The man that took our order was nice and helpful. The food was quick to come out and fresh. We got the breakfast burritos which were delicious and huge! I will definitely be going back.

Where to begin? My dad used to take me here when I was a kid, and we lovingly referred to this place as "The Big Burrito" because we always got the #12 burrito and it was so huge that we could share it between 2-3 people. It's been over 15 years since I last had this burrito, but it never left my mind. I feel as though I've spent my life searching for something comparable to Los Comales, but to no avail. After finally finding the real name of the restaurant, I decided it was time to see if it was as good as I remember. You order from the extensive menu at the counter, and pick a place to sit. The service was very kind and quick, it did not take long for the food to come out. I ordered the #12 burrito, a carnitas taco, and a pork verde gordita. The burrito is beyond what I remember, so full of delicious beans and meat that you can't even roll it up all the way. The steak is delicious, seasoned perfectly and not too salty. The beans and potatoes go so well together, both once again seasoned perfectly. With the crunch of the lettuce and pico on the side, you absolutely cannot go wrong with this burrito, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The carnitas taco was so juicy and flavorful, and much larger than I was expecting! The pork verde gordita was phenomenal, so much flavor packed into a delicious pocket of fried masa. Finish it all off with a horchata or a coke, and there does not exist a more perfect meal in the metro area. The vibe of the restaurant is also very sweet, it takes me back to being a little kid, and sharing this meal with my family. Whether you stay near Stockyard City, or all the way across town, make a stop into Los Comales. You are sure to discover why this place has lingered in my mind and taste buds for the last 15 years.

One of the best, if not the best breakfast burrito in OKC. Service was friendly and quick and the vibes are everything you want in any Spanish joint. I'm trying to never come back to OKC ever again but if I do, I'll defs swing thru for a burrito.

Hole in the wall kind of place but it's so worth it! The tacos are delicious and I love their chips, salsa and queso dip. The salsa had a kick to it! You can order flautas, and other items from the menu. I think they are very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. They also have Spanish sodas and drinks you can order. Next time I come I'd love to try the lengua tacos. The restaurant is not in a very nice part of town and I would never stop by to eat if it weren't for my husband who works nearby and recommended we go there for lunch. I'm glad we did because it was delicious. I recommend them to all!

    Tostada special... So good!

It's about time I pay homage via a Yelp Review to Los Comales... I really dig it. It's been called a taco shop, but in reality, it has a full menu - and while all of it's taqueria'esque, the experience here is typical of real Mexican restaurants - especially those on the Baja Peninsula - north of Cabo. Places like Guerrero Negro y Mulage. I love the value here and the people who work here smile. They are friendly. They are real. Customers too... Best item on the menu? Any if the Burro's or the Tostada's. Order tacos or tostadas here and you will get three... And they are huge. Come hungry, leave stuffed and satisfied. Thanks to this little restaurant, I can enjoy the best of 'real Mexican' only steps from my office... And if I weren't that close, I'd still come here often. One thing I wish they'd add: marinated carrots and jalapeños... San Diego style... But, this isn't SD, so never mind. :-). Well Done Los Comales! Thank you for being my go-to joint!

    Step right up!

Delicious food that is prepared to perfection. I drive 38 minutes one way to eat their delicious oversized burritos and green pork tacos!

Their breakfast tacos and burritos are the best hands down. I've tried many from here to Mexico and none compare.

It arrived as this dramatic, beautifully constructed tower of mixed seafood topped with avocado and a whole shrimp--definitely a dish that makes an entrance. The seafood seemed fresh, but I discovered that this particular style of mixed mariscos just isn't for me. Some of the seafood had a gray, translucent appearance and texture that I personally didn't enjoy. That may simply be characteristic of the preparation rather than any problem with the dish. I only tried this one item, so I don't think it would be fair to judge the kitchen more broadly based on my personal preference. What I can comment on much more definitively is the noise. It was extraordinarily loud. I eventually pulled out my phone and measured the sound level because I genuinely wanted to know whether it was as loud as it felt. I recorded levels exceeding 100 dB, with peaks around 103 dB. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Unfortunately, I could barely hear them. I enjoy energetic restaurants and certainly don't expect dinner to take place in a library. But there's a point where "lively atmosphere" becomes something prospective customers deserve to know about before deciding where to spend an evening. This crossed that line for me. If a very high-energy, extremely loud environment is your thing, you may have a completely different experience. If you're hoping to have a conversation over dinner without shouting across the table, I'd choose accordingly. Friendly staff, impressively presented food, and a seafood dish that simply wasn't my jam. But the volume overwhelmed everything else about the experience--and at 103 dB, that's not background music. That's the main course.

There were plenty of tables and places to sit. The hostess got us to a table and we sat and ordered our food and talked and caught up. There was this guy I can only assume he must've been a manager, he kept hovering over our table, making sure our drinks were filled even after we had got through eating and just kept hovering like he was waiting for us to leave. I looked around the restaurant and there were plenty of tables that were empty. So I don't understand why he was hovering over us and trying to rush us out of the restaurant. It was probably the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant. I don't know if he was just racist or if he was just being an asshole, but either way if someone comes in to pay for a meal and is sitting down and talking in the restaurant isn't busy. I don't see why there's a reason for you to turn around and try and force people out. To say the whole experience turned me off and I will probably not go back to this restaurant for a while.

It was very busy when we walked in but there was no wait. We were thankfully seated immediately and started off with chips and salsa. The chips were nice and crispy, but the salsa was mediocre. The tomatoes tasted canned. While I can totally get the efficiency behind using canned tomatoes for a busy restaurant, the taste is not preferred. The kids chicken quesadilla plate was a good amount of food! I just wish the quesadilla was already sliced as it was for our 3 year old. The chicken was also bland. Again, the portions were great. My son ordered the Burrito La Herencia with ground beef and this was seasoned well. Again, great portions of beans, rice & main dish. No complaints with this one! My spouse ordered the La Herencia fajita special and felt as if it was lacking. The steak pieces were minuscule and the shrimp was bland and undercooked. The pork chop was thinly sliced which was nice but VERY salty. We were wishing for more peppers and onions as well. Overall this dish was salty, but tolerable! It came with a side plate of rice, beans, pico de gallo, guac, sour cream & lettuce. Served with flour tortillas. We ordered the queso & guac while we were looking at the menu and waiting. I personally did not enjoy the queso. It was thick and had an artificial mouth feel. The guac was decent! Bland overall but I love the taste of avocado. I wish it had more lime and seasoning though since it was supposed to be Guacamole and not avocado dip. I ordered the Steak Mexicano with extra jalapeños and this was very good. Still on the salty side but I enjoy things on a SLIGHTLY saltier range. My spouse thought the steak was TOO salty. The peppers, onions, and tomatoes were nicely sautéed and seasoned. The rice here is also DELICIOUS. I hate a bland Mexican rice. The beans were good too but nothing to write home about. I do wish I was offered a side of corn tortillas. Overall this experience was okay! Not the worst but definitely not the best. The restaurant was beautifully decorated but there was a noticeable lack of music. We were sat listening to the chatter of all the different customers and kitchen noises. We did have the option of booth or table AND they have boosters seats/ high chairs upon request.
