The rooms are spacious and well-designed as overhead living space above your own private parking garage. Slightly off the beaten path you're definitely outside of downtown TJ, but that's somewhat of a relief as you can take a breather from the traffic and the congestion that comes with downtown living. Major drawbacks are that they don't allow in-and-out privileges, so once you're checked in, you're in for the night. Which would have been fine had we known that prior to checking in; we ended up asking if we could scoot to the gas station next door for some snacks and other necessities and that seemed to be okay by the staff so long as someone remained behind in the room. The other major drawback was given your "in" status there's no wifi, so unless you enjoy the Spanish language TV you're kind of limited on your personal entertainment options. Rooms come equipped with a dvd player and a ipod dock so there are some entertainment outlets, but not many. Seems like a great place to hideaway for a night or two with the special someone, but definitely not a place to take the kids especially since you're going to be trapped with them all night. Other than that, the bathroom was sparsely furnished with few soaps/shampoos or extra towels. No coffee maker/cups/dishes/etc. The hot water in the shower was extremely comfortable at the highest level, which is probably why the hot water at the faucet was never hot. TL;DR: Would go again with adequate forethought of planning and coming well-outfitted. Great value for the price. I'd complain, but what was I expecting for $25USD/night.

This place blew my mind and they offer you free parking a block away behind the Soriana which is secure and nothing happened to my car. I would most definitely stay here again

Downside for our stay was the fitness center opens later in the morning. This is a very high transient location for travelers that go in between San Diego & Mexico. Be careful at night. There were many sketchy people loitering around the gas station. SUGGESTION: Try to get a room on the backside of the complex. The front is busier, with many of the 18-wheeler tractor-trailor trucks parking in reverse, creating that loud beeping sound. Overall, if you're comfortable with this arrangement, for the price and convenience, I recommend staying here.

My friend and I decided to make the time for a stay here. Easy enough we made reservations through Expedia for the hotel stay. We arrived and found a parking lot marked for the hotel. It was gates with a security guard 24/7. I was impressed with the parking situation, it was clean & well lit. Only negative about the parking there is no hallway or connection directly to the hotel. We had to walk around the block. Once we got the front of the hotel we were greeted by a pleasant security guard. The lobby was cool from working air conditioning. It was decorated in what I imagine is what it looked like when it was first operating. As we checked in, I could not stop admiring the look of the hotel all together. We got our keys & proceeded to gather our belongings to go to our room. This where we lost our enthusiasm for this adventure. NO ELEVATOR, weird stair/walkways & non existent A/C in the upper hallways. The room numbers were numbered odd as well. Once we got to the room the AC took a long time to cool the room. The room itself was very clean, decent TV & clean bathroom. The front desk lady was okay - just okay. She checked us in & was no help after. Any requests for toiletries seemed ridiculous to her.
