here. The library staff are all very helpful, nice, and are always smiling. Very patient too! They have excellent customer service, which I think always makes or breaks a place. Overall come check out this small, cosy library! I love doing my mental work here and you will too. 5/5

One of the biggest advantages of El Dorado Neighborhood Library is its location. The library is…read moresituated next to a large community park complex, making it an excellent destination for anyone who wants to combine a library visit with outdoor activities, walking, or simply spending time in the park. As for the library itself, it is on the smaller side and has a fairly minimal book collection. There are only a limited number of tables and seating areas, with very few electrical outlets available, making it less accommodating for digital nomads, remote workers, or students who need to charge their devices. A small number of public computers are available for use. To access the restroom, patrons must check out a key. While I understand the purpose behind this policy, it can feel somewhat inconvenient and invasive. The library also receives very little natural light. Combined with the dark carpeting and plain, colorless walls, the overall aesthetic feels gray, dated, and somewhat lifeless. The ambiance lacks the warmth and inviting atmosphere found in many other neighborhood libraries. During several of my visits, the librarians generally kept to themselves and appeared to perform their duties with a neutral, professional demeanor. Overall, this is not a particularly exciting library to visit, nor is it especially well-suited for remote work or extended study sessions. The children's area is also fairly uninviting and could benefit from improvements. In my opinion, this library is best suited for patrons who simply want a quiet place to sit and read--just be prepared, as the chairs are not the most comfortable for longer visits.

Sometimes they seem busy, but not annoyed. Tip: If you're picking up a book on hold, talk to the main desk to claim it. There is no designated self-service shelves for holds like at other branches (like Brewitt). The exterior architecture is very beautiful and worth admiring on your visit. There is apparently a small garden in the back but I've not had the pleasure of seeing it yet. No designated parking lot -- street parking only -- but a convenient book drop is located at the green curb right in front of the entrance for quick and easy returns.

Also they themselves do not use inside voices. This is a library not a daycare center, those of us without children would love if we weren't subjected to over 30 minutes of the same children scream crying. The parent needs to be told if their child is having a melt down, to take it outside and not to the courtyard that backs up to the study area either--completely outside. Also Elvin thing was never resolved, the fact that the library cat was carelessly kicked out is disturbing.

The park includes a children's playground, basketball and tennis courts, outdoor restrooms, picnic tables, and plenty of space for respectful visitors to enjoy. The library itself offers convenient hours and a good variety of seating options. There are tables with built-in electrical outlets, although the outlets occasionally provide low voltage or do not function consistently. In addition to standard chairs, there are several firmer, couch-style lounge chairs located in the back half of the library. The facility also includes study areas, private study rooms, a conference room, a dedicated teen section, a computer area, and a large children's center. My personal favorite feature is the campus-like outdoor patio. It includes a fireplace, comfortable outdoor furniture, and umbrellas, creating an inviting space to work, read, relax, or enjoy a meal. It's the perfect place to take a break and appreciate the day while visiting the library. The areas that could use the most improvement are the inconsistent Wi-Fi connection and the maintenance of the restrooms. At times, the Wi-Fi can be unreliable, and the bathrooms are not always fully stocked with toilet paper and soap. The trash receptacles could also be emptied more frequently to better accommodate the volume of visitors. Overall, the ambiance is neutral in both color palette and aesthetic. While the design is fairly standard and not particularly distinctive, it is comfortable, functional, and well-suited for studying, working remotely, or simply spending a quiet afternoon.

This is a nice library - newer than the one they had closer to the middle of campus. I like the third floor (which is the library's 2nd floor - as the first floor is occupied by their computer center/tech lab). It's pretty quiet up here most of the time and the students keep to themselves. There are plenty of outlets on the third floor so you can plug in and recharge your laptop while you study. Plenty of seating as well - I like the ones that line the HUGE picturesque glass windows that overlook the parking lot, Goldenwest Street and beyond. You can see the mountain range far far in the backdrop on clearer days. A great plus is the strong wifi connection here and also that it was nicely ventilated/air conditioned - so it creates a nice refuge from the heat waves we've been having in the area lately. The staff/librarians here are friendly - I haven't had to use any of their services or expertise, but they're always cheerful/happy looking. Restrooms are clean for the most part - the ones on the 1st and 2nd floor tend to get messy throughout the door due to the traffic, the cleanest ones I feel, are on the 3rd floor as most students don't head up that high. Hours can be a bit better - maybe open later during the week and even have hours during the weekends if budget permits. Current hours - Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs - 8a to 845p and Fridays 8am to 3p.
