I don't remember the name of what I had but I loved it. It was like a sandwich but instead of bread it had to tostones. The inside was meat and cheese. This was a really good sandwich and little messy to eat but worth it. The bottom toston did get soggy and hard to handle soon as a sandwich. The fries were fried perfectly. Spotted this food truck outside of our hotel for a conference break and had to try the arepas. The mobile kitchen was nicely decorated and had a great open-aired kitchen experience that you would expect and want. I got the beef and it did not disappoint. Two stars totally dedicated to the delicious and well done Cheese Cachapa which I found expensive. This food truck was located in the miami seaquarium and Overall I was not happy with my experience with their food. We also ordered patacones. These (as the pictures indicated on their menu) where supposed to be big fried plantain filled with shredded meat and salad with sauces. We got a small plantain sandwich with cold meat and not fresh fries. Or at least that's what I experienced when I went yesterday. This plate costs almost $13 and it was too much. Arepas! I visited Los Chamos when they were parked at the Hollywood Arts Park and ordered the Pabellon arepa. Shredded beef, black beans, plantains, and cheese. I am giving five stars partially because of the service. On this food truck adventure my brother had requested I bring a few things home to him, and food trucks don't always offer the best traveling containers. The man who helped noticed me carrying wrapped things and asked if I would like the arepa to go and wrapped it up nicely for me. He also went as far as to get me a bag and packaged up the food I had from the other trucks for me as well. He definitely went above and beyond to help me out with my delivery girl errand. Now for the arepa. I have to admit that I got a little too excited with all the food trucks in front of me and by the time I got home I was too full and I knew I wouldn't enjoy it to its fullest, so I saved it and brought it for lunch at work the next day. It was delicious! Even though I put it in the microwave to reheat it the beef, bean, cheese and plantain flavors were all still great. I will admit I probably sacrificed a little bit of the arepa's bread quality by microwaving it, but it was still really great. At about $7 this arepa was HUGE and definitely worth the price as it was very filling. I will be on the lookout for Los Chamos again as they also offer empanadas and seeing other's pictures on here I think I have to try those as well. read more

I got the pabellon arepa. I am very happy with this dish. A very hefty portion of meat, they did not skimp out on ingredients and portions which I really appreciate. It had plantains some black beans and cheese, a wonderful combination! I would recommend this dish and I would order it again. Of the three sauces they offered I personally only liked the garlic mayo.. I actually liked it a lot. One huge down side to my experience with Los Chamos was the LONG ASS WAIT. 30-40 minute wait.... Good food and great service for an excellent price! Since we were the first ones at an event, one of the workers was kind enough to jump down from the truck and bring our food to us (not expected at all at a food truck!). I had one of the daily specials, a crab empanada, which was stuffed full of crab meat tossed with some peppers. I wasn't a huge fan of the taste combination between the fried outer layer and the crab, though - next time I'll stick with one of the food truck's tried-and-true specialties. My husband's Empanada del Gloton (beef, beans, cheese and plantains) was very tasty, especially when combined with the guascaca and habanero sauces. The star of the meal, for me at least, was our tequenos order. The tequenos themselves are pretty much fried cheese sticks wrapped in sourdough bread. The thing that makes the dish is the accompanying dipping sauce. The guava habanero sauce was sweet at first, with a sour/spicy aftertaste. The flavors meshed very well together, making for a unique taste. A definite must-try! read more

Our city hall has been bringing different food trucks for our residents to try on different nights. I had never heard of this food truck until our city brought them to us one night. I saw that they sold arepas and was immediately sold. My family and I each "built our own arepa" and I was extremely excited to try the steak, with lettuce, tomato, and cheese. They looked delicious, but I took a bite and can honestly say it's not the best I've ever had. I actually finished the arepa feeling unsatisfied, as everything together tasted bland. It looked like there was seasoning on the steak but there was no taste and I know arepas don't usually have flavor so that it can be put with anything but it just didn't taste great. I definitely do want to try it again, cause maybe they were just having a bad night. On another note, the wait time was short and the prices were super affordable! read more

The food was ok but what was worst were the prices and I never thought I would have to pay 4$ for can of Coca Cola. I understand the cost of operating a food but still how can some businesses up charge over 500% margin on a item that is purchase at a cost of under 25 cents. If visiting them in the wynwood market place I recommend visiting the other food trucks which have more reasonable prices and better quality food. My favorite part of Los Chamos was catching them unabashedly ROCKING OUT in their truck driving around Wynwood after serving dinner at Tobacco Road. Awesome. Venezuelans though; they got you covered: Guasacaca, Torontos, Cocosettes and Arepas (obviously). Queso paisa, platanitos, beans and shredded beef came in my Arepa Orientarr and it was a messy - albeit delicious - experience. The arepas are a little skinny, but everyone knows the crusty outside part is the best anyways. The arepa I tried was the Pabellon, not your typical arepa...oh no! This baby had queso, black beans, avocado and sweet plantains.. OMG! You HAVE to add the habanero hot salsa on it because it gives it a yummy kick and goes really well with the other ingredients. They had several other options of arepas and empanadas and side dishes. So good I always consider stealing the bottle but my food trucking purse is a small crossover and the damn thing won't fit. I like to travel light on my eating adventures. I love cachapas. They are amazing! It's sweet, has corn kernels and melted cheese. Just delicious! I get it every time I see this truck or go to a Venezuelan joint. The empanadas are huge and devoured in minutes by my son's friend. He claimed it was the best empanada ever! We also got the deep into pork sandwich and we were disappointed. I went to The Stage and saw this truck in the back area. From the name, I assumed it was a take on Venezuelan food... not sure, I'm not really familiar with V-Food. Anyway, the menu was pretty basic as far as what exactly they're serving things on: arepas and empanadas. I chose the Deep Into Pork arepa because it had my favorite things ever: pulled pork and chicharrones. Sold-- I needed that. Wait was kinda long, as it took a almost 10 minutes to get my arepa. I asked for no cheese, but when they totally forgot to leave it out when I got my arepa. I was also expecting the soft, yellow corn arepa... but I totally forgot that there was also a white, crispy arepa that exists, and it acts almost like a flatbread. And that's exactly what I got: the white arepa, which I love. There was cheese on my arepa, like I mentioned earlier... but at that point I didn't care: the arepa was incredible. Chicharrones had a nice crunch... very light, though not too crispy so as to not be an annoying chew. Pulled pork was incredibly juicy... definitely not like BBQ pulled pork, but more like Cuban pulled pork. Marinated very well. There were some bottles of sauce on the side. I got the 'green' one which had a very nice cilantro flavor to it. This went perfect with the arepa, giving it a less-acidic chimichurri vibe. Combined with the crunch of the arepa, as well... the Deep Into Pork arepa is what you should get. You can never have enough pork, believe me. Hopefully I'll come across Los Chamos again to get that arepa. read more

Now I'm not completely an expert on Venezuelan cuisine but I had a awesome ostrich empenada which was subtly seasoned to perfection and yuca fries that came with this killer garlic laced sauce. Great tasting but don't breath on anyone afterwards. The price was amazing and my belly was full. After having an amazing stuffed arepa sandwich from the Arepas las Gorditas truck, I had very high hopes for Los Chamos. I was sorely disappointed. After waiting about a half hour, we received arepas that more closely resembled cardboard. Maybe I'm mistaken, but aren't they supposed to be soft? I ended up eating the shredded beef filling and chucking the sad wooden arepa carcass. I will definitely save my next cheat meal for the competition. read more

I first experienced Los Chamos at a food truck meet up on Las Olas at Huizenga Park. My dad and I couldn't decide what to eat first as there were 25+ trucks and so many amazing options. I don't even know what we ordered, all I know is that it was delicious and worth the 30 minute wait (when they told us 15 minutes). It was an empanada (obviously) but with black beans, plantains, shredded beef, and some delectable cheese. My dad and I both loved it and they cut it in half on request. They also recommended some green herb sauce that was amazing. The yuca fries were very popular but we didn't order any but I'm sure they are amazing too. The prices weren't bad at all either, and they only charge $1.50 for a soda! I've spent more for food that isn't as good! I don't venture to Miami often but I will look them up on my next trip! read more

The best arepa I've ever had! It was delicate while being strongly seasoned. The meat was incredibly tender (I usually go with shredded beef). The yuca fries where amazingly crisp without being oily. The Habanero salsa is great, and the portion size is incredibly generous. For food truck prices Los Chamos is very reasonable and affordable.
