We visited this location at 9pm on a Saturday night and we got a table with no wait. The restaurant was beautiful, bright, and busy. The music was pretty loud. Our server was polite and attentive. There's everything you'd want in a Mexican restaurant at Los Bravos: the menu is an open book of delectable choices. One of my faves is the Quesadilla Bravo with chorizo sausage and shrimp inside! Love the food , but today I saw something while picking up an order which makes me hesitant on going back. Two men working in the kitchen were not wearing masks, and one was using the same cup to refill his drink after drinking out of it the first time. My wife and I love their food and have been feeling good about having it delivered, thinking it was safely prepared. I decided to pick it up today and I know for many, masks aren't a priority but it's like wearing gloves to handle the food anytime, not just during covid. Masks are just as important now in this pandemic, so I will not be eating there until they really decide to follow the safety precautions. It is not for them but for all of us. read more

One of the oddest drink combinations I've ever seen was here at Los Bravos. A margarita served to the table with a bottle of Coronita upside down inside the glass. It begged the questions: how to drink it? If you removed the bottle, the glass would overflow - so the logical next step was to drink the margarita, albeit timidly, and wait for the level to go down enough in order to pull out the bottle. As it turned out, actually finishing the margarita wouldn't allow the beer to emerge. So it wasn't like one of those self-watering plant spikes. A margarita with a beer chaser isn't one of my favorite tastes in the world, but chalk this one up to "unique" and leave it at that. Lots of the normal fare at Los Bravos with a few stand-outs including the El Rayo Special - grilled chicken breast topped with grilled onions and button mushroom with cheese dip. Chalula Shrimp - grilled shrimp seasoned with red sauce and diced cayenne. Sombrero Special - 8 oz rib-eye steak or chicken breast topped with grilled shrimp, smothered in white chipotle sauce. Served with rice, fresh cauliflower, zucchini and broccoli. I had the El Rayo and it was quite delicious. Went perfectly with that beer/margarita combo. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Evansville. I usually always get their veggie combo C. Recently I switched it up & tried their shrimp tacos, which did not disappoint! I'm pretty sure it was corn tortilla they used which was delicious. I love their 1/2 table side guacamole as an appetizer. There's usually enough to go with the entrees as well. read more

I love this place, and am often here with my friends and family. They are extremely efficient and fast--if I'm in a big hurry, I could even eat there in 20 minutes (though I nearly always take longer--why rush?) I've never had a wrong order. I love their lunch Quesadilla Supreme, and #29 (burrito supreme), and they have positively delicious fajitas! But then again, what isn't good? Enchiladas especially! Great food! I'm from Texas and this food was the closest i have had to authentic in a while living in Indiana. I enjoyed the tacos al pastor and they were phenomenal. Great chips and salsa. Also ordered a dos xx margarita, which came out with amber dos xx and not lager dos xx. Manager wouldn't comp it so had to order another one (ended up spending $19 on margaritas just to get one to enjoy) but it was really good. Waiter was really nice, too! read more

When you live in a town like Evansville, there really isn't much variety aside from a few random restaurants that pop up here and there but usually they never last. However Los Bravos has lasted for quiet a long while and that isn't just luck. You never have to wait a long period of time for your food. Every time I have gone my food is out within 10 minutes. Always hot and fresh. Chips are always warm and salsa is delicious. It's truly authentic. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because a couple years back when I went I asked for something on the kids menu and was refused. I think this is silly because I was paying for something at their restaurant. I was giving THEM business. So why should it have mattered what I ordered? Anyways, I highly recommend this place. If you have a small child, you can ask for a small rice or a single taco and you're good to go. (: read more

This used to be my favorite Mexican place in Evansville, but they keep raising their prices and the quality of the food seems to have gone south a bit as well. I would recommend going to Los Portales on north Green River Road. It's our new fave. read more

I love eating here. I've never had a problem with service. Everyone is always friendly and everything always comes out right. I often place to go order and my food is always ready in 15 minutes or less. Chicken on the beach is a definite favorite also the fajita nachos. Enjoy! read more

We went here after my nephew's baptism on Sunday and had a group of about 30 people. As soon as I seen our waitress I was hoping it would go good but from past visit it had never been good! She never smiles, is slow, never checks on you are refills your drinks unless you ask. Well this visit she really has made my visit my last. I was one of the last to get my food and waited for my check with several others and then she said I had to pay her, when several others went up front and paid??? I had a bill that was $21.87 and I gave her $40.00. She took forever to get my change and then gives it to me and I'm upset because just thinks she can keep the coins and I'm leaving without really looking at the bills. Guess what she shorted me $10.00, I know it my problem for not checking there and then but the waitress, Andrea has no problem with stealing someone money! I usually like the food from this resturant but now i have had it with them. This los bravos on 1st Ave. has messed up my order multiple times and my recent order I found a long hair enfused in my nachos with beef and cheese. I will never go back to this los bravos again. read more
